The night had barely started but the city was already alive with the anticipation of things to come. Humans hurried from one block building to the next, sitting inside metal objects without a care in the world where the strange shiny creature may take them. It was a game Lyssa found herself watching most evenings. The hustle and bustle of the people far below as she watched the dancing lights appear and the stationary ones alight. Sometimes she would be lucky and catch a few mortals that would sing and shout and fight beneath her very hiding spot. She would whisper encouragement and gather the spoils forgotten by such men in their foolish but entertaining shuffles. On this such night she had already collected 3 sets of keys and a shoe. The extra appendage humans used to make them walk funny was already stuck heel deep in mud and Lyssa wasn't one to not listen to the needs of a shoe!! She buried it as fast as she could even with the voice of a irate woman yelling somewhere in the background. Distracting humans. Did they not know that items wanted to be buried? All those sweet nutrients just waiting to be absorbed? Silly, distracting humans.
Yet tonight wasn't for collecting gifts of epic beauty. No, tonight was to seek out the power that sang to her so softly on the breeze. The lull of a magic so tormented and chaotic Lyssa grew dizzy from breathing it in. Oh to see her Queen! Or maybe King? Her time with Chaos had be short and sweet and the deadly taint still rang loud in her ears. But the thought of meeting that which had been chosen! She couldn't stop shaking from anticipation...or that itch she had, but either way she was sure that it could only mean good, good things!
The hunt was on for the most beautiful of prizes. The most enchanting of gifts.
The most deadly of humans.

He stepped out of what seemed like nothing, abandoning some dark recess of the Dark Kingdom, perhaps even the rift itself to feel the cool night air brush his face. The light promise of snow that made the wind feel that much more cutting against what little of his face was exposed at all to the elements. He stood for a long moment, letting himself find his center they might have said, letting himself feel the earth beneath his feet and trying to force his perspective into something much greater. Not just the Negaverse, not ‘just’ the senshi He thought of the earth turning on its axis, it’s face warmed by the sun, the moon that reflected the sun’s light as though it were it’s own. The stars, immeasurable and bright even in the darkness that tried so hard to swallow them up.
So many questions he couldn’t answer, it bothered him, perhaps some questions were not meant to be answered, some doors never meant to be unlocked. He fingered the keyhole detailing on his wide cuffs and let his gaze fall, pulled by some gravity of perception back to the earth. A presence pressed against his perception. Cat, he wondered for a moment if it was Hiro and some anticipation of assault crept down the back of his neck as he glanced up, then around.
At least it wasn’t a senshi he felt, he was in no mood at all to deal with petty squabbles and small justifications. They were tedious, and grew more so. For all his need to control his emotions he thought he might become violent if he saw a senshi tonight. “Come out, come out wherever you are,” he said in a low voice, as companionable and soft as velvet.

The voice cut through the darkened sky like a homing beacon, aiming for Lyssa mind and where she hid just out of sight. She could feel the pulse of energy radiating from him, his aura spiked with the smell of cold wet mornings and empty rooms but above all Chaos. He didn't even need to ask for her to appear, she would have done so gladly for one such as himself. And what would she be if she weren't to bring a gift for her General-king? Rude that's what.
Flicking her ears she grabbed the chosen item with her mouth and started to pull towards the Negaverse Solider, her red rear slowly coming into focus as she dragged the long item into sight before turning and almost skipping towards him, if cats could skip of course, which in this case they did. The crusted moth ridden lump of what could only be described as a once beautiful woollen shawl was pushed before him. This was his gift. he would have it and he would wear it before the others and cut a powerful awe-inspiring figure before them. A ping of excitement and warmth hit her stomach as she thought of him standing before his soldiers, the shawl flapping in the wind. Glorious. Her body shook with glee as she tried her best to bow down gracefully and then rise.
"♩Tainted human, I like the swirls you create. Ripples so delightful - A present from Lyssa, the dust mites will feed no more. ♫ "
Nudging the literally dripping cloth towards him Lyssa peered up in awe. She could see the living creatures in the wind scurrying away when they blew in too close, colours turning black as the Chaos soothed his brow...either that or a cataract was forming. Purring loudly she waited for him to gather up her gift and wear it with ultimate pride.

