This is the north side of Main Street, which leads from Riverside Bridge to the City Hall. Or what's left of it. Along the street you'll find very tall buildings, most are sky scrapers for big business and what not. You'll also find a few noticeable stores along the way.

Joseph ran in the back alleys behind several shops. The back alleys had a handful of the undead, not anything Joseph could not handle on a usual day. This was not a usual day though, Joseph was carrying a young girl, in her early 20s if not late teens, on his back. He had shifted her from being carried over his shoulder to riding piggy-back on him. It was probably more comfortable this way for the girl. Either way was not that much trouble for him, but he thought he might as well make it better on her. Not that it would matter, the girl was weak and had fallen unconscious soon after he had picked her up. A few of the corpses started to walk in front of the pair, not noticing them at first. Joseph quietly pulled out his machete, and started creeping slowly toward them. The corpses were no more then five feet away when Joseph accidentally kicked a small bottle. The corpses charged immediately not knowing was as there, just knowing that there was someone there. Joseph could not panic, if he panicked then both he and the girl would be in danger. Making a few quick thrusts, Joseph backed up quickly. The first few thrusts staggered the two, the next few killed one leaving only one left. It continued a charge, and Joseph cursed his luck. The Winchester in one hand and machete in the other, Joseph prepared for the worst. However, it did not come to the worst. Joseph thrust the back end of the gun into the undead's jaw, sending it reeling backwards. He followed up with a sweep of the legs, toppling the undead to the ground. The final strike was a single swing of the machete taking the head off. Luckily no others were near it seemed, or at least not near enough to here the semi-soft thuds of bodies hitting the ground. This was a relief, it would have been trouble if any more had arrived. After roughly ten or so minutes of checking the area to make sure that no more undead would come, Joseph set the girl down against a wall. He took out the food he had given her and set it next to her. He waited for her to regain consciousness so that he can get her some food and she can regain her strength.

Cassandra slowly started to regain the sense of feeling and sound.First thing she felt was the mans body heat and the throbbing in her head, the first thing she heard was corpses hitting the ground. That sound was horrifying and a comfort. Then she felt the heat leave and coldness hit her body, in a few moments her eyes fluttered open softly. The nineteen year old glanced up at him then around, noticing the dead zombies her eyes went back at the man. " You protected me?..." She asked softly her voice was a little weak. " Thank you very much." Confusion rested in her voice, then noticing that the food gave her was out she took some of it and started eating. Her blue eyes scanned him a bit, she didnt think such kindness was even alive anymore. Ironic for her one of the things she fear most, is what saved her. " Are you hurt?" After eating half the food she tried handing the other half back to him. She owed her life two him, she wasn't about to take advantage of it. So far she has been more of trouble then help to him.

Joseph waited patiently, quietly, for the girl to wake up. When he eyes fluttered open he gave a small sigh of relief to see she was alright. Peering into her beautiful blue eyes, Joseph knew something was wrong. She was scared, but there was no way to tell of what. Hearing her words, he definitely knew that she was scared, and it was apparent now that he was the focus of the fear. It was nothing new, however, Joseph was feared by many. Whether this was due to him being a aggressive loan shark known for collecting regardless of the cost, or because he was a well skilled gun-for-hire, he did not care. This girl did not know he was either though, which made him wonder why she was scared. "It was nothing. I couldn't leave such a young girl to die by those forsaken corpses. I would not have been able to live with myself knowing i could have done something. Besides, it is not often a person gets company during a crisis like this.". It was a good sigh to see the girl eat. If she regained her strength then she would not be in as much danger. It was not that she was a bother or trouble to him, he was more worried for her safety. Joseph could be cold hearted at times, but he was not about to become one of the scum he dealt with by not looking after the girl. It was his belief that he was going to Hell for everything he had done in his life, however, he was not ready to put this girl's life as another mark on sending him there. The girl's question was something he wanted to laugh at. There was just some scuffs on his jacket, nothing large, and no wounds on him. "No, i am not hurt at all. Unlike you, i am healthy currently. No wounds, no weakness, full of energy." The last sentence might have come out more harsh then he meant it to be, but he meant what he said. It was not that the girl was weak and helpless, but with having not eaten in a while, she was bound to be weak. His eyes glanced around making sure no one came as the talked, and seeing no one he looked back at the girl. His hands rested gently in his lap or on his sides, he was trying hard to relax though that was rather hard during these times. He watched as she tried to hand the food back to him, he gently pushed it back to her. The girl needed the food more then he. There was two more days of food and water in his pack, he could survive without the food he gave her. It was his hope that she could rest as well. Her body was weak, and she should not move as much as possible. This was both hers and his chance to rest. There was not bed so it would not be the most comfortable, but rest was rest. He gazed into her blue eyes, he knew that she different from the people he had met up till this day.

