The mission would never be over. Never ever. Millicent was running through the cold, trying to make it to the grocery store. She had her Jedi robes on once again, but had thought ahead enough to wear a thick sweater under her tunic, in order to better keep herself warm. She was happy to see that it had snowed and was very tempted to jump in a snow pile and make an angel here or there, but she knew she had a mission…
Fun times would come after the mission, always.
She was getting near the grocery store, sort of, when she saw someone on the path she was walking. Oh! Someone to bother about giving cans! This was perfect! If she could get some cans from this girl, and lots more cans from people inside the store…then she would be set!
Though, she would have to stop at about twenty or so…Yoda backpack only could carry so many!
The child ran up to the older girl on the sidewalk and made a little noise. “Excuse me! Hi! I’m Jedi Knight Millicent, and I’m on a mission to save the city from hunger! Won’t you help my cause and come with me to the grocery store and donate some cans of food? The hungry people will be very happy if you say yes! And I will too!”

Candice shivered as she walked outside. It wasn't that she disliked the cold, but more so the fact that she got cold! She had layered today, wearing a flowered beret, a long sleeved dress with a shawl over her shoulders, and gloves as well as knee-height boots. It might not of been the smartest idea to be wearing a dress, but hey, people still had to look good during the winter!
The box of clothes that she had just gathered from her own closet was held carefully in front of her. The lid was closed tight so that no snow or other unclean things would get into the box; she wanted the clothes to be nice and clean for their new owners.
When she heard the voice, she couldn't exactly see who it was, but it sounded like a little girl. Candice let out a small laugh and looked over her box to see a girl with magenta hair in a... Jedi robe? She laughed again, unsure why the little girl was in her robes.
"Sure thing, little one. I was headed towards the grocery store anyways to drop off this box of clothes." Candice bent over and put the box on the sidewalk. She wanted to be eye to eye to the little girl. Her hand tugged at the little girl's robe a little bit and laughed again. "But may I ask why you're in Jedi robes and all alone here?"

Oh. Oh this seemed like a fun older girl! She knew what Jedis were! Millicent gave a little bow then grinned up at her still. “Well, I am a Jedi! Thank you for noticing!” She thought for a moment, then laughed. “Wait! I told you I was a Jedi! That’s how you noticed! You’re tricky, Miss Lady.”
She twirled around though, letting the robes billow out behind her. “I’m helping for the food drive, and I’m going to do it as a Jedi, for the whole thing. I’m going to show the city that Jedis do exist, and that they can be super heroes, as much as those other super heroes are.”
Millie nodded her head, thinking to all of the senshi. Though…perhaps she shouldn’t have mentioned them…oh well! Maybe this nice lady wouldn’t really even notice!

Candice giggled a little bit at the girl's excitement. She loved the idea of someone as young as Millicent wanting to help the community. People were so self-absorbed in their lives nowadays that it wasn't uncommon for people to forget about the less-fortunate. She ruffled the girl's hair a little bit. "Well, Ms. Jedi Millicent. It is nice to meet you. I'm Candice. I don't think I'm a Jedi..."
She looked at the clothes she was wearing and then whispered in the girl's ears. "Or I'm just one in disguise!" Candice winked and smiled again. "Well, let us walk to the grocery store so I can drop off this box and get you some cans, yes?"
Her gloved hands went under the box to lift it and place it on her knees. "Ready to go, Little Jedi?"

Millie seemed pleased, nodding happily. “That sounds good, Candice. And you can be a Jedi if you want. I already have two padawans right now. Jett and Minny. They’re my best friends in the world and together we’re going to turn the whole world into a much better place to live in.”
She seemed very happy now, beginning to walk towards the grocery store once more. “I could always take you on as my padawan as well, you know. You would just have to promise to come to your lightsaber practices, and do what I say…and you have to promise to have a very good heart, okay? Do you think you can promise me those things?”

