Our Most Ancient of Ancestors

In the beginning of our history, we were a nomadic peoples, following the patterns of nature in order to survive. The planet was wrought with natural disasters, and our tribes would often feud over land, food, and safety. Our first King Helic brought our people together under a Republic with such dedication to peace, that we became drawn together in order to defend it.

Under the reign of Helic's son, King Helic II, his brother Zenebas was shunned by the politics of the government, and fled. Zenebas created his own empire, and by doing so, disrupted the peace, and brought unto us a worse war than we ever knew.

The battles that followed were a race to control land, and led our once united people to become divided. Despite the division being between only two groups, our hearts were left shattered. Our loved ones... family and friends alike... were lost, or suffered great tragedies for our sake. We owe our protection to them.

Not long after the battles for rights to the land, a spaceship dubbed "the Globally 3" crash-landed on our planet. From the planet Earth, these humans were stranded. Their technology was shared with us in their negotiations for peace, and with this technology, the arms race flew.

The Dark Continent of Nyx

With the addition of human technology, the Republic developed the Ultrasaurus to trump the Empire into retreat. The motion was a success, driving Zenebas to fall back to the Dark Continent, Nyx. The return of Zenebas caught the Republic off-guard, as Zenebas recaptured his old castle. It wasn't long after his return that Zenebas struck back against the Republic with the Deathsaurer. Its power was too great for the Republic to take on with standard battle tactics, and guerrilla warfare became the Republic's defense until they could come up with a counter-measure.

Guerrilla warfare took place in the Central Mountain Range, where smaller Zoids than the Deathsaurer were more useful for battle. With the manufacture of R24 Zoids to match the E24 Zoids produced by the Empire, the Republic finally released the Mad Thunder to counter Deathsaurer. This eventually drove the Empire back, where Zenebas's plan was to look to Nyx for help again. Zenebas was betrayed by Guylos, whose Dark Zoids easily overtook the weakened Zenebas Army.

The Republic took arms against these Dark Zoids that attacked the Central Continent, finding the continent of Nyx to be a rather desolate place, composed of volcanic terrain and ashen valleys (which composed The Devil's Maze). The terrain was difficult to navigate, and led to drawn-out battles with the mysterious Zoids. When the Republic sent King Gojulas to the field, it looked like it would be their victory, as the battles began turning-out in favor of the Republic.

Sadly, that was not come to pass, but rather, the battles were ended by the destruction of Nyx. A meteor had collided with the planet's third moon, which caused it to shatter and fall down upon the continent. Much of Nyx was sunk by the fragments of the moon, and the passable region between Nyx and the Central Continent grew - the region, being filled with electromagnetic storms, was no easier to pass through. The Dark Zoids were nearly obliterated, and what was left of Guylos relocated away from the storms. The Republic also retreated, but to the much safer Central Continent.
