Geographical information: A vast nation of plains and mountains, very sparse of forest. Most land of any clan and a tremendous food output. Due to their large amount of land they have a large amount of resources. Has minimal industrial land. Has a large amount of farmland taking up about 2/5th of the land. The Quarries and Mines located in the many mountains are one of the greatest sources of revenue, simply for the access to rare metals, minerals, gems and stones. They also have a vast desert to the South-east that is the base of the House of Sand.

House of the Stone: House Kovdeem
The House of Stone was created by Velius Kovdeem, the sixth child of Markovich. Velius was the first to move away from the quiet home that her father had made and set out to build her own city. She settled on a mountain made entirely of different types of stones. By herself she carved the city and made it the homes of any seeking shelter from the beasts of the night. Velius was given the Armor of her father, and had it re-sized and shaped to fit her slimmer body figure. The Armor is made of Obsidian, and is enchanted so it will not shatter during battle, and helps to resist harm from outside attack. unlike the other houses all of the leaders of house Kovdeem have been female. This is because of the trait that strong stone magic is usually passed down from mother to child. This method of leadership is used to help keep the affinity for stone magic strong in the Kovdeem line.
Those of house Kovdeem stand about the same height as those of Ramel and are of similar build, except for the fact that they are fairer of skin, and darker of hair, most of them having black hair, with eyes the color of grey cobblestone. They are usually a little more muscular than House Ramel, but not nearly as well built as House Ridgar.
The House of the Stone is not a melee combat house, rather they act as the siege engines in times of war, using Stone magic to hurl great boulders towards the enemy strongholds. The main export of House Kovdeem is the special stones that can be mined from their mountain. These include marble, Obsidian, cobblestone, sandstone, soapstone, alabaster, limestone, granites and coals.
The current leader is Ishana Kovdeem

House of the Earth: House Harata
The House of the Earth is one of the larger houses, as it comprises most of the civilian population, and comprises the farmers and hunters and gatherers. House Rakot was created by Julia Rakot the third child of Markovich. She had very little mastery in any of the magics that her father, or her siblings had. What she did excel at was farming and agriculture. While many of her brothers and sisters prided themselves on their ability in combat, especially Kord and Doran, she prided herself on her ability to feed her friends and her skills with farming.
The people of House Harata are built well, are often around 6’2” to 6’6”, and well toned. They are not the strongest but they are built for farm work and hunting. Their smaller frame allows them to run through the woods without crashing through it like a Ridgar would. They are usually excellent bowman, and a well-trained hunter will be able to track a deer through the forests without any problem.
Because of their food production, and larger population they are one of the central pillars of Earth Clan’s infrastructure. More often than not the only soldiers that come from this more peaceable house are the hunters who become war-archers in times of trouble.
The Current Leader is Doran Harata

House of the Gem: House Vorin
The House of the Gem was created by Darus Vorin, the fifth Child of Markovich, and focuses on the rarest and most complex of the three Earth magic sub-types. Darus was the greatest Gem-user that the clan has ever seen. His ability to shape gemstones even allowed him to combine different types of gems to create new gems altogether. It was even said that Dorus was able to coerce the gems to grow as if they were living beings and could refine gems out of normal stone and purify the gems that were tainted. Darus was given his father’s gauntlets as his inheritance. These gauntlets were enchanted to be able to sense gemstones in the mountains and help purify imperfect gemstones. They are made out of a composite of diamonds, rubies and sapphires.
Those of House Vorin are usually short and stout. They rarely get above 4’10” in height and are built more rounded in the center. They are generally dark haired and pale white skin from all the time spent digging underground. Their eyes have adjusted to subterranean light and they need dark glasses when going out into the daylight. They are strong for their size, but they are not very agile. They are also not very fast but built like a brick wall.
The most common trade of the Gem House is mining, as their city is built into one of the Valdovian mountains. They mine gems and special rocks, as well as ores that were normally exported to the Fire Clan before the great War. Since the war most of the ores are refined inside the Earth Clan, or exported to places like the Dark Clan. A percentage still is traded with the Fire Clan, but they do not trust them as they used to.
The Current Leader is Korvin Vorin