“Tainted human.” He murmured blinking at the words and stooped offer her a brush of his hand. He hesitated for a moment over the moldering scrap of once woolen something, gnawed by moths She nudged it to him he altered the direction of his questing fingers to lift it. A present, oh dear… “Well, thank you.” He said somberly and lifted it trying not to note the smell of it or the dirt that dusted his gloves. He paused and then slipped it over his shoulders trying not to flinch at it. There was just something intense about the cat’s gaze, and her words that made him question her sanity.
“What’s your name then?” He asked tilting his head. He cold almost feel the tattered wool unraveling. Even at his smallest gestures. “I’m Zinkenite.”

Ohhh human touch! Possibly the best of all touches except of course for that of a car exhaust. Pushing herself into his palm she allowed every inch of her back to be stroked in one swift movement. Her purr reaching high pitching levels as he quickly left her fur, an almost shrieking resentment for this fact as she mewed softly for more. It wasn’t everyday you got petted by powerful beings…well not alive ones anyway. Watching as he draped her gift over his shoulders she saw her vision unfold, he was magnificent. A true leader. In centuries to come they would paint him and there would be her gift, ever sitting, ever proud. Forever there.
She blinked at his question and realised he mustn’t have heard her name previously from within the confines of the amazing scarf. Although why he would assumed the word Lyssa would be her exact name while she was sprouting loads of other random nonsense never occurred to her. What did occur to her was that she needed to shout. Loudly.
*breathes in* “ - THE silENT ONES CALL me LYSSA OH ZINKenite. THEY SPEAK OF YOU TOOooooo, OF THE CLOUDS fearing yo-UR NAME! TH-ey PASS ON TALES OF YOUR ADV-ent-URES TOO ME! ZINKENITE! ZINKERITE! ZINKERNITE! ZINK- ”
It may be worth hitting her soon but Lyssa was in no way near finished praising the young man who stood before her! Such grace in one so small, even the grass crumpled beneath his weight! Such strength! Sadly though what she was thought she was doing and what was happening where two very separate things. She was now just shrieking at the top of her voice, a whirling vortex of noise and ear splitting pain.

He closed his eyes as though that might lessen the volume she spoke at. “I’m very pleased to meet you Lyssa, I will try and remember your name for all future meetings lest we find all future conversations require great volume.” He hastily tucked a hand under her chin to try and silence her for a moment, at least long enough to convince her to be quiet, or quieter. “Thank you…thank you, you’re voice carries quite outstandingly, I am sure that they have heard you from one end of the city to the other, but I would hate to see it draw to you the wholly wrong kind of attention.” ((sorry so late!! sorry so short!))

Zinkenite had done the right thing. If he wasn’t for his brave actions this day Lyssa would never have shut the hell up. The cat was just warbling now, high screeches that contained no vowels or constants but lay somewhere menacingly in-between. If sounds could weep the city would run riot with tears. The gentle push of his hand made her chin promptly close, her pink shiny tongue sticking out in at an angle in one corner as she watched him. Ahh more touching! Her body was all of a tremble with glee. His soft words caressed her flickering ears as her heart pattered with delight with the sound of his, if not a little bit, crazy advice. She couldn’t understand why her loud voice would bring troubles, unless hubcaps were involved - NO!…no. It was too tempting to let herself dream of the Senshi of loud voices and hubcaps again, emotions just ran too deep, too raw. Her first imaginary love.
“He was too three-dimensional for this world.” She blinked knowingly at Zinkenite. There was no need for explanations (not that he would get one from this cat) Zinkenite knew the score, he knew. But there was no time to swap intriguing stories about fake soul mates; Zinkenite had asked her a very important question within his own ramblings. And her answer was yes.
“Yes.” (told you so)If she wasn’t mistaken, and she never was, there was a hidden message within the advice he gave her, such a task it was to find it but find it she did. And she was honoured. To be chosen as the generals own personal advisor was astonishing, but hardly surprising.
“Thank you scarf-master, I will serve you well.” Lyssa started backing away slowly without breaking her gaze with her King, her body slowly being absorbed by bushes until she disappeared.
If the unease hadn’t hit Zinkenite just yet, it will do. Something bad had just happened but what?
