 Today, snow covered the ground and there wasn't a cloud in the deep blue sky. Winter was not Yuiko's favorite season of the year. The reason for this was that as a fashion forward person, what was most stylish wasn't necessarily what was most warm. In fact, now she was shivering and she was trying to keep warm by hugging herself. Her nose was also dripping clear mucus. She thought she must've looked a mess and not stylish at all. "Even though Yuiko is cold, Yuiko is cool!" She was in denial.

 Risu shivered a bit as a gust of wind blew past her ears. While she was better off then others due to her extra layer of fur, the cold still bothered her. She was out by herself today, InuYasha and Kagome were a bit busy and had simply sent her off to do something while they went about their own business. Noticing a girl shivering nearby, she giggled a little to herself as the girl made an attempt to fend of the cold by sheer force of will. The girl seemed nice, and she had been told to try and talk with people. Looking at the pink haired girl she glanced up at the girl's matching pink ears. Those reminded her of InuYasha and she quietly squeaked out a question. "Are you a Hanyou too?"

Yuiko squealed. "Nice style! You're cute and f-fluffy and this is such an adorable little kimono." She thought this other girl looked interesting. Her clothes were much more practical and traditional than hers. Also unlike herself, her ears and tail weren't catlike.
Hanyou? She had only heard that word in reference to people of mixed descent, like the transfer student whose parents met on a USA military base. "Yuiko is f-full-bl-blooded J-J-Japanese." Her shivering was making her stutter.
She did say she was a hanyou. I wonder what she's mixed with. It'd be so cool if it was something exotic, like French. While she though, her eyes sparkled, as her head was filled of images of runway models, haute couture fashions, handsome men with hot accents, and the like. "What kind of-of hanyou are you? If-If you don't mind Yuiko asking."

Risu squeaked a little at Yuiko's sudden enthusiasm as it had surprised her a bit. The girl's comment made Risu feel rather embarrassed, though she could tell the girl was getting cold as she was beginning to have difficulty speaking. Risu was a little confused about the Yuiko's answer though, she had asked if the girl was Hanyou, not where she was from. Suddenly Risu was asked a question herself. Nervousness flew over her. She should have expected this, as it was a normal way to hold a conversation from what she'd seen. Once again she barely managed to squeak out an answer. "Mo-momonga."
((Momonga is a Japanese Dwarf Flying Squirrel, if you look it up you can see it. biggrin ))

Yuiko had to lean in close to hear her answer, because she had a soft, squeaky voice. "Wait, momonga isn't a pl-place. It's..." Then, something clicked. "Oh! Yuiko f-f-finally g-got it! You are one. Yuiko..." She tweaked her ears and tail. "...has these, b-but isn't really a cat. Where Yuiko is f-from, until you c-come of age, you have them."
"What's your name? You already know Yuiko is Yuiko. And what are you doing today? Yuiko was just g-going to take a walk" Then, she sneezed. "But now, Yuiko is thinking she should go inside and get some tissues and tea."

As Yuiko explained her ears, and understood what Risu had originally meant with her question, Risu became less confused. She blushed a little (well, she would have been blushing if she didn't have fur) at the implication of what Yuiko had said. She understood what happened when one came of age, even if it was vaguely, though she doubted it would ever matter for her. What did confuse her was why Yuiko would only have the ears until that moment. However, due to the fact they all came from different places strange things often happened. "I-I'm Risu." She whispered. "Risu w-wasn't told to do anything... other then walk." Risu glanced over at a nearby shop. "I smell tea there." She said softly, pointing towards the small cafe seated on the corner of the street behind her.

(OOC: Balls, this is late. Sorry about that.)
"It's g-great meeting you, Risu!" Now, Yuiko figured she was the shy type. That was fine. Still waters run deep.
Yuiko was glad Risu pointed the cafe out to her. She felt warmer just thinking about heading inside and getting a cup of hot tea. "Wow, you have a good nose. Let's go!" After that, she ran to the cafe. Then, she looked back at Risu, winked, and said, "It's my treat." She thought it'd be even nicer with a companion.
