Good morning/evening/afternoon all....and what a fine morning/evening/afternoon it is. While I have just finished another exciting installment of German 102 homework you are no doubt curling up around your laptop, reading this post with the utmost eagerness with a fire crackling behind you, a glass of sweet tea, and the Thanksgiving Day Parade playing/replaying on your television.
Okay, yeah, a bit soon for Thanksgiving but it is just around the corner for us so I would like to be the first (hopefully) from the DLCC to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving.
I will be spending my four and a half days off of school for the holidays doing the following:
- Destroying the evil forces of the Covanent and Forerunners in Co-op campaign mode on Halo 4 with one of my best friends.
- Crawling under a house to help a neighbor back home fix something
- Enjoying Thanksgiving dinner with my family
- And spending two nights and the equivalent of just over two days at my girlfriend and her family's new home
Yes yes, I know you are all jumping with envy (just kidding) but it is a much needed break from the day to day struggles of college life. Now, to the announcement portion of this post.
DLCC's Air Commodore, me of course, will be returning to full duty in the middle of December. That is when my college semester ends, should be the end of the second week of December. I will be glad to be back. Anyone who has paid attention to my avatar has noticed the change from a fantasy style to the style of a military officer, even down to the haircut. I wouldn't spend the money if I were not serious about returning.
But, lads and lasses, with the good news comes the bad news. Though I will be active for a time, my activity will cease all together come February of 2013. No I am not quitting Gaia or the DLCC, but I am shipping off to United States Air Force Basic Military Training for two months, followed by thirteen weeks of Technical School Training for the Air Force Service Career as a member of the Security Forces profession. To use acronyms: I'm going to U.S.A.F. BMT for 2 months and then 13 weeks of Tech School for the SF AFSC.
This means I will be gone from February until the first part of August of 2013, which will be almost time for a college semester to start again.
I just wanted everyone to be aware of where I am and what I am doing, within reason, so that everyone is not panicking when I show up and then leave again. Of course I will probably restate all of this when I leave and more than likely will turn my position over to a new individual at that time. I can not dictate ultimately who gets the job or who can be chosen, but I do hope that Aingel will let me do so. I am notoriously strict about these sorts of things. (ex. no awards unless you really qualify; held up to exact standards; bring me a HoHo when I ask for a HoHo the Debbie Cake of course; etc.) That just means that if you want the job and I chose my successor, 1) join the Air Force, and 2) strive to show how good you are.
Until then, I will try to pop in more and more as I have the time to do so until I can dedicate some real time to Gaia again. So, until the next time....bis dann!! (until then!!)

Nice biggrin Good luck with that, hopefully I will be able to do an exchange tour to USAF...but for now, it is just more 9-5s for me :/