Cassandra chuckled softly at his statement, looking up at him she rolled her eyes in a playful teasing matter. Seeing him look around and push the food back to her she sighed softly and already didn't feel like arguing with the man about taking back the food. Eating softly it was only when she finished her food that she spoke to him. "I Think at this point of time we're both healthy compared to the rest of this now hellish earth. Even though you don't have wounds, everyone has weaknesses, and being aware of them is whats going to keep you alive." Smiling softly she poked his arm, then continued speaking. Cassandra didn't take what he said presonally, it was true, lack of food made her body weak. The 19 year old still felt like she was stroung, because if she wasnt she would be alive now. " Sure I might be physically weak now, but my mind is still strong...if it wasn't we still might be at the motel. Not to mention since I am not brute force like you might be I have to be smarter about what I am challenging. " Her eyes looked around, in her mind this wasn't that safe, at any moment zombies could flood into the alley they were at. Being a bit stubborn she refused to not be alert. Glancing at the man she stood up making sure her weapons are ready. " How about we go some where else where they cant get to us as easily ?" Clammily she walked over to one of the building. This one was a two story, and had an old fashion fire escape on the back. Looking over her shoulder back at the man she arched an eye brow. " Are you coming 'Mr. full of energy?' Or are you going to sit there and look at me like I am crazy?." With that said the girl turned back to the ladder and with out sliding it to the ground she pulled her self up onto it and then climbed the fire escape all the way to the top. Then on her tippy toes she looked over onto the roof it was bare of zombies with a smiled she pulled her self up onto of the flat roof and set her back pack and her weapons down. " The thing most people don't know about zombies is the fact the only thing they can climb is stairs..."

Joseph looked around so see if anyone or anything had overheard any of the noise. It seemed no one had heard, this fact was disturbing though. The undead were numerous and could be found most anywhere. With no undead catching notice of either Joseph or the girl, nor hearing any noise and coming to the source, did not sit well with Joseph. He was worried something was going to happen soon, something big and bad. Shaking the worry away for the time being, Joseph smiled and shook his head at the girl. She was playful and feisty, to say the least. Joseph calmly walked up to the wall that the girl did, he looked up and sighed. It was far easier a challenge the he had hoped it would have been. Taking a few steps back, Joseph charged at the wall and proceeded to run up it. Of course, about 4 steps was all he could get, this did not hinder him though. In a single moment, Joseph put all his weight into his foot and propelled off the wall, catching a higher point on the fire escape. He quietly followed the girl onto the roof. It was bare, except for the two of them. leaning his pack against the wall, he set his weapons out to inspect them. They all seemed fine, though sometimes he wished he had more with him. Joseph looked over at the girl, who he had only met a bit ago. He had so many questions, as would anyone else. However, this was not the time, nor would anytime near. They were in the middle of an Undead Apocalypse, this was not much the time for socializing. It was at this point the man realized he did not even know the girls age or name even. "May i ask your name? it would be rather hard to communicate if i do not know your name at the least." Joseph was hardly a man to get distracted from things, he was focused at all times. It was true, though, that without names it would be rather difficult, but not impossible, to communicated. Joseph cleaned his knives and Machete as he waited for the girls response. The lack of corpses and undead still unnerved him. Ten different locations, fourteen clients, and hundreds of undead. This was his experience in the post outbreak world. In all that time there was never once a place or time that there was no undead in the near by area. This stillness of the walking corpses had him worked that they might be gathering for something. Worst possible case, some new form of undead had taken control of the lesser undead. This was all ideas though, hypotheses in the mind of a single man. There was only one way to tell for sure, and Joseph was not willing to find out at the moment. Everyone needs rest, including Joseph. He was not tired, not in the least, but he need time to relax before fighting for survival.