House of the sand: House Ramel
House Ramel was created by the second youngest child of Markovich the First, Silvania Ramel. She was the first Sand user to master the art, and the deadliest warrior of her time. She had such fine control of sand that she could blast it across her opponents’ skin, tearing it clean off. She was the first of Markovich’s children to be passed on an artifact that was made by Markovich himself. She was given a simple, small glass necklace that could be carried with ease. But it is what is inside the necklace that is important. Inside the necklace is a various mix of different kinds of sand, including iron sand, gold sand, silver sand and diamond dust.
Those of House Ramel are usually tall and slender, standing around 5’8- 6’ tall. They have a thin frame, with sandy colored hair and lightly browned skin. Most of their time is spent in the sandy deserts of earth clan territory. They are usually one of the physically weakest of the 8 families, but make up for it with their ability with sand. The artisans of House Ramel are the finest glass smiths in all of Sayari. The people of Ramel are usually very peaceable, and are not much for battle.
Soldiers of House Ramel are usually either scouts, or the mid-range fighters. They specialize in overrunning people with sheer masses of sand. They can concentrate their sand into sandstone, but it does not make very effective weapons, as it is not very solid. Though not very powerfull alone, Sand users are more formidable in mid-distance in numbers.
House Ramel is also the house that discovered the special Yin’Sok tree. These palm trees grow in the desert oasis, and somehow integrates with the sand it grows around. These trees are harvested once they reach maturity and make the best bows in Earth Clan because of the ability to strengthen them through enchantment. The enchantment is possible because of the sand that is naturally integrated into the wood. Yin’Sok bows are highly valued by hunters and war archers alike.
The Current leader is Kaitlin Ramel, Halcyon’s cousin.

House of the Warrior: House Ridgar(Previously known as the House of the Hammer)
The House of the Warrior is a very strong, and very proud house. The first Ridgar was the second child of Markovich the First, and the third to begin gathering followers and forming his house. Kord Ridgar was the first to receive one of his father’s artifacts. His Father, Markovich, gave him his Hammer. A War-hammer, made of Granite and a marble handle. This hammer was imbued with ancient magic, so that it would last for a long time to come, and so that it would be even stronger than the raw materials it was made of.
The people of House Ridgar are physically the strongest, tallest and most intimidating of all 8 houses. Standing on average 7’-8’ feet tall, these warriors, for they can be called nothing else, stand as giants among men. The tallest recorded Ridgar was of an extremely pure bloodline and stood at a staggering 8’6”. The people of Ridgar are, to put it simply, ripped. They are the strongest, and there is no magic involved, it is all pure muscle. You rarely see a thin Ridgar, and those that are usually were not born into that house, but rather joined for personal, or family related reasons.
The Soldiers of House Ridgar are the main force of the Earth Clan Army. Having easy access to militaristic training, as well as savage fighting techniques from an early age allows them to become some of the best soldiers in the Clan. Most, if not all of the warriors of Ridgar house are melee combatants who rush to the front lines whenever ordered to.
Ridgar Castle: This huge castle is a monument to the strength and power that is House Ridgar. This, like the Kovalian Coliseum, was created by Tovana Ridgar.
The Great Kovalian Coliseum(Named after the beast of the Koval plains that was slain by Tovana Ridgar, one of the most well-known leaders of Ridgar. The beast’s bones became the foundation for the coliseum.): This Arena of combat and bloodshed is the greatest monument to combat in the Earth Clan, and stands adjacent to the castle located in Kem’Voin.
The Current Leader is Nabari Ridgar

