[This post is a reserved one under construction]
Other posts here cover the manner in which each element carries out their arguments -- this one shall cover the fundamental tools with which those arguments are crafted. Namely, words.
Each elementa has an individual method of expression, corresponding to their other traits. In this manner, due to cultural influence/shaping of language, additionally, nearly every natural language (and many constructed ones, due to more cultural influences) has an elemental "bias", or multiple ones, depending on the form in which they are spoken.
Radiance:
Radiance elementa seem to be very direct in their expression; however, it may be carried out in "bursts" of light (that is, they may be silent for a while, mulling over the way to express themselves, but then they will output all of their feelings into one powerful burst of expression -- an honest one.)
Wind:
Wind elementa of course ramble quite a bit, and go off on many tangents in their conversations. They also have the tendency to get onto one subject and talk excitedly (and very quickly) about it, then get ahead of themselves and change courses, transitioning with a more "dreamy" lull in their speech, until they find the next thread to excite them. Their sentences can get very long and interestingly varied because of this patchwork of excitement to lull and back again. French is a good language for this pattern of expression.
Ice:
Ice elementa are extremely articulate and precise in their speech, even if they are not well-educated in "standard English". They seem to treat their morphology as a "crystalline structure" -- adding more and more onto it in an orderly manner, patterning their sentences after snowflakes in a way. Their voices may be more quiet or subdued -- if they do not have too much Wind in them.
Water:
Water elementa employ "endless flow" in their sentences. They take one train of thought and follow it through, in a soothing, flowing manner, and if their flow is disturbed, they tend to be very happy to get back to it and continue flowing through the full thought. Japanese has a Watery form.
Compression:
Compression elementa are notorious for being vague or ambiguous in their speech, with true meaning hidden behind or compressed by many layers of "potential" meaning. They speak from the background, and when forced to "speak up", may instead simply give wisps of sentences with no "actual" meaning. They are very intense about their actual meanings/emotions, however.
Earth:
Earth elementa are, in a few suitable words, terse, direct, and blunt. Their sentences do not go on for long, and they are very practical rather than flowery. Languages designed after Earth elementa or towards their preferences tend to have many plosive/stop consonants, and may tend towards the monosyllabic, preferring to leave complex morphology to the Wind, Ice, and occasionally Water elementa.
Fire:
Fire elementa seem to tend towards "overwhelming, strong" flows in their speech, and the sight of a Fire-Lightning elementa speaking on a subject about which they are very passionate can be quite interesting, indeed -- however, Fire-Earth elementa are likely to eschew some of the longer or more complex flows in favor of delivering the maximum power "per punch".
Lightning:
Lightning elementa have the tendency to be quite self-centered with their speech, often without realizing it -- they will subconsciously direct the flow of conversation to themselves with turns of phrase such as "Well yes, but when it comes to me" or in more subtle ones, too. Their speech flows are quite staccato, and contrast strongly to Water's "soothing, uninterrupted flows", although they do not ramble in quite the same way as Wind. Spanish tends to have a Lightning tilt, although also can tend to Fire.
Research to be done:
- More language:elementa correlations
- Specific speech patterns of those not fully outlined here
- Other things I forgot.
- Oh right, examples for each of these phenomena.
- Lenqa data.
I don't really have a suitable ending for this so here's some emoticons of a Ninja and Pirate cats because they're really cute.
