When the other boy touched the girl with one finger, it seemed to make her do funny things. Maybe he could try that? With a grin,Luke reached out with his pointer finger and poked Parmida in the chest, not realizing that that was a place generally avoided by most well-mannered people.

Parmida outright squawked at the second poke and jumped to her feet, barely managing to catch both toddlers in her arms before they hit the floor. She stared wide-eyed at the toddler for a moment, in disbelief that anyone would touch her there. She opened and closed her mouth soundlessly for several moments as she turned her head to look at one then the other before turning to place both toddlers on the chair and stand before them, arms cross over her chest (more protectively huddled then normal). "Please, please tell me no one told you not to touch there. Because you're not suppose to touch someone there (especially a girl) and I would be most unhappy if you were told and simply ignored whoever told you." She tried to give them both (the chest poker more) a stern look as she waited for them to answer.

Blink. Blink. Aiko looked up at the girl, giggling from the new game. Now if they poked her, they got to fall through the air a bit before being caught. Much fun!
The toddler was about to reach up and poke Parmida where Luke had, since that seemed to be the place for poking for the new game, when the adult glared at them both. Aiko frowned at the scary face, ignoring whatever she was saying.
"Again!" He chirped.

Luke on the other hand wasn't ignoring the older girl. Her tone and body language made him nervous, even though he didn't understand everything she said. Had he done something wrong? He hadn't meant to. He looked from the smiling other toddler, to the other girl and tried to make sense of the situation, sitting down on the chair, popping his thumb in his mouth. He didn't want to do it again like Aiko wanted if it was going to make the girl mad....he didn't like it when people were mad.
Gabriella, who had been tuning them out until now, looked up from her studying with a raised eyebrow, glancing over at the trio. Her gaze fell particularly on the older girl that had suddenly squaked and jumped up for a reason that Gabriella was unable to determine. She was scolding the toddlers for something, but she wasn't sure quite what.
"Having problems are we?" she said, a note of irritation in her voice at having her studying repeatedly disrupted.

Parmida blinked and glaced over at the older child. She had completely forgotten there was someone else in the room. Silly her. She attempted to look adult-like and afronted as she replied, "Nothing beyond normal toddler antics and the fact that they don't know where not to touch." The last part was directed at the offending toddler with a glare, with her fists now resting on her hips. She would have thought that toddlers were taught early on where not to touch! She was better mannered then these two when she was their age, wasn't she? gonk

Aiko glanced over at the other older, but not as old, girl when she spoke. This was getting boring... The boy stuck one finger up his nose as he continued to stare at Gabriella.

Luke shrinked away from Parmida's glare. People were scary when they looked like that! What did he do wrong? He didn't understand.
Gabriella blinked a couple of times, unimpressed by Parmida's apparent distress. Then she caught sight of the darker-haired toddler, putting his finger up his nose. She raised an eyebrow and looked between the two of them a couple of times, as if she were confused.
"Right....." she said to no one in particular, shaking her head, and not even attempting to hide the sarcasm in her voice.

((>< *wonders if she should bring Manelin in to the rescue*))
Parmida barely stifled a moan as she reached one hand up to palm her face, closing her eyes in dismay. No wonder each child was assigned their own matron. One toddler has his finger up his nose, the other toddler was looking at her like she was some kind of rogue elemental, and the child thought this whole thing warped enough to be sarcastic. Unbidden, the thought rose up as she pinched the bridge of her nose, one elbow now resting on her other arm - What else could possibly go wrong?

How about Aiko wetting his pants? For, as the boy continued to jam his finger up his nose, a wet spot appeared at the front of his shorts and grew a bit in size. The boy looked down. "Uh oh..." He voiced, finally removing his digit from his nose to touch his wet shorts.

((you could bring him in looking for Selma and Tali like you wanted))
Luke was distracted from his fear of Parmida by Aiko's accident. He knew what an uh-oh that sounded like that meant. He had said it before, himself.
"Uh-oh," he parroted, nodding, and gave the Aiko the toddler version of a sympathetic look.
Gabriella's attention turned to the older toddler, as he spoke and when she saw what had happened, her face suddenly got a very disgusted look on it.
"Babies...," she muttered before automatically looking at Parmida, as if she were the one in charge, by default.
"You gonna clean that up?"

Parmida opened and closed her mouth several times before she closed it once more and swallowed. Hard. And turned green. Not only was she not fit to be an elemental, life decided to mock her some more by forcing her to take care of... of... She turned and opened her mouth to respond with a reply fit for a fire elemental...
When Manelin burst into the room, looking frantic. "Hey, has anyone seen..." He trailed off at the sight; Parmida looking green with an open mouth (there didn't seem to be any mess in front of her, good thing), a one-armed toddler, a toddler who seemed to have just wet himself, and a child attempting to do homework. "... Never mind." And with that, he quickly withdrew and scurried down the hall.
"Coward!" Parmida shouted after him - her face turning an odd color as green was replaced with red - before growling and turning to face her-worse-nightmare-turned-true once more. She turned green again as a small, pathetic whimper rose from her throat while she tried to think of something - anything - to get out of this.
Manelin grumbled at the sound of Parmida's voice chasing after him, but reluctantly posponed his search for Selma and Tali to instead search for a couple of Matrons to help Parmida out. She really looked like she was in over her head...

Aiko watched as the older girl turned all sorts of funny colors. For some reason, the boy who stuck his head in caused her to change even more. How funny.
His amusement only lasted so long before he whimpered. His shorts were starting to get cold from being wet and it wasn't any fun.

Gabriella watched Parmida, seeing her gape and work on a retort. She whirled around, however, when Manelin burst in...and then left abruptly. She blinked for a moment, wondering what was going on, before turing back to Parmida, her expression clearly saying something like ".....so?"
Luke shifted uncomfortably. The tension in the room was high and he was picking up on it, though he wasn't sure what was going on. That, and the other toddler was starting to fuss.

Ugh. The... mess... was started to smell. Parmida sighed to herself, internally wincing at what she was about to do. She had to pick up the one toddler and finding someone to clean him and change him. Hopefully the toddler wouldn't mind too much if she held him at arm's length, would he? Her nose twitched as she just thought about what had to be done to the poor chair the mess happened on. Going to need a matron for that job as well. She answered the child's expression with her own expression, clearly saying along the lines of "Shush you, wait until you have to go through this" and turned to shoo the one child off the chair and pick up the fussing one.

Luke obediently got off the chair and stood watching the commotion from the side of it. He popped his thumb in his mouth, not sure what to do exceot stand there. He couldn't help the other boy, that he knew. Maybe he could see where that other person went?
Deciding that was a good idea, Luke wandered over to the hall door and peeked his head around the corner. Well, he wasn't right there. Maybe he was down the hall? He stepped outside the room and started walking away, hoping he might run into the other person. He seemed like he might be fun to play with.
Gabby was clearly amused by Parmida's predicament. The corners of her mouth turned up as she watched the scene unfold from over the top of her book. She was glad she wasn't old enough to be given responsibilities like taking care of toddlers yet. And if her luck held out, she would never have to deal with them. Gabriella planned to study as hard as she could and learn as much as she could, so that she would rarely, if ever have to deal with menial tasks. Even though she was still rather young, she knew she wanted to be somebody important.