Cassandra was a bit amazed by his climb the wall move, but at the same time it made her feel like he could out power her if he wanted to.She didn't really like that feeling but for now she will ignore it. With her stuff in the middle of the roof she walked close to the edge looking for something. It didn't worry Cassandra about the lack of the dead, she knew that they were just hiding in there places. Glancing back over her shoulder at him then turned to face him she raised a brow. " Didn't you hear me at the motel?...I sapose you didn't, I am Cassandra." She said softly finally finding what she was looking for, a rock picking it up she went the the edge of the building and throw it with all her might and it hit into a window of the building across the way. The undead started to come out of there hiding spots and she walked towards the man and sat down looking at him." And what might your name be?" She asked softly not worried about the zombies because she knows they can get up here. " Now they cant jump out at us when we go down." She said softly taking her bladed glove she started sharpening it. Her head was starting to get light headed again. she should probably rest, but she didn't really like doing such things, it left her weak when she rested, but if she didn't she would be weak.

Joseph placed his knives and Machete back on his side, feeling a bit easier now that the undead were moving. The stillness was more an enemy at the moment than the corpses were. The still and almost silence was unnerving to the man, who had seen much chaos and death. In his experience it was not common, and when things were uncommon he knew to take pro-cations. With the single act, one single act from Cassandra, Joseph was calm and focused again. The knowledge that there was living corpses nearby put the man to ease. He wanted to laugh at her comment, but refrained. As a gun for hire and a loan shark much more dangerous things had jumped out of nowhere, and were brought down just as easily. It was not that he could not handle them being hidden, it was just a preference that the vile corpses were visible. After inspecting his weapons, the man looked at Cassandra and was about to speak. It was at that moment that it was noticeable, the girls uneasy. The reason behind this uneasiness was not known, but it could be told that she was uneasy about something. Was she going to feint again or was she worried about an issue? Joseph knew not the answer but he kept a steady eye on her as he spoke."My name Joseph. I am a former loan shark and gun for hire. Until the outbreak that changed everything, i was quite happy with my life. What about you? what did you do in life? Joseph was interested in what this girl did for a living, she was a very interesting person to say the least. There was may ideas floating in his mind about the girl that was now in his company. This was all pre-knowledge judgement though, his views would not stay the same as he learned things about her. He did not need to know much nor did he want to. In the line of work for a gun for hire, there was many jobs that learning people was necessary. It was a skill that was not so easy to develop, but effective and useful once acquired. He might be far off his mark, but it was not his place to say. For now, he would just learn a bit so that they were not complete strangers.

Cassandra was still sharpening the bladed glove as she listened to him speak. Her blue eyes glanced up at him hearing him even give out his job and what he did in life. She knew he was older then her, but must of been more then 5 years, or around that since she was in high school when it broke out happen. " Me? I was in High School...I was around 16..maybe 17 when all this happened....Though nothing really didn't change for me when this all happened. I already took car of my self, and had no one to care about....The only thing that changed for me was freedom and killing creatures..." She said softly then pulled her sleeves down hiding her fore arms from sight knowing what knife made scars were there. Setting the knife blade to the side she brought her knees looking forward at the ruined city in front of her eyes. " Lets just say that this Hell saved me from my old Hell...and not a day goes by where I don't think this hell is easier...." Cassandra muttered softly her voice drifting off, as then she took a deep breath to remain almost emotionless from it all. She didn't need to become weaken by emotions...that would only fog her mind. Feeling a bit uneasy she stretched her arms out above her head trying to clear out her thoughts. " So? Joseph...How old are you? I am assuming your older then me since you had a job of being a loan shark before the corpus started dancing around..." She said softly and placed her blade off to the side as she put away her sharpening rock. Her blue eyes landed back on Joseph , waiting for an answer. Though her mind was roaming about the idea that he wasn't out to harm her, then again that can be possible since he risked his life to safe her...for now she wouldn't doubt him. On the other not she isn't going to fully trust him as well.

(im going to continue from what was in my join request since at least one person in this topic knows what it was)

after eating my food i stand up and grab my binoculars. 'time to see if theres anything going on...." i walk to the edge of the 6 story building opposite of the military "safe zone" and look out, only being able to see the rooftops i look for other survivors. "well i'll be damned..." i say as i spot two survivors on a rooftop about 2 streets away from me. i get up and look for a piece of mirror or anything reflective "the can!" i say in my head. i grab the can and find the other survivors again. holding the can up i create a glare off of the can shinning it into the girls eyes.

(i have a legit question, since all stories are better with a back story, when/if the survivors in the RP meet, can I write a back story for how all this happened/started? i can do a real good zombie Apocalypse, and i have an idea how a real one would go down.)