House of the Architects: Mokiran Guild
The Guild of Architects was formed by Julia’s younger twin brother Justin Rakot, who later renamed himself Mokiran, to distance himself from the mild-tempered pursuits of his sister. He had larger aspirations, to construct the strongest and most impenetrable wall that any man has seen or will ever see again. He received his fathers Crystal lenses. These glasses only mystical function is that they can expose possible weak-points in structures, if they are supplied with magic.
One is not born into the guild, they are chosen at a very young age by the selectors. The Selectors are members of the guild chosen by the Master Architect to search for new members to pass on the knowledge and build the structures of the future. While some parents are upset at the choice they accept it as it is an honor, and is also a part of the Earth Clan traditions.
The Head Architect is Jarin Mokiran

Guild of the Artificers: Novinkal Hall
The Halls of the Artificers were founded by the Seventh Child of Markovich, Silvania’s elder twin sister, Silesta Ramel. She, like Justin, changed her name to Novinkal to set herself apart, as she was gifted with the enchanting of tools and armor made from the materials of the earth. She was the tallest Artificer in history, standing about 6’ tall. She inherited her father’s Earrings, made of silver and set with rubies and sapphires. They are nothing more of a reminder that the old magics exist and a clue to possibly rediscovering them.
Just like the Guild, members of the Hall are chosen at a very young age. There is one key difference, no matter what family they come from they grow into very lithe and thin beings with pointed ears, fair features and hair and skin. They also never grow taller than about 4’. No one really knows why this is, but some speculate it is the strange energies inside the towers that the Hall calls home, while others say it is the strangely pure Earth magic that they work with.
The High-Artificer is Isila Novinkal

The Guild of the Historians: The Sindra Society(Previously known as the House of the Sword)
The Sindra Society was created a mere 500 years ago, after the head of House Rindras lost the Sword of Rindras. The legendary weapon was Markovich’s primary weapon in the wars he fought, and was one of the nine treasures passed down through the ages. 400 years ago Falco Rindras, the leader at that time, was fighting a great battle. He forced the enemy leader to the top of a cliff and there they fought. Falco was by far the better warrior, but his arrogance led to him losing focus. He charged when the enemy was merely baiting him. The enemy knocked the blade out of Falco’s hand and kicked it out to the ocean sending it sailing off into the distance. Realizing his mistake, and the lose to Earth Clan he had just been responsible for, Falco fell to his knees in utter shock. The enemy took this opportunity to also take Falco’s dominant hand and left him on the field to die.
Trudging back to the Capital, in defeat, barely holding their army together, Falco went to stand before the King, Halcyon’s great-great-great grandfather. Falco expected King Krovoss Gilvan XVII to be furious with him, but all Falco saw in the king’s eyes was sorrow, and understanding. Falco gritted his teeth and bent his head, not having the heart to look his king in the eye anymore. He knew he had failed the Clan, and that punishment was due. His only request was that only he be punished for his own rash mistake, and not the rest of his house. The King wanted to respect this wish, but he was unable. He told Falco that the mistakes of any leader reflect on the people that are being lead. For punishment the King disbanded the house of once proud warriors, and decreed that they could never again pick up a sword. He reformed the members into the Sindra Society.
This society would be in charge of investigating the long abandoned cities of the Earth Clan, and any others in Sayari. They would only ever be allowed to fight when immediate danger was posed to their life, and the only weapons they were allowed to use was their own fists. Falco held a meeting with the main family of the house and had each one of them vow that one day they would recover the ancient sword and return their house to its glory.
Those from the Society have a physique similar in height to the Ridgar House standing tall and strong, at around 7’8” to 8” feet tall. Unlike Ridgar they are thin, light and fast. The fighting style used by the society are all self-defensive martial-arts skills that rely on their superior height and speed. House Rindras was created by the first son of Markovich, who simply went by the name Rindras.
House Rindras used to function as the guards of the Citadel in times of trouble, but since the disgrace they have been replaced by House Ridgar. The first child of the head family of the house are named Dorgan and usually inherit the position of leadership.
The Current leader is Dorgan Sindra

