Hughes would then deftly dodge the Cero Doble, getting coated in sand as he did, then he would deflect the Balas that came his way, some even heading back towards Sheilmonte, though, they would obvious miss since Sheilmonte had moved next to Hughes, but Hughes wasn't surprised by this. He even had anticipated this, as noted by the fact that, as soon as Sheilmonte moved closer to him, he would release a Cero immediately towards him, though aimed it in such a way that it would also head towards Kuroi, but, because they had both released Ceros aimed at each other, even if Sheilmonte had dodged, the two Ceros would collide and negate each other.
After they had done so and the resulting sand had jumped up to cover them even more, Hughes would then attempt a jumping cleave at Kuroi, intending to slice him in half from the head down. Though it wasn't a particularly important thing, one might've noticed that Hughes was only using one hand to attack with...yet, it wasn't his right hand, as he seemed to prefer to use. Rather, it was his left hand.
Knowing full well Kuroi would either block or dodge the attack, Hughes would let off another bout of laughter, before saying "And ta think, someone such as you is still alive by this point in tha fight. I must be gettin' sloppy or somethin'. Oh, well. I'll soon remedy that." which he said immediately before launching another Cero, this time aimed at Kuroi and point-blank at that. Unless Kuroi was extremely skilled, there was almost no way he'd be coming out of this without a scratch...which would've only elated Hughes even more if he did.
