Also known as "the Heartlands," the basin contains the river valley of the Niben. It's mostly an open, agricultural area where the Nibenese Imperials hail from. The Imperial City is located on an island at the base of the Niben River. The city of Bravil is located on the banks of Niben Bay.

It was about Miday on the Corbolo river, a small boat was making it's way upstream towards Cheydinhal. In the boat sat a tall, lean Breton man, Thomas Rielle. His long brown hair tied back in a ponytail, his grey-green eyes darting about, watching the beautiful scenery around him. He carried with him rather extravagant arms and armour.
For armour he wore a brown leather jerkin, as well boots and gloves of the same make. Beneath this very armour was his clothing. A silken white shirt with gold patterns sewn into the sleeves and black silk pants. Placed carefully on the deck were his weapons, a lightly enchanted Silver Longsword, a light iron shield, and a beautiful, curving elven dagger. Beside these weapons was an ornate white mask. It was a personal touch, made him look quite mysterious.
The sword had been in his family for ages, it was an heirloom, really. It was imbued with a simple enchantment causing it to emit a faint light when drawn. The dagger he had found while exploring an Alyeid ruin back in his wilder youth. The rest was all basic equipment, nothing special aside from the fact that it was, mostly, custom made.
The Bard had been travelling for quite some time. Almost a week, to be precise. He was travelling to Cheydinhal to meet a client. The journey had been quite calm thus far. A few confrontations with Bandits and wild animals. Nothing he couldn't handle. Although, once he reached the Imperial City, things calmed down quite a bit. The Niben was rather calm.
The adventurous Breton allowed his mind to wander, remembering the adventures of his youth. It took him quite by surprise when he reached the Reed River, but he managed to steer the boat into the tributary river. It wouldn't been long now. With any luck he would be arriving in Cheydinhal before dawn.

Shortly after his departure from Cheydinhal, Thomas found himself back at his boat. The trip back had been harder, on account of the supplies he had been hauling along with him. Books, maps, weapons, repair hammers, lock picks, torches, scrolls, potions, food, extra clothing, and so forth. But he eventually made it. Hopefully those two brawlers would show up. If other Mercenaries were after the same relic, some extra muscle would help greatly.
He was now storing and fastening the equipment in the ship and getting her ready to sail. He was no longer wearing his mask, it sat on a bench near the ships rudder. He looked out at the river, if his information was correct, he would have to sail back down it. Once in The Niben Bay, they would continue south to the Panter River.... Getting past The Mouth of The Panther would be a trick. Bah, he'd cross that bridge when he came to it.

Altos glared at Higuera and muttered, "Damned, child..." too quiet for anyone to hear. "That's just dandy! I can't wait." Altos let out a hearty Nord laugh.

As the boat made its way down the river Thomas replied "South, into Blackwood,, The Panther River to be precise.. Once there we'll be looking for an Alyeid ruin along it's banks. Once there, we are going inside, hunting an old relic." Thomas had always wondered what made Alyeid artefacts so important. Magic, of course, but ultimately they were the bread and butter of many a mercenary.

"Those slavers sure did know how to make mystical relics, eh?", said Altos with a bit of a chuckle in his voice.

Higieara let out a hardy laugh, "Good one Nord, good to have a companion with a dark sense of humor" He lifted a hand onto the Nord's shoulder.
