Nigel couldn't help but notice that there was something different about this particular vial.
As he directed the summoning circle that would call forth the guardian of this particular vial, the redheaded mage found himself rolling the vial back and forth between his fingers. The liquid displaced slightly at the movement, but that wasn't what Nigel was paying attention to - what he was focused on was the presence inside the vial, which was growing ever more insistent. Strange, he thought - there was a sense of power coming from this particular vial, and it intrigued him...
He pulled his attention away from the vial as its guardian began to appear, however, watching the circle with a bored expression. "I have something for you." the red-haired man stated, not knowing that this man had been summoned once before - last time, Zak had been the one to deliver a vial to him. The two of them didn't really keep track of such things though, and Nigel wouldn't really have cared otherwise. He just wanted to deliver the thing, and the be done with it.

Theo had been watching over Tara when Nigel had summoned him. He seemed rather surprised; but not to the extent of the last time he'd been summoned. He looked around, expecting Zak, before setting eyes on Nigel. He gave the red headed mage a smile. "Something for me?" he repeated, glancing at the vial. "Oh, another one?" he asked cheerfully. "Tara's grown into a lovely little girl, we just adore her."
He paused, and studied the vial. "That one seems different," he commented. Being a fae, Theo was good at recognizing magic and other such things. "It pulses almost. Tara's was never like that. Are you sure it's mine?"

Nigel stared at Theo somewhat, taking a moment to realize what it was that the faerie was implying. Apparently, he'd been given a vial before. Well, he supposed that was good - he suspected that someone with a little more experience might do better with this vial. "...that's nice." In either case though, he didn't much care whether or not Tara was a 'lovely little girl'. He just wanted to get rid of the vial.
"Yes. I'm quite certain. I wouldn't have summoned you if it hadn't been calling out to you." He tossed the vial to Theo lightly, trusting that the faerie would be able to catch it. "Whether it feels different or not, it's still yours. Take it and do with it what you will." He just wanted to get this over with, after all - though he WAS somewhat curious about how that vial would develop. It was definitely...different.

Theo caught the vial and stared at it for a moment. He frowned slightly. "It's shaking," he observed. "You're sure it's calling out to me?" he asked. "It doesn't seem my type." He shrugged and studied the vial. "What do you think it'll be?" he asked. "Boy or girl? Last time, the blond mage told me Tara would be a girl, and she was."
He paused, uncertain. Whatever was wrong with the vial he held in his hands, he would take care of it. "Well, whatever it is--I hope it gets along with Tara. So, is that it, then? You'll be sending me home, or do you want to tell me more about this vial?"

"Yes." Nigel stated, a flat expression on his face as Theo examined the vial. "I'm quite certain that it's yours." He hadn't made a mistake yet, and the redheaded mage doubted that he would any time soon. "And I don't know. The gender of your child-to-be is not my concern." Really, he wasn't interested in idle chatter. If anything, Nigel was a man who preferred his solitude - he wouldn't have even had his daughter, Megg, if her biological parents had not left her to his care when they'd passed.
"No, that would be the jist of it." Nigel said before snapping his fingers, starting up the magic that would send Theo back. "Have fun." Or something. It wasn't his problem anymore, either way.
