This thread contains the guild rules, magic system, and combat system.

RULES!!!
-Follow Gaia rules and ToS
-No God-modding or auto-hitting
-No killing characters without the player’s permission
-Use literate third person storytelling (no text speak or emotes)
-If you don’t know how to do this, read my guide: http://www.gaiaonline.com/guilds/viewtopic.php?t=22499521
-What the Crew says, goes. Period.
-Three strike system
-First: warning
-Second: Probation (temporary loss of spells)
-Third: Banned
-Keep it PG-13. Romance is ok but if clothes are going to come off it needs to get out of this thread.
-If there is an OOC dispute, please take it to PMs.
-Respect others please. If you are caught being continuously rude and disruptive, you will not receive strikes. I will simply rage and smite you with the Ban Hammer.

Combat System:
In order for players to gauge their character’s speed and strength in relation to each other we use a letter grade system. The letters used from worst to best are D, C, B, A, S, SS. If another character has a higher ranking letter than you in strength then they are stronger than you, and if they have a higher letter in speed then they are faster. There are also ways to add a + to them such as D+ or A+. This means that the speed or strength is better than someone with just the letter, but not as good with someone a letter higher. Kind of like half way between.

These letter statistics for speed and strength are determined by your character’s class and improved or degraded by your race. Your statistics will also improve as your character goes up in rank.

Your rank is also scaled on the same set of letters in the same order. All characters start out as D rank unless otherwise discussed with a moderator. Various exams and events will be hosted that will allow your character to rank up with enough participation.

When fighting in the RP, players are allowed two “actions” per post. When it is your turn to post you may make two actions that can be the same or different types of actions.
All the following are considered one action:
-Casting a spell
-Drawing a weapon
-Attacking
Note: If you do not use a spell to block or avoid an attack, it does not count towards your action limit.

Magic System:
Each character has a certain amount of points known as their mana pool. The point amount is determined by the character’s class and what rank they are in that class. In order to cast a spell a character must have enough mana points left, otherwise they are not able to cast it. Different ranks of spells cost different amounts of mana, as such:
-D rank = 1 point
-C rank = 3 points
-B rank = 6 points
-A rank = 12 points
-S rank = 20 points

Mana points are easily recovered by simply not being in combat for a short time or resting in some way. Obviously if you are in the middle of a fight and being attacked you cannot attempt to rest to regain mana.

Training System:
In order to learn new spells and abilities, you must train your character through roleplaying. Different ranks of spells require a different amount of posts to master. Your character must be actively training in all of these posts. No going out to dinner and taking a nap and calling it training. A post is at least 4 sentences. The amount of posts needed by rank are as follows:
-D rank = 2 posts
-C rank = 4 posts
-B rank = 8 posts
-A rank = 15 posts
-S rank = 18 posts

There are many different factors that can affect the amount of posts needed to learn spells. A character’s race and class will most likely give a bonus to at least one type of magic. Naturally a character’s level of ability might make it easier or harder to learn certain spells. If a spell’s rank is higher than a character’s rank, then it is harder than normal for that character to learn. For each rank higher than you the spell is, you add 1 to the multiplier for posts needed.

Ex: If a D rank character was training for a D rank spell then it would only take 2 posts. But if he were training for a C rank spell there would be a multiplier of x2 so it would take 8 posts. Then if that same character wanted to learn a B rank spell there would be a multiplier of x3, so he would need 24 posts instead of the original 8.

The same principle applies in reverse for easier spells. If a spell is a rank lower than you it takes only half the posts to learn for each rank lower it is.

Ex: If an A rank character was training for an A rank spell then it would only take the normal 15 posts. But if he were training for a B rank spell it would only take 4 posts instead of the normal 8. Then if that same character wanted to learn a C rank spell he would only need 2 posts instead of the normal 4.

Teachers:
If someone already knows the technique you wish to learn and is willing to help your character in RP, it then takes 2 less posts to learn.

Area: There are certain areas within Krasus that are naturally attuned to different magical energies or may have special equipment to aid in training. These areas will mention any bonuses they may give in the first post of that thread.

Missions:
Various NPCs (non-player characters) exist within the various cities. These NPCs are controlled by the moderators and often need a lot of help to keep their city running. If you would like to aid your city, all you need to do is ask an NPC if they need any help and a moderator will take control of them and respond. In some cases, if the city is in dire need, an NPC will even seek you out and give you a mission. When you ask an NPC for a mission, make sure to PM the moderator in charge of that city, or at least post in the city's OOC so that they know they need to respond to you.

If you are to successfully complete a mission, it will be marked on your profile to show your skill and prestige. On top of that, the NPC will always give you a reward for your service, and it is often a magical item.

Shaping the World

Arguably the best part about Krasus, is that it is far from finished, and I have put the power in your hands to finish its creation. Once you have become accustomed to the world there is a lot you can do to add to it. If you think of a class or a spell that should exist you can suggest it. You can even create places in the world for people to RP in.

All of these are strongly encouraged, but must be well thought out and approved by a moderator. Here are links to the threads to request such additions. Please leave your mark and help me create this amazing world.
