Don't get me wrong, but some People are just plain silly. They go into topics and make false claims, and no matter what, are completely convinced they are right. Most of these people just happen to be christian. A lot of christians are great people, i know because 99% of my friends are. (I live in the south 8D)

People also claim themselves to be good christians, they usually aren't. Whether it be hating people because they are atheist, or cursing regularly.

Oops! I forgot to say what to discuss!

Stuff that they do that pushes your buttons, the shiny ones that you aren't supposed to push. You know, the ones that have their own little glass cases over them.

I just don't like when they try to take over the government and destroy it by turning it into a theocracy. America is based on "freedom" and not dogma.

ROFL! You know what pisses me off about all Christians? I've had quite a few come to my door and it is always right as i'm getting ready to sit down for a meal. Maybe they just stand by your door and smell it to see if it's the right time to strike. I had a group that even refused to leave my door until i threatened to call the police. LOL rofl . Not only that but i'm a little creeped out by the way they act. It's like they are brainwashed or something. Only those that are brainwashed could say Jesus fifteen times in the matter of two minutes. It's insane! stressed

It annoys me when they go on about how you need to 'accept Jesus into your heart'. Jesus is dead. He died over two thousand years ago. He is not his own father. He is simply a man with some good ideas that were completely misinterpreted by everybody else.

Also, I dislike when they preach love and that God is the only power, and yet they judge people daily for different beliefs. And why is it that while God forgives them, people whose only fault is difference in religion or sexuality are forever condemned?

Don't get me wrong, I don't dislike Christians, but their belief system is faulty.

Just to clear things up a bit...

"Accepting Jesus into your Heart" simply means recognizing that, as humans, we are not perfect and are in need of grace to go to Heaven. According to the Old Testament, the only way into heaven is to live a pure life. In order to pay for their sins and "set the record straight," so to speak, Jews had to offer sacrifices to God in place of their sins. (In order for them to gain life, something had to die, etc. etc.)

Since obviously people can't live perfect picket-fence lives and stay pure and holy without fault for an entire lifetime, people were doing the animal sacrifice thing an awful lot. God sent Jesus into the world to sacrifice for the sins of all time: past, present, and future (Good Friday, Crucifixtion, etc. etc.) By dying on the cross, Jesus offered himself as payment for the sins of all mankind. (The word Catholic means "universal," ie, Christ's gift to the universe, not just "God's chosen people.")

In order for Christ's payment to be applicable (and to get to heaven) one must believe that this is the way things are. Obviously, if you hand someone a check for $100,000,000 and they don't believe it's a valid check, it will be worthless. Christians believe that in order to get into heaven, one must recieve God's grace by believing that Christ died for their sins. This is what is meant by "accepting jesus into your heart."

People who practice other religions are not forever condemned. They are simply condemned. But that's not really saying much because everyone is condemned since everyone has committed sin and therefore, everyone is going to Hell. HOWEVER, Christians (by definition) believe Christ has paid for their sins on the Cross and they are the only ones who can recieve a ticket out of Hell (where they were headed in the first place.) In order for someone of a different religion to be "redeemed," so to speak, all they have to do is believe in the whole Christ thing.

NOW THAT THAT'S OVER WITH...

Here are some things that get me mad concerning Christians:

Sunday Christians: people who go to Church every sunday and think that means they will go to heaven.

Super Evangelizers: people who spend all their time telling everyone else how sinful they are. (speck, plank... you get the picture.)

Bible Thumpers: people who believe everything the bible says...

NIV Thumpers: people who read the New International Version of the bible and fail to recognize the fact that THE BIBLE WASN'T WRITTEN IN ENGLISH. Duh.

And here is the proverbial cherry on top of the ice cream sunday of my pet peeves...

ANGSTY CHILDHOOD ATHEISTS: people who were raised christian and developed a reaction formation because it was "boring" or it just didn't "connect" with them. People who are anti-creation, pro-gay or pro-choice just because it is the popular idea, an easy stance to take, or are just too lazy to do some real research on a topic.

Thanks, that makes much more sense.

The people who hang around by the bookstore et cetera and sing at the top of their lungs (in horrible voices, no less) about how Jesus is the only way really tick me off as well.

Just to clarify, the number of Christians who do these horrible, aweful and terrible mean things is very small, and an almost-insignificant minority. The only reason they tarnish the name of an otherwise good religion (which is not saying much, considering how "good" religions get, overall) is because fools laugh the loudest.

