User Image Bella stepped off of the path quietly, today was a day to explore farther than she had last time in the forest. Her mask patted against her hip as she walked, sending the smell of Nightshade floating around her as she walked. It worked almost like bug repellent, keeping away mosquitoes and other stinging or biting insects that made their home in the trees of the forest. She hummed a quietly melody as she made her way through the brush and tree branches that had fallen over the seasons. Patches where the grass had died showed a few signs of life as she walked by, making her smile a bit. "It's such a nice day today, I feel like playing something to the forest." She quickly turned to the nearest tree and placed her hand on it for a moment, pondering what kind of song would be best for today's mood.

"I think a minuet would be nice." Bella carefully pulled her flute out from the wrappings around her waist and lifted it to her lips as she walked. The air filled with quick and lively notes as she played her flute, barely a pause when she took her breaths. After a few hours she realized that she was completely and utterly lost. The area of the forest she was in was foreign to her, even some of the flora was new to her compared to what she had seen in her previous walks through the forest. She lifted the flute away from her lips for a moment and pondered. "Hellooooooo is anyone around?"

User ImageThe sound of music was heard far among the tress, the branches carrying the sound miles away. The forest took delight in the druid's sound and spread it as far as they could. The trees and flowers seemed to be enlightened from the gift, and the forest inhabitants easily heard the sound. Cassiel was among the few creatures to come out of hiding from the soft flute music that echoed through the trees. He followed it as best as he could, listening for the sound to grow in strength. Being a forest dweller, much like the druid, it was easy for him to creep up and listen from a close proximity. In fact, he managed to perch himself in a tree not far away, watching the druid play her gentle melody. He would have approached her long before the music stopped... had the tune not put the man to sleep.

When the song stopped and a voice called out, the man opened his eyes once more. He was groggy for a minute and confused, before remembering what occurred. He followed the voice and was easily lulled to sleep when he got comfortable in the tree. He quickly rubbed the sleep form his eyes, straightened his glasses and hopped down from the tree. He tried to move as quiet as possible, but the rustle of a tree branch gave his position away. The tree itself wasn't helpful, alerting the druid of another in the forest.

Stepping through the bushes, the tall Exorcisma smiled at the druid. "I hope I'm not frightening you..." He muttered, keeping his distance but still at an approachable distance. "I was tending to my vegetable garden when I heard the music in the wind. It was fascinating so I ended up following it. It was a very pleasant song, and the forest seems to have enjoyed it. I never felt this sort of energy coming from the flora and fauna before." He swooped his hand in a general direction to make his point, as the trees seemed to still dance on the wind, although the music had stopped. "Its not every day I meet a druid in this part of the woods. I never imagined there was any near by. If it's not a human or mononoke, its normally just another exorcisma like myself. Did you travel far?"

Bella spun around and looked up at the tall Exorcisma, quickly pulling her mask up over her face. It had been awhile since she had seen anyone in the forest. Her cheeks blushed red as he complemented her yet she still kept her mask on. The smell of nightshade floated away from her towards the Exorcisma as she took a step back. She kept her flute behind her back as she watched him for a moment. A few plants nearby homed in on her mood and seemed to react to it, closing their leaves and bending away from him.

"I don't live very far from here, I mean! Eep I didn't mean to say that. Who are you?" She hopped back as she thought about giving away the whereabouts of her shrine and garden. After a few more moments of silence, she tried to think through all the possibilities. He might just be telling the truth and was fascinated by her music, it really was meant to make the flora and fauna of the forest react. She pulled her flute back out but kept her mask on, she looked up at his ears and tilted her head. "Why are your ears like that? Don't you have horns like me? I haven't seen an.. exor..cisma before. I only see the occasional lost witch. The trees and other plants of this forest are what keeps me company, I know what they like to listen to. Can't you tell what they like?" She repeated the e word with a curious tone, it was truly foreign to her.

The Exorcisma stared at the woman with a puzzled look across his face. He was quiet at first, staring the poor girl down before he simply shrugged. "I don't have horns, our races are different. Thus why you do not have the ears of an Exorcisma." He muttered from the place he stood, not moving closer to or away from the druid. He obviously frightened her in some way, although she had called out to anyone in the forest.

