Have you ever been scared out of your wits? Have you almost died because of it? Well some people have. Aliza feels that way when she was scared on a halloween prank at her school.One day she was walking to school when a few boys came up and pulled a halloween prank on her. The poor girl was scared into a heart attack. Really. The boys didnt know untill they saw her on the ground holding her chest. The boys rushed to the hospital to help this girl. Once Aliza awoke from her sleep with one of the boys looked over her with worry in his eyes. The doctor was able to save her, but she had to get a new heart.
"Her's is useless. If she didnt get a new one she would have died." Spoke the doctor. The boy understood what had happened, and since she lives alone, no one had to worry. Now it's the night of halloween, and the boy is very uneasy that she wants to go. But she doesnt seem to happy about going.

Aliza shifted a bit in the hospital bed, turning onto her side. She winced a bit, not liking the position before laying on her back again. She opened her eyes, blinking a bit from the bright light. She frowned and covered her eyes. Ah, now she remembered. All the white sorta gave her a hint. She pushed herself up and groaned slightly, still covering her eyes. "Someone turn down the lights" She muttered, wondering if anyone was with her. Of course not, she didn't have parents. She groaned again, annoyed before pushing herself to stand up.

John frowned when she stirred, it wasn't much of a change, he had been frowning ever since she had a heart attack. He watched her sit up and said, nothing. He had been up all night watching her for the past week. He didn't sleep and was probably suffering from major sleep deprivation, but he refused to leave her side until she was stable enough to leave. He had occupied his time by thinking of ways to apologize, and the doctors had helped him by deciding to put her in an induced coma so her new heart could successfully reintegrate itself without strain, but now that she was up, his lips didn't open. He stood and walked over to the light dial, turning down the intensity of the bright florescent lights to a dim glow. "You might wanna get up and stretch." he finally said,"You kinda just came back from the dead and slept for a week straight without even moving, I doubt that your limbs are gonna like that." he said. Any humor he had tried to insert into the moment was killed by the dark rings around his eyes and heavy tiredness to his voice.

Aliza jumped at the new sound, someone's voice. When the light was turned down, she blinked; every time seeing fireworks behind her lids. She squeezed her eyes shut and pressed her fingers against them. Blinking a few times again, she was glad the fireworks stopped but now had something else to deal with. "What are you doing here?" She asked, leaning against the bed again and stretching her legs.

John let his head hang when she responded. He opened and closed his mouth multiple times, trying to find what to say. He took a deep breath and let it out slowly, "I got scared." he confessed, "I didn't want to have hurt anyone, so I waited here. I watched you, made sure you recovered. I... I don't want an innocent girl's death on my conscience." he said as he drew a deep breath to keep from yawning. He was horribly tired, but didn't feel like sleeping. He looked at her with a tired gaze.

Aliza rolled her eyes and shook her head. "You got scared?" She mocked, tilting her head before meeting his eyes. "Here" She mumbled, handing him a pillow. "I've slept long enough as it is and now I'm hungry" She said, yawning and stretching her arms over her head. She stood up and pulled at her hospital gown before walking out the door. She smiled lightly at a nurse passing and gave a small wave.

John shook his head,"I didn't stay..." he let out a long, drawn out yawn, his body yearning for sleep. "I didn't stay awake for an entire week just to fall asleep when you finally wake up." he said. Contrary to his sentence, he accepted the pillow and lied down on his side. "Just don't get into any trouble..." he muttered and almost instantaneously fell into a deep sleep.

Aliza was about to turn around and ask him if he wanted anything but only turned to see him asleep. She smiled lightly and turned off the lights before closing the door after her and going to the lunch room where she got a muffin and wondered the hospital to give the other one rest. She didn't remember his name, only his last one.
Once she was done, she went back into the room and left the lights off. The open window gave in the little light the moon and street lights had to offer which was fine with her. Watching him sleep on the seat made her feel uncomfortable herself. She gently tapped his shoulder before grabbing it and giving it a shake.

John woke with a start and he panicked until he saw Aliza above him. He let out a long, drawn out sigh. "Hey Aliza, what's up?" he said casually. He let out a little gasp as the moonlight caught her. She looked incredible. The moonlight made her pale skin light up and her turquoise eyes shone like opals. He stared wide-eyed at the sudden realization. He looked away for a moment and let out a breath he didn't know he had been holding. "Wow...'

Aliza tilted her head, wondering what was so amazing. She shook her head and held a muffin out to him. "I got you something to eat" She said, smiling. She got back onto the bed and leaned against the wall. "I am awake now, you can go home and sleep... You know, in a bed?"

((Sorry, I was grounded FOREVER. Catching up on all of my old RPs)) John took the muffin gratefully and took a bite, shaking his head at her suggestion, "I'm homeless. I lived in an orphanage until a couple months ago when I turned 18 and I'm not allowed to stay anymore. So I came here when I got sick and they figured out I didn't have a place to stay so they let me sleep here. Granted, all they have is the morgue, but its better then the alley, and surprisingly comfortable. They let me work here to assist the Nurses. They can't pay me a lot, but it keeps me fed, warm, and, you know, alive." he said. Despite his situation, he had a rather positive outlook. He never seemed depressed or angry or contempt. He was always helping people, doing what he could to make others happy.