Again, allow me to clarify. Very small percentage. Fools laugh loudest. All that jazz.

Oh, and I don't think it's possible to have someone be pro-gay marriage or pro-abortion just because it's popular. In many cases, anti-gay and anti-abortion is more popular (just look at the "Land of Opportunity").

i personally happen to be very fond of Jesus. he teaches nonviolence and reconciliation.

i cannot imagine an old grey haired deity on a throne in the clouds zapping everybody and if there were one i would not accept it.

the problem with any kind of group, like christianity, is the same as a friendship group. let's say i am friends with josh and kate, no problem.

but josh is friends with matt and kate is friends with tara and those two can't stand me, nor i them.

i don't want to break up my basic friendship, but i also don't know what to reply when somebody says "oh you're with josh and kate's group? how can you justify what matt and tara just did?? well...?"

Individuals that claim to be Christians and damn things without even knowing what they are about (i.e., Harry Potter).

Hello, Pslams 23:4-

"Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I fear no evil, for You are with me..."

Which means, if you believe in yoru higher being, you can look into things that may be potentially dangerous and discover if they really are or not.

Ignorance is not permitted. xp

There is no since in arguing with them anymore, they've made up their minds... but my ex-friend who is penicostal (how ever you spell it...?) called me one day and started this debate that lasted about 2 hours, and ended with her in tears...

She was telling me i was going to hell... oh yeah... and when i brought up the fact that since god suposably made the world in 7 days, and put humans on it like on the 4th or 5th day (i don't know...?) I asked her what happened to the dinosaurs... they were around and dead millions of years before humans...

She actually tried to say... an I quote...

"HOW DO YOU KNOW THAT THE GOVERMENT DIDN'T JUST MAKE DINOSAURS UP?"

what tha hell!!!

evil

Well my point..

(-sigh-)

I hate when christians go to extreme and retarded lengths to try and support that their religion is right...

When it comes to Christians, I admire their passion and I understand why they do what they do. But when it comes to religion I think to each it's own. That's why it annoys me when they constantly preach about how their way is the right way. I mean I understand it's a pastors job to preach. However when some hard core Christian gives me a lecture about it in the bathroom, that's taking it a little too far. Yes keep beliving what you believe in. But if I someday want to go back to becoming a Christian someday I will come to you. Until then, let me believe what I believe in as well.
Anyway, as for evolution, I don't see why some don't believe it. I mean Darwins theory of evolution is the most widely accepted theory so far.
It's the most widely accepted theory becacuse it's been proven true time after time so far. Any religion is faith based. For example people believe in God even though God isn't there like my computer or television set is.
Who says you have to believe in either one or the other? I mean maybe Darwins theory along with some spiritual force was how we evolved.

LEts just start with I have major beef with the extremists. Now I used to be catholic now Im Wiccan. I like Christian people unless they get started on how I should convert and yadadada I think it started out as a very good idea but people twisted it into something horrific...with that out of the way here is the list of things that really grind my gears:

The real commandments
-Thou shall not worship any God before me and if someone else does we shall rant yell kill ridicule and do anything to change them
-Thou shall not make any Idols of me BUT you can make plenty of my son who is wait he's part of me ohwell you get off on a technicality and feel free to shove him into everyones faces
-Thou shall not flaunt my name because that is annoying it is meant for private use when you are speaking to me or about me with fellow followers
-Thou shall keep the sabbath day holy (nothing really wrong with this but if you notice take away the h in sabbath and you have the word that means Wiccan/Pagan Holiday coincidence I think not)
-Honor your parents another good one that they havent tainted as far as I know
-Thou shalt not kill unless it is mass murder in the name of God (Annalation of the Aztecs)
-Thou shall not commit adultery but you can divorce and be foresworn
-Thou shall not steal unless it is from another religion and they refuse to convert (Bridgit a name for the Triple Goddess now St. Bridgit because celts would not convert same thing with the image of the devil)
-Thou shall not falsely accuse UNLESS it is to cleanse the world of other religions (Witch Hunts)
-Thou shall not covet well this is a load of crap in this day and age out the window with you

Now if they used the George Carlin version I think we would all be alot happier well actually I think every religion should use these

Thou shall always be honest and faithful
Thou shall keep thy reilgion to thy self

*I use example with Wiccans or Pagans alot just because thats what I know most about but I do know they have wronged just about every other religion in the world
