History: He was a gambling man always playing cards for money and making bets and he would always trick people into doing what he wanted almost controlling them.............. One day he was playing cards with an old man and when he won he won a odd looking staff, no it was more of a rod, it was gold and had and eye and when twisted the top came off to reveal a blade. He planned to sell it and went to his home and went to sleep after a night of gambling partying and drinking. Later that night he had horrible nightmares of being absorbed by shadows and some huge creature holding that weird rod he had won earlier crushing him. He awoke in the middle of the night, he then instinctively grabbed the rod, he starred at it and walked to his window and went to open it, he had to get rid of it now, when he went to throw it he was instead sent flying backwards into his wall his soul was then split in half one side which was anything good in him that was more of a trickster, and his dark half that desired everything, his dark side took over and he was now on a quest to gain power any way he could.

History: He was a old man who had been exiled from society. He was on his last leg of life and had no where to go, but after wondering for days on end in a barren waste land, he found himself in front of this huge temple. Civilization at last he thought, but he soon learned that once he got to the top he was the only living thing there, as he walked through the temple he came upon this huge shrine with seeming empty slots, as he got closer to the shrine something caught his eye, a glowing green stone. He went to go touch it, but when he did it shattered into 8 peices, one large pendant shaped piece and seven smaller shards in triangles in squares. He picked up the pendant and the power of the Orichalcos flooded through him and showed him the history of Atlantis and the "truth" about humanity and how it was evil and impure. The power of the Orichalcos could make him young, as long as he used its power to purify the world, it would purify his oldness and uglyness.

Personality: Atem is quite and laid back. He doesn't like much to fight and is often found reading books in the park or somewhere quite and has beautiful scenery.
History: When Atem was born he was born in a pool of water because his mother thought water births were easier on her. Atem's father was named Yuichi. He couldn't of been prouder than he was when Atem was born. Though at the moment no one knew of the child's special ability to see Duel Monsters and start conversations with them at any given time. As Atem grew older he started school and was often teased and picked on because of his appearance by other boys. He became the heart breaker of Domino before he entered middle school. Every girl liked Atem because of his good looks and his tanned skin. The reason the boys picked on him was because of skin color. He was half Egyptian because of his mother was from Egypt. When Atem was 9 his parents who served in the military were shipped off to war and he stayed with his Grandfather who was owned to Muto's Game Shop. He helped around and also went to school as well. When Atem had just started Middle School an officer in the school had called him out in the middle of his favorite class. World History and told him his parents were killed in action. This devastated Atem. He'd never see his mother's warm smile after he came home from school or welcome his dad and take his brief case after a long day in the courtrooms. At their funeral everyone in his class came. Even the people who bullied him comforted him. One of these people would become his best friend. Leonardo Mizukiami. Having the same interest helped Atem get his mind off the accident of his parents death from the war. Leonardo had become more like family to him than he was his best friend. During it though Leonardo would also help around the Game Shop when Atem was either ill or had to stay after school for clubs or other activities. Atem was into sports. He made the tennis team and track team. In spring time Swimming trails were held and so were archery. Atem made these teams as well. And with Leonardo supporting him Atem became a good athlete. And soon a special occasion happened at the Kame Game Shop. After 100 years of traditional gaming the Kami Game Shop decided it was time to renovate. During the clean up process Young Atem at the age of 12 found a mysterious golden box. He looked inside and found puzzle pieces. He had found a new pass time. He had seen a picture of his too many great grandfather Yugi Muto. He had solved a similar puzzle to this but it couldn't of been the same one right? After the puzzles completion he wished for a better life for himself. One that included friends and acceptation in the real world instead of the Dueling one. He lived his Grandfather after his parents had died in a war. He found it difficult but he also inherited Yugi's deck and monsters. And after 4 years he figured out the puzzle. The spirit that resides inside it yet unknown to him.
