To Kiume, it didn't feel like it had been long since he left his pride... Even though it had probably been weeks. This time Kiume was coming home with a surprise. Hopefully Moake wouldn't be too upset with him for it,m but regardless, he was happy with the outcome.
The colossal mountains towered above them as they journeyed closer, their pointed white crests seemed to plunge into the sky. "We're so close, Raposa." Kiume said, rose eyes turning to give her a grin of childlike excitement. Despite the days of nonstop travel, Kiume still has as much energy as he ever did. Running between neighboring prides was his responsibility in the pride, after all.
"We don't have ... weird fruit to eat, but we have all the meat you can get your paws on. It'll be nice to finally have a meal instead of a snack." Kiume chuckled, swiftly trotting across the dirt at just the right pace so Raposa doesn't fall behind. "That's my favorite part of coming home after a long journey. Well, one of my favorite parts..."
The cheer from the young' cheetah's voice faded as he remembered... "There was one thing I forgot to tell you." An apologetic smile stretched across his face. "The lions up here are... Eccentric. It's okay, though, it just might take some getting used to!" The behavior of the lions of his pride were completely normal and acceptable to him, but he realized outsiders might think otherwise.

Raposa tilted her head at him, her green eyes sparkling at him, a smile on her face. She'd had the best time traveling with Kiume. His endless energy and their endless talks had made her really come to enjoy his company, and made her care for him more and more with each step.
Once they began to see the mountain tops, her breath had been stolen by their beauty. Yes the Maru clan lived high up, but nothing like this. They seemed endless, the mountains rose so majestically above them, that Raposa couldn't help but laugh with joy.
" Oh Kiuma, how could you ever think of leaving such a beautiful place?" When he mentioned the lions, she frowned at him, and sat down, " What do you mean by odd Kiume?" One thing was for sure, she never planed a party without all the details, and she applied that to certain aspects of her life, this was gona be one of them.

"They are beautiful, aren't they?" Kiume smiled, and tilted his head skyward to admire the glittering tops. He hadn't really taken the time to appreciate them since he was born and raised here... he took them for granted. "Oh, well it's my job to leave. Heh, I mean... I'm just a scout. I see different terrains and prides, and then I share that information with my leaders." Kiume swayed gracefully as their steady pace brought them closer ever so slowly.
"Oh, well..." Kiume paused, wondering how he should describe the lions of his home. "Some of them are... blessed. By our gods. So they have visions and see things that normal felines can't see. Once in a while, they have fits... A lioness that can 'see' is very special." His rump slowly met the ground as he sat and eyed Raposa, hoping his explanation wouldn't ruin the trip and have the female change her mind.
A rabbit peeked through the foliage to spy on the two cheetahs before him. He snarled at the sight of Raposa, but at least he would have his Kiume back home with him. How long he could tolerate her presence was another question entirely.

" Oh, so you're like a Crier from my own Pride. They go from Clan to Clan spreading news, and telling others about our celebrations.," she smiled at him, " its a very important job you know. I can see how your Pride would trust you with it."
She tilted his head at his explanation, " They are god touched, my Pride have many stories about those that are god touched, it never ends well for those that are. We had a young lion come thru not so long ago that was god's touched. Poor boy looked more haunted then blessed."
Raposa, stood up and twined herself around Kiume, " Are they cared for Kiume, when this happens? Your Pride respects them and treats them with dignity and honor?

"Yeah, sort of like a Crier!" Kiume glanced at the ground in a sudden spurt of bashfulness as Raposa complimented him. "Aawh... Well, I don't know if it's that important... they would live on just fine without me." The male shrugged his shoulders modestly as he pawed at the ground.
Kiume's grin faded as she described the haunted young lion that wandered through her pride. The cheetah nodded slowly. He had never thought of it in that perspective before. He had always been so envious of the blessed lions. What did they have that he didn't have?
Kiume nodded vigorously at Raposa's next inquisition. "Oh of course. It's a very very special thing when a blessed lioness receives a vision." Kiume smiled, slowly standing and tilting his head as if to ask her if she was ready to continue. The young cheetah was getting restless, and it was easy to tell by his tail. Of course there was the sisters he didn't even know about... the well-hidden lionesses that went insane from the constant visions they had.
Moake rested his paw on his chin as he watched the duo. He was obviously disgruntled, but at least they didn't seem to be making goo-goo eyes at each other. That, he wouldn't be able to tolerate. At least he can formulate some nasty plans to send Raposa running downhill while he waits.

