Spirit: A very dedicated student doctor was on a placement in a hospital that typically found itself overcrowded and understaffed. There were so many people to help.. and she couldn't find it in her to leave when so many needed her attention. She helped dozens of people in the 38 hour work shift, at which point, she lost consciousness and died of exhaustion, literally working herself to death.

Chloe Amelia Ferox Drake Namesake: Chloe means 'green shoot'. It was the first thing that came to Ki's mind when she first met her. Amelia is her grandmother's (Ki's mother's) middle name. Ferox is the type of flowering cactus that Chloe's spirit used as a vessel. Finally, Drake is Ki's last name.
