Well, that explained why the spikes that I had fired before hadn't disintegrated after leaving what seemed to be my control range. "Even if we are not fighting among ourselves, this place still seems to me as though we are supposed to be competing. While I can understand helping other people, why help her? She already has an advantage." I say, while focusing on the mana again. I try to form a piece of the sphere into another spike and launch it at the target while forming another spike, firing that and repeating, seeing just how fast I could form and fire these spikes in rapid succession.

Krin: All of the claws propel off of your hand with quite a lot of speed and fly in a straight line into one of the targets, embedding themselves a few inches deep into it. By drawing more mana from the stone, you are able to regrow the claws in a little bit less than 3 seconds. The claws aren't very elegant in design but should suffice for the sake of projectiles.
Valden: The mana sculpts into a spike and flies downrange into the target. It takes some time to mold the mana into a properly shaped spike, at first taking you about 2 seconds to form and fire each new one, but as you continue, you quickly get used to the method and become able to fire off a spike every second. You are only able to fire off 10 spikes before the mana you had collected runs out.

Krin smiled at the claws then put down the white stone firing off the other claws as he sighed "Perhaps that is your mindset, but just because she has this "advantage" you speak of, does that mean I should not tr and help her? in all honesty I do not have much more to live for, so what is wrong with living how i wish to?"he said slowly picking up the green mana stone and focusing again to his hand trying to make a shield with the mana.

"I don't really have anything to say about that." I say in response to Krin's question. I pick up the black mana stone again, and try to fire man from the stone directly at the target downrange, solidifying it as I fire it rather then stopping to solidify it before I fire it.
(Sorry about the delay again guys.)

Everyone: You all continue practicing with various spell ideas until it is lunch time. The Mentor announces: "This concludes our class for today. As you have all just had your first experiences with mana based magic, I will leave you free to take the initiative to practice however you want, whether it be through casual contemplation by yourself, studying in the library, or just continuing to practice. I will be leaving this practice range set up for the rest of the day, and I will be in the lecture hall after lunch for anyone who wishes for additional tutoring. But for now, I'm sure most of you must be hungry, so I will hopefully see some of you later." The Mentor finishes speaking and starts walking back to the entrance of the building.

He sighed putting the stones down and turning around looking to see if Ore ore had finally gotten it all figured out, hoping for the best for her.

I put the black mana stone in my hands down, idly firing off the last bits of the mana into the target downrange before I turn around, letting my eyes sweep over the crowd of students and teachers for a moment in an old habit of glancing over people. I also throw a glance over at Krin and the woman he had been helping. Then an image from my brief sweep clicks into my mind. I think that I remember seeing a pair of orange horns in the crowd, an abnormality in my race, but the norm in another that I had been watching for a while, even though without sound it was hard to learn much about them. I take a step away from the station I was at, looking for anybody else with horns in the dispersing crowd.