Raposa bumped her head under Kiume's, purring lightly as she scent marked him, continuing the motion with her neck and back, " Then I can live with that. The lion that came to rest with us, was...broken somehow, beaten down in his spirit and body, it made me want to shed tears for him. I don't think I could stay in a Pride that treated its god touched that way."
The female looked at her might be mate, then down at his tail and gave another one of her breathy, light laughs, shaking her head, " You know it is a rather handsome tail Kiume, but it give you away a lot, and right now it is telling me you'd much rather be on the road again the sitting her letting me show you how much affection I have for you."
With a long lick to his muzzle she moved past him, then looked at him over her shoulder with the same laugh in her bright eyes, " Coming Kiume?"

The flurry of emotions Kiume felt as Raposa started showing so much affection caused the poor inexperienced cheetah to freeze up. He was thrilled by her scent and the feel of her smooth fur against his own, but was he allowed to show how much he liked it? He wasn't sure how to behave in a situation like this, and it rendered him stiff and speechless.
"Oh, uh!" Kiume tried to snap from his daze as he stumbled back towards Raposa. "No, that's not it, heh! I'm just really excited to show you my home on the inside, that's all." Kiume blushed and lifted a paw to swipe his mane from his eyes... probably more out of anxiety than anything. "You... you can, uh... Sh-show me some more when we get there... If-if you want to."
Moake gripped a twig, rage building in his little arms as his grip tightened. She was doing this on purpose.. She must have caught his scent, or something. Moake's glare intensified, and for a moment he wished he wasn't such a weak little rodent. He'd snap her neck as easily as he'd snap the twig in his paws.

" Oh Kiume, you have a lot to learn about how to treat a lady if you want to warm a den with her," Raposa laughed again in good humor. She may have been the shy wall flower of her clan, but she had friends, and friends talked, and she'd laughed and teased with a number of them. So while inexperienced in a lot of ways, it seemed she had more then Kiume over all.
The female licked his ear, and lifted his paw to swipe away the fall of his bangs, " You're so silly Kiume, all you have to do is relax around me. Treat me like a friend, and the rest will come. Just like it did that night we were dancing, remember?"
The pretty young cheetah gave him one of her brilliant smiles, full of fondness that was solely for the scout in front of her. " You don't want me to go home now do you Kiume?
With a long lick to his muzzle she moved past him, then looked at him over her shoulder with the same laugh in her bright eyes, " Coming Kiume?"

"I'll try, but..." Kiume inhaled, letting the breath go along with the majority of his anxiety. "I don't know what you're doing to me!" Kiume chuckled and swayed playfully as he pranced ahead up the base of the mountain slope. "If it was up to me, Raposa, you'd stay here with me for a long time." Kiume licked Raposa's nose and smiled. "But it's up to you. I'd never force you to stay."
Moake set the crumbling twig aside and crept after the two felines as they moved up the mountain base. He was determined to find a way to sabotage their relationship, one way or another. With a sudden burst of inspiration, Moake's devious blue eyes twinkled with devilish ideas. If he couldn't send Raposa running, perhaps he could find a way to turn Kiume on her.

" Kiume,I am doing exactly what you asked me to do. I am getting to know you better, and you know what! I like you more and more every day." She bumped him with her shoulder and intertwined her tail with his.
" If your Pride is as wonderful as you are, and the lands and beautiful as this beautiful as this, I couldn't imagine not wanting to stay as long as you were next to me, certainly as a friend, and well...maybe more if it grows into that."
Licking his nose one more time she purred at him, and very contently followed him up the mountain trail, her tail still wrapped with his rather handsome one.
