I personally agree with Anonymous. Their MESSAGE is just, and their INTENTIONS are good. Some of their policies prove problematic, however:
Anyone is anonymous if they say they're anonymous. They is no 'join' button. Thus you get a bunch of pricks who think they're bad a** cause they bought a ten dollar Guy mask, and can carry around a sign about freedoms.
No leadership: Anyone can say they're an anon, set a HORRIBLE example, and ruin the name of Anonymous, thus stunting growth, and expansion.
There are good things too, so don't say this is an unjust, pessimistic, post.
By having Anonymous be truly Anonymous, people can spread the message without fear of judgment, criticism, arrest, or Any of those other worries Superman must have had to wear those stupid identity "hiding" glasses.
Now then, While I suppose Anonymous' Message (Smaller Government, the Government should be afraid of the PEOPLE, not vice versa, freedom to do what we want with our own lives) There are some people who abuse this message for self-gratifying means.
I can HONESTLY say that while I approve of Anonymous, Occupy Wall-street DISGUSTS me. Rapes, Murders(thankfully low in number), ruining business for others. The Protesters are going off about being the 99%, yet the small business wo/men who work in that park operating stands for a living are losing money. They have the right to protest, however, by sleeping in the park, they're no better than the disgruntled homeless. If they really wanted to make an impression, they'd dress up a bit, look professional, and come across as real people, with real issues, and not as druggies and wanna-be-hippies who just want legal drugs.
Keep in mind, your rights end where another's begin. You have the right to own a gun, you do NOT have the right to pull the trigger and end another's life unless it was to save your own. You have the right to protest PEACEFULLY. You have the right to free speech. We need to realize how lucky we are that the Army hasn't gone in a massacred all those protesters. They DO need to be arrested and removed. It's a Health Hazard, and it's vagrancy. Both, as far as I'm concerned are illegal.
While Anonymous is a good organization, with good intentions, and a good message, their name is being slandered. Why? Because guess who you'll see among the protesters? Anons. You see the masks, and you connect those masks with the yelling, the signs, the torn up jeans, and the lack of hygiene.
As I said. They may think they're badass and "Anonymous" But they just come across as post-adolescent teenagers who need to grow up and realize they've actually got it pretty good, and that protesting as they are is ridiculous. Yes, we, the people, aren't happy with the economy. What is the rest of the world thinking? "America is great, the economy goes downhill, and it's people throw on Guy Fawkes masks, and start screaming and committing crimes. This is definitely the America I've heard of. Land of Dreams, Prosperity, and Opportunity."
I honestly wish Anonymous would do something to try and get the Occupiers to give up and go home and start trying to make an impression on the people who can actually change things. No government figure is REALLY going to take you seriously. Yes, they can say,"Oh, you poor thing, you took out a loan, and now you can't pay it back... It's ok, your already broke government will make the big bad loan shark go away." Where did consequences go? They're thinking,"We'll give them money, and they'll go away, Hope China doesn't mind...."
We need to stop demanding money from the government and start trying to get the economy back up on our own. Yes, the spending the Government's been doing is ludicrous, but what was the Anon message? That the Government should be afraid of the people, not vice versa. Do you think the Government is afraid of the Occupiers? You're a fool if you do. The Government is afraid the Charasmatic, clean cut leader, who knows what he's talking about, and has the backing to get things done. If someone REALLY wants a say in the economy. Buy stock. No, it won't turn a profit right now, we're in a depression, even if they won't call it that. How did we get out of the last one? War. Do we want to need WAR for this one? Put a little trust and realize that ANY company who receives sufficient funding will do well. If you feel that the Stocks aren't a good idea, then go to the place that houses those who are to blame. D.C.
I live in UTAH, and we have occupiers in SLC. WTF are they doing there? PROTESTING THAT FARMS SMELL BAD AND ARE MAKING THEM POOR? No. The economy is the fault of the government, and THAT is where we need to take it. Protest in the day, go to a house, apartment, or hotel by night. Don't got money? You're so close to the providers of bail outs, why not ask them for one?
Alright.... my rant is over with... just can't stand Occupy Wall-street.... Normally, Anon's Operations are legit... but this has turned into a horrible, insane, out of control scheme, and while a lack of control may be good in some cases, it's not in this one as is clearly demonstrated by the crime rates.
So.... yeah... Thoughts? :3
