A look around the centuries old manor that the Revena called their own told the youngest one of the family that she was alone. Again. Little Eve had started to notice that even Lila left the manor more to take care of stuff than she used. The toddler was both sad and worried about the fact that even her mother was off playing bodyguard to a starlet. The ragdoll child sighed as she headed towards her playroom to work on a painting, but a certain wizard came to her mind. Howl had been worrying her since she saw him in a state after Sophie's death, but now that the woman was alive, she could only wonder about how he was.
A smirk came to the toddler's face as she looked around the main hall of the manor. A moment, the girl vanished as she used a spell to head over to her favorite teacher's castle. The ragdoll glanced at the outside of the caslte and headed towards the entrance to check on Howl.

Howl had been humming a gentle tune when he heard Calcifer exclaiming that there was someone outside the door. Distracted from the spell he was building, the wizard ran down the stairs of his castle to the door to see what his firedemon's problem was. He opened the door, and grinned when he saw it was Eve. He hadn't seen her since--well, since the last time he'd seen her. It had been when he had just heard Sophie had died. He'd been in a right state, then! He could remember little of it.
"Eve, come on in," he greeted his friend with a smile. Oh, how he wished Sophie was there! He was sure his wife would like to have met Eve. "I'll get you something to eat," he added, making a dash for the kitchen. There was certainly a change in the castle, as well. Since Sophie had started to stay there, the rooms seemed much brighter. It was as if someone had turned a light on by cleaning house.
Howl hurried back with a plate of cookies, offering them to Eve with a smile. "Here you are. They're good. Just baked this morning."

Eve had been able to knock when the door to the castle opened, but blinked at the sight of Howl. The toddler noticed his grin and smiled as she could tell he was in a better state than the last time she saw. The fake smile had annoyed her. She nodded in greeting and walked in, following Howl at a slower pace. Her eyes looked around, finding the cleaner state of the castle a sign of someone not quite as messy as her teacher.
At the mention of food, she became a little wary. The plate of cookies looked tasty, but the thought of her mother's recent cooking attempts almost killed the toddler's desire to eat. She smiled and took a cookie anyway, sure Howl or anyone else that made them wouldn't poison her.
"Thank you, Howl. You seem in better spirits, my friend," she replied before taking a bite.

Howl seemed happily oblivious to Eve's hesitation. "Sophie made them," he informed her with a smile, taking one himself. He took a bite, swallowed, and grinned. "It's nice to see you, Eve," he added. "I only wish Sophie was here to see you, too." He glanced around the living room, as if pondering where his wife could have been. Maybe she was there, and she'd talked herself into being invisible?
"Do you want something else?" he asked. "Tea? Hot chocolate? Apple juice?" A pause, in which he glanced around the room again, almost hopefully. "Sophie's shopping," he explained with a sigh. "Probably wedding planning things, knowing her. I proposed not that long ago."

She nodded, glad to see him too. She felt better after seeing that he wasn't so sad anymore. The toddler also thought Sophie was a very good cookie maker. Eve watched him look around and giggled. It was clear to her that his love was gone for the moment and shopping perhaps.
The ragdoll shook her head at the offer for anything to drink. "No thanks, Howl." Her voice was soft while she still admired how clean the castle looked. However the toddler looked at him, "If she's wedding planning, shouldn't you be helping with the planning, Howl?" She asked as she thought both partners should at least plan the wedding together.

"Nah," Howl shook his head. Planning weddings? With the number of lectures he had received on the subject the first time? It was for potential wives, their mothers and sisters. And sometimes (to Howl's immense regret) the sisters of the groom. "It's bound to mess some plan up, if I intervere. Sophie'll want a nice, traditional wedding. If she has what she wants this time, perhaps she'll be less likely to yell at me."
He grinned, clearly unaffected by the prospect of his wife yelling at him. Or perhaps he was simply so used to it that it no longer mattered. "You're invited, of course," he said with a smile. "Your mother too. But you'll keep your uncles and aunts and what have you away from my wedding. I won't be having guests on the menu." His tone was light, but something in his blue eyes had darkened. Oh, his hatred of vampires and all things dark had deepened due to recent events.
"Flower girl position's been claimed, I'm afraid." His younger sister had claimed it the day after he'd proposed. "But I can find an equally as important title for you."

Eve wondered for a moment how many lectures Howl had gotten on the subject of weddings, but merely smiled. She herself did not understand how weddings were planned or why one would stress out over such a thing. "I'm sure you would have some very good ideas for the wedding though. Anyway, I hope the wedding goes well."
She watched him grin and again wondered for perhaps the tenth time if it was possible to have being yelled at as an expression of love. The ragdoll smirked when Howl mentioned she was invited. The toddler made a mental note to ask Lila to take her shopping for a dress to attend the wedding in and what would work as a wedding present for a traditional wedding. At the mention of her mother though, the toddler composed her face to hide the fact that she even doubted her mother would attend the wedding. If she didn't have time to spend with Eve, how would she have time to go to a wedding?
Putting a strained smile, she nodded. "Don't worry, Louie and Anya said something about going to their home country and paying their respects to the dead. Damin seems to have plans though might I say only Louie, Anya, and Romero eat people. Damin prefers animal or cloned blood." She could tell that hatred of vampires might include nonhuman drinkers now, but she hoped not.
Eve fought the urge to cringe at the idea of being flowergirl, silently grateful to his younger sister. She shook her head, "No need to give me a title or a part in the wedding. I would be happy to attend as a guest." She had seen flowergirl dresses before and she would never touch one not even if her own mother married.
Eve's stomach growled a moment later, wanting more than the sandwich and cereal she had that morning.
