There's a girl that comes into the place where I work (a drop in center for mental health consumers) who claims to be in love with me. I'm flattered, but I'm straight. She knows this, but she keeps saying how much she likes me....since she utilizes the drop in center, it's should be fairly obvious that means she has a mental health diagnosis. I don't know how to let her down easy, though. I want to be friends, because we get along really well, but since she told me she's in love with me, I think things will get pretty weird...what should I do?

Have you told her you have a boyfriend (I'm only guesting that you do) or something like that. If you have, the only other thing is telling her that you only like her as a friend or something like that.

I'm single, and she knows it. She also knows I only think of her as a friend...I just don't want to hurt her. She's tough on the outside, but she has a fragile emotional state.

Then I can't help you out. sad I have no personal exp. when it comes to things like that. The closest thing for me to this was a bi friend would hug me when I would let him barrow one of my mangas.

I once had a situation with a girl that was almost the same I told her I was straight but she did not really listen I told her we could be friends and she seemed Okay with that There were a couple of occasions where she tried to change my mind but today we are still friends and have been for about 4years. I do not know if this helps but i was just nice and honest and as a result I have an awesome friend now smile