Basic Political System:
The Earth Clan is ruled by the Earth King who is chosen by the three elders. While the Earth King makes all the major decisions, such as when to go to war, what new trade agreements are made with the other clans, and such things, it is the House leaders who do most of the running of the civilian populations.
The basics of politics revolves around The Earth King at the top, making all the major decisions of the clan with the eight house leaders making all the decisions of their own people. It is most common for the leaders and Kingship to change hands every 50-60 years. Most often the current leader rules from about 80 or 90 to about 140 years old. After this time a new leader is chosen from the line of the main family of the house. After they rule the old leaders retire and focus on any hobbies that they may have interest in.

Basic Biology: The people of Earth Clan vary in both size and physique. One thing remains constant in all of the people of Earth Clan, they live for about 180-220 years. The oldest person on recent record lived to be 289 years old. Their slow aging is largely due to their mystical connection to the slow moving earth. They hit their prime around 40 years of age, and it begins to end around 100-120.
Most of the females are very fertile, but gestation times range from 18-20 months, more than double the normal time of other clans. However twins are very common in Earth Clan, and their longevity helps to ensure that the population is sustained.
The Hair color of Earth Clan members are usually browns to light blacks, with the exception of Sand House, which has blonde or light-brown hair, and The Artificers who have white or silver hair, from never leaving their towers, and exposure to the magic of the towers. Most of Earth Clan has darker colored eyes, ranging from browns to greys to blacks. Their sclera however ranges many different colors; from the normal white to colors of various stones and gems. It is said that golden sclera indicates a powerful talent for magic, and black sclera is a sign of misfortune and calamity. Most of the Warriors from House Ridgar have Blue Sclera and those of the Malokan Historical society often have red sclera. The babies are all born with white sclera, which changes to a different color as they age, stabilizing around 5 years old. The only exceptions are those born with golden sclera and those born with black sclera.
The people of Earth Clan are typically viewed as adults by about 30-35 years old. They usually get married around 40-50 years old, but not all follow this pattern. They also have a denser bone structure, which makes their bodies more resilient, and harder to break.

History:
The Earth Clan was formed by Markovich and his nine children. The first 8 were the first leaders of the Eight Houses and took their own last names based on their mother’s last names. Contrary to the popular belief that Markovich the first was a stoik and wise leader, he was actually more of a lazy drifter, with no aspirations to be king. He was a ladie’s man, and slept around with alot of women. Eventually it was decided that he would lead, but he was more forced into this than willing. He set down many of the customs that are still followed today. On his death-bed he chose his ninth child to be the next leader, and gave each of his children one of his personal creations.
Since the Era of Markovich many leaders have come and gone, but very few have been bad leaders. This is attributed to the fact that the next king is chosen by a council of elders who pass on all of their knowledge to the next generation to ensure mistakes of the past are not repeated.

Military:
The basic units of the military are made up of squads of 10 soldiers. Though the more common base is a group of 1000 soldiers, these are called Korvans. 500 of the soldiers are basic militia from the clan, 200 of the soldiers are miscellaneous magicians, and 300 are specialists that come from house Ridgar. There are always at least 10 Korvans protecting the Capital at any given time and 2 Korvans per major city. 10 Korvans make a Golian. There are always at least 3 Golians on the Great Wall, and 5 Golians have been stationed on the border since the end of the War.
The Great War drove Halcyon and the other leaders to put new laws for guards on the border to increase security. Before the War the greatest number on the walls would be 5 Korvans. After the War that number was increased by a minimum of ten-fold. Another change that has been made is a new roadway called the Stone Highway. It has been under construction since the end of the great war. The roadway consists of raised platforms connected and made out of stone. Once finished it will connect each and every major city by a straight road from the Capital, and connect the adjacent city with each other.