"And since you asked, my name is Cassiel. I call a section of the woods near by my home. I have a shrine there that I run while my family is off exploring the world. I stepped out today because your flute music carried far across the forest and I was curious who could play such a lovely sound. I'll be honest when I say I didn't expect a druid but a witch perhaps. You're just as reclusive as I am and I never expected a druid to be so close and yet so hidden." He smiled softly then, again shrugging his broad shoulders.

"As for your other question; no. I can't communicate with nature as you do. Although you can speak with them I can gauge what they need from their spiritual energy. But I cannot ask them what they like." He looked to a tree as he spoke, staring it down a long moment before his eyes once again focused on the girl in front of him. "Sorry for disturbing you. I'll take my leave." Cassiel said as he finally moved, turning to head back to his home. He didn't want to question the girl any as she obviously didn't trust him.

She watched him quietly, and then took notice of his ears. She found them adorable and smiled a bit under her mask, although her smile showed since her mask only covered part of her face. A pang shot through her as he turned to leave. She followed him and grabbed his sleeve, taking her mask off again. "I'm sorry.. it's just I've never actually been spotted by another person. My name is Bella, I'm the sole caretaker of the shrine I reside in. It's only recently that I've begun to learn about things outside of my shrine and garden." Pausing slightly, she made sure her mask was tied back wear it had hung earlier. Losing it would not be a very good thing. A bit of tension eased from the plants around her, though a few of them posed as if they were watching curiously. She blushed and let go of his sleeve after realizing how tightly she had grabbed the fabric. "Oops I'm sorry, I hope I didn't tear a seam.."

She moved her hands behind her and looked around for a minute, she wasn't all that sure of what to say next. After a moment an idea hit her, she pulled out her flute again and help it out to him after wiping off the part where her mouth was. "Do you want to try and play a song too? I'm sure the plants will like it too." She hoped he would turn back to face her and she was really curious if he knew how to play the flute too.

Cassiel stopped when he felt something tug the sleeve of his shirt. Turning, he looked back at Bella and smiled. "It seems we both have a lot in common then, Bella. I also am the sole caretaker of a shrine near by. And although you offered to let me play music, I have to admit that I don't know how to play. So I thank you for the offer but I'll respectfully decline. I'd anger the plants with a horrible sound."

He laughed softly at his own expense, shifting to lean against the trunk of a near by tree as he watched the woman. Druids were rare, just like exorcisma. In fact she was the first one he had seen in years. He recalled one that came to the shrine before, though the man didn't stay long.

"How often do you come out here to play music to the plants? This is actually the first time where I heard it, that's why I came looking. It's not every day I find someone playing music in the forest."

Bella frowned a bit then giggled, it started to seem like she was the only one who played music in the forest. "Ohs, I don't think you would anger them all that much." She giggled a bit more as the plants around wiggled to as if they were perked up from the cheerfulness in the air. "Well I play almost every day but I only ventured out this from my shrine for the first time today. I usually look around for new types of plants for my garden when I do try to venture out farther and farther from my shrine. I've never really seen anyone playing to the forest either so I thought I might try and help, did you know trees can get bored too?"

She carefully tucked her flute back into the wrap around her waist before carefully leaning against a tree too. It made her look even shorter compared to him. "You're quite tall aren't you, I bet you don't have too much trouble seeing over brush and fallen branches? Oh I was also wondering, have you seen any Nightshade around here? Someone stepped all over the little one that I was going to pick from one of the clearings."

Cassiel listened to the girl, nodding his head slightly. Yes, he was tall. It had its advantages and disadvantages. Although he can see over shorter things, he frequently bumped his head on items that hung low on ceilings or doorways. "I honestly didn’t know that the trees could get bored. It’s good to know. I may try to talk to them more, or perhaps learn an instrument. However, I do know of some nightshade nearby. I just need to get my bearings…"

Looking around, the Exorcisma started to debate on which direction to take. He wasn’t quite sure where he was as he blindly followed the sound of music before. But when he decided on a path, he pointed towards the East and smiled at Bella. "Shall we? I don’t think it’s too far from here. So the walk shouldn’t take too long. Though I am curious, if you can talk to the plants… can’t you ask one of them where nightshade is located? I’m sure after that beautiful song they would happily oblige. Though, I could be wrong."
