The large black mare stood grazing near a softly trickling river. The periwinkle markings softly shining in the sun. Her kind eyes keeping watch on the hills and her surroundings. Her ears twitched as she turned to face the river, and began drinking from it. It had been a hot day and she could not seem to get enough water. She turned again, taking a few steps away from the bank and continued to graze.

The goofball trickster had just finished actually getting around to putting frogs in the apple buckets. It was a disgusting taste in his mouth, but totally worth the annoyed squeaks and barks the two-leggers made. Apparently they attributed it to this ' El - Kneenyo'. It had rather upset Zeddler that this other horse was upstaging him. So he went off to brood, spotted a black mare, and decided some good old'fashioned silliness was in order. He snuck over and stood there, looking all studly and what not ( not really... Zeddler wasn't all that awesome of a stud... ) flashed a grin and said, " Hey there. Nice feathers. " Oh yeah. Smooooooth as molasses.

Mercedes tried to hide a jump of surprise and looked up at the stallion. He was so oddly coloured, though she was too she thought to herself. She was at first confused at his feathers comment and then looked at her hooves. "Oh, well thank you" she said politely after finishing her mouthful of grass. "I don't think we've met before" she said bowing slightly "I am Mercedes" she turned her blue-ish purple eyes upwards to him when she bowed and smiled a little. His light blue eyes were accentuated by the splash of white across his otherwise brown face. "You look as though you are upset, what is wrong?" she asked

Yay! A flustered reply! His ego was still intact at this point. How could one deny the awesomeness that was him! Oh the joys and wonders and.... What?
Apparently her reply was more subdued than what he expected. Aww...."Zeddler. " he replied in his state of mild shock. With a flick of an ear and a quick spin around to see what was going on around, he too decided to take a nibble of some grass. Maybe it tasted better here than at the. . nope. Tasted the same. Must be the soil. The bow and what not was not noticed. He ain't one much for formalities. "Nice to meet you Mercedes. "
Those bright blue eyes peered at the female at her very astute observation. Glancing around to make sure no one but this was was about, he then whined loudly and pathetically. "Some other Azerin is taking credit for my wonderful pranks! Its depressing and upsetting and ego bashing and and and...." His lower lip quivered, or at least the equine equivilant of that happened, in his upset state. "I don't like this 'El-Kneenyo' guy at all! "

Mercedes smiled receiving his name, she was used to some not bowing so it did not upset her or even phase her. "It is nice to meet you too Zeddler. I am sorry to hear that someone else is taking credit for your hard work. But you should not let it get to you. You're allowing who ever it is to have control over you" her voice was flirty and she winked as she finished her sentence. Surely he was old enough to know this, but she had learned this lesson time and time again. "Don't give him that power" she said with a short nod before getting another mouthful of grass.

Her flirty nature wasn't picked up at all. Oh the words were heard, but Zeddler just didn't want to hear them. It was the ' I already knoooow this. ' syndrome. he instead sighed and eyed the obviously wise woman.
"Anything else, Mom? " he said with very heavy sarcasm, and ever obvious testiness. It was a little rude, but really! He was upset. He had been hoping for a distraction not a morality lesson. Had he wanted a lesson he'd have pestered the King person man human thingy. Was it a king? Huh. . . Technicalities of leadership were always a bit sketchy at best.
"Any other words of wisdom you care to share? Cause gods knows, nothing spells 'distraction' like 'morality lecture'. " An ear flicked and he started walking away. Yes. It was extremely childish of him, but his ego was already wounded. And, in his point of view, lemon juice and salt had just been poured onto that wound.

The mare's eyes flared with anger, she had merely been speaking with him not lecturing him. She snorted and reared up whining her displeasure. "You think you're all high and mighty?!" she snapped and galloped in front of him, blocking his way. "No wonder they wouldn't give you the satisfaction of hearing them talk of you pulling your childish prank, they knew that if they said anything your head would grow with ego and most likely explode" her ears lay flat against the back of her head and her nostrils were flaring. "How dare you treat me like that. I could have ignored you or not heard your story even though I knew you would be whining. You take too many things for granted, the world doesn't revolve around you" she finished her speech with an emphatic 'eff you' by rearing up, slamming her hooves down onto the ground just barely missing his head. She stepped out of his way and bucked once to get her point across and turned her back to him, and went back to grazing even though she was so angry that she was just ripping up grass and leaving it where it once grew.

Zeddler flared his nostrils as he pretty much sat through her, albeit just, rant about how childish he was going about this. True... he was. But it just plain hurt that someone else was getting the blame for his pranks he worked long and hard to pull off. Oh he longed to retaliate with a childish ' You try it then ', but that probably would have brought him a loose brain at this point in time.
... Plus she was mangling the defenseless grass. With a snort, he pawed at the ground in irritation. "You asked. You didn't have to tell me I was completely in the wrong for wanting at least a little credit. Gee. Next time, I'll just sit there and do absolutely nothing. Boy..wow. that sounds fun. " And then he was completely and utterly bored of her.
She was labled a 'killjoy'. No sense of humor whatsover, no sense in sticking around. "And here I was thinking that a nice looking mare like yourself would ignore the stupid whining and change topics to something far more interesting. " Taking a few measured steps to get out of her hoof range, he lowered his ears and spat out with a calculated risk, "You probably wouldn't know 'fun' if it threw a yolk around your neck. "

Mercedes snorted in anger and turned on her back hooves. "Oh I was supposed to change the subject? You know you can do the same thing just as easily! But no, instead you decide to blame me for your crappy day" she stood in front of the stallion, ready for a fight. Her muscles were tense and her ears pinned back still. She could not take her anger out on any more grass, and decided to take it out instead on the stallion for which it was meant. "I'm sure changing the subject to something not relating to you would hurt your pride just as much" her voice was thick with hatred.