"Shh..." Candice tried shushing Millie. In a hushed voice, she spoke again. "Remember? It's a secret whether I am a Jedi or not. Or maybe... I'm just a ninja!" She looked at Millie and winked again. However, Candice was surprised to hear Jett's name and that he was okay with hanging out with a little girl.
"Jett... The dude with gold-ish long hair? I'm kind of surprised he's willing to hangout with little kids, but I'm glad he's having fun with you! I'm not quite sure who Minny is though..."
She managed to balance the box and hold it with one hand as she ruffled Millie's hair a little bit. "I'm not sure if I have time for practices, but I've been told I have a good heart. From Jett actually. Do you think that's good enough?"
Candice's arm eventually got tired and she had to carry it with both hands again. The trip to the grocery store wasn't very far and eventually, they reached the donation drop off station and she put down the box. She gave the box one final pat and hoping that the clothes got to new owners and then looked over at Millie. "Ready for some cans? I'm not sure what I'd donate though, so you're free to pick out a few!"

Millicent smiled. “Yeah! That’s Jett. He’s one of my best friends, and he’s my best student too!” She followed along to the store, then hesitated when Candice said she could pick out a few cans.
“Jett told me he would buy whatever I could carry, and I got a cart. He wasn’t very happy with me, but we got so many cans it was crazy! I won’t make you buy that many…but maybe like five? That will be a very big help to me and to all of the homeless people in the city! They’ll be so excited to eat!”
She dragged the blonde into the store and looked at the display of canned food, picking some out. “You’ll get me these?”
She was going to reach her goal! She knew she was…so long as she kept finding people to donate cans and to buy her cans! Maybe Jett would take her to the store and get her another fifty cans later! That would be awesome!

Candice rummaged through her pockets and fished out her wallet. Although the cans were not that expensive, she hoped she had enough cash to pay for them. People thought that she was weird for not having a debit card and just an ATM card, but it kept her from spending too much when she shouldn't. Once she calculated the prices of the cans and checked out if she had enough, she nodded and smiled at Millie.
"I can definitely pay for those," she said happily. "Go ahead and give these to me and I'll go pay for them. If you wait by the door, I'll hand you them there!"
She took the cans from Millie and walked towards the self-checkout section of the grocery store. In no time at all, she was walking towards Millie with the paper bag in hand with the cans. Candice put the bag of cans next to where Millie was standing. "There. That's it, right?"

The child nodded, picking up the bag of cans. Woah! Cans were so completely heavy! She had forgotten that! “Yeah! That’s it! Huh! I’m going to need to bring a wagon or something next time I decide to go begging for cans! I don’t think I’m going to be able to carry much more than this!”
She laughed, then walked outside of the store, putting some of the cans into her yoda backpack. “I’m going to go home now, Candice!” She stood up and lifted the now half full bag, sighing in relief. “I’m going to go put these in my pile! I’ll donate them when I get my two hundred and twenty seven like I’m trying to get! Thank you very much for your help, and maybe if I see you again, I can give you a lightsaber lesson, okay?”
She grinned, then waved. “Bye! Bye Candice! I’ll tell Jett you said Hi the next time I see him! Take care!”
The child stepped off then, almost falling over with the weight of the cans, but then broke into a run. This was just training too! Weight lifting! Yay! Another wonderful day on her hero trials!

"I've seen people do that, but remember, a lot of cans will still weigh down the wagon!" She smiled at Millie's enthusiasm. Candice half wished all of the kids she's seen were even half as enthusiastic as Millie when it came to helping the community.
She waved at the little girl as she walked away. "Take care, Millie! Don't be afraid to ask someone older for help carrying those cans when you finish! Or at least get more than one wagon! And yes, I'd be happy to join your lessons next time." Candice laughed. "Hopefully it'll be indoors or a different season though!"
Candice turned in the opposite direction and started to walk home. She was happy to see the holiday spirit of giving infect not just herself but many other people. She took a look back at the bin where she dropped off her clothes. "I really hope that more people will be willing to give up a little bit this holiday season."
