~ Diego Casanova, or best known as El Diablo Loco! ~ Diego, or Diablo, was born in Valentino, Capital City Vazquez to Emiline and Lorenzo Casanova. Sadly, the Casanovas couldn't keep him, so they took him to a Monastery, with its own Vineyard, where he would live out the rest of his life. Diego grew up at the Monastery with several other children. He made a lot of friends pretty fast. But while all of his friends were either getting adopted, or their real families finally came back for them, Diego was still wondering where his family was. When Diego was twelve it was just him and five other boys living at the Monastery, and this was when Diego's loneliness really set in. So he became a slight bit of a bully to one of the boys living there; A much shorter, and much weaker boy. Diego didn't care that he was hurting the poor boy, all that mattered was that he was taking his anger out on someone. Well, many years had passed- More like four years- and eventually it was just Diego and the Weaker boy he used to pick on, and many more orphans had come and gone since the bullying began. And he had no intention of stopping. . . Until one day. . . Diego and the Weaker boy were playing at the lake, Diego went to push the boy into the water knowing very well that he couldn't swim. But the boy turned around and punched Diego so hard in the face that it rendered him unconscious. Before the boy could face any dire consequences, he was adopted the next day by Arturo and Mina Escudero. And now Diego was completely alone. He distanced himself from the other teenagers and children. It had stayed that way for a year. Diego had felt so alone. So misguided. He felt as though he had nobody to turn to so he could talk to them about his feelings, and just when he began to bottle up all of his feelings. . one of the Priests, Father Sanchez, took Diego under his wing and taught him everything he knew. Surprisingly Diego was very receptive, and soon changed his ways. He was no longer the hurt and angry bully that he had been for so long. A year later, Diego's eighteenth birthday, he didn't have a choice but to leave the Monastery; The rules were that if the children weren't adopted that they could stay at the Monastery until they were eighteen. Father Sanchez was sad to see Diego leave, as was Diego, but Diego had smiled and said, "I'll be back. Don't worry." And left to go explore the world. . . But he soon found out that the world wasn't as wonderful as he had been taught. It turned out that the world was a very terrifying place, and at this rate he decided to try and go back to the Monastery. He never found his way back. In fact, a woman about thirty-two found him and took him into her home. She gave him food, clothes, a place to sleep, and even put him to work in her garden. Diego had lived there for about five months when one day the woman approached him while he was working. She gave him a rag to wipe his face and neck off with, and gave him a drink of water, Diego expressed his 'Thanks' by offering her some water as well. . but she had something else in mind. She took Diego into the house, and had him walk with her into her Master Bedroom. Diego had no idea what was going on, but as soon as he was inside of the bedroom with her he saw her lock the door. The woman made her way back to Diego, who was a bit frightened by what was happening, and soon she took his virginity. The two of them had soon gotten involved with each other; Diego fell madly in love with her, and on their second year of being together Diego was going to propose to her. He bought her a ring, and flowers- her favourite kind- and he remembered that she loved figurines, so he bought for her two small figurines of themselves. When Diego got home, he found his love of two years sitting on the steps; assuming she was there waiting for his return. He walked up, smiled and presented her the flowers but before he could give her the ring she said to him, "Diego,. . I'm afraid you have to leave. The military found my husband, and he's coming home to me." Diego could feel his whole world crashing down around him when he heard her say that. She then said, "It turns out. . I never loved you. I just only missed him." Feeling broken, Diego threw down the figurines, which broke, and threw the flowers at her feet. He didn't tell her about the ring he bought for her. There wasn't a point. Now homeless, Diego managed to sell the ring for some money. It wasn't a lot, but it got him by. Diego had been homeless for a couple months after that. He was living in boxes, sometimes he'd sneak to a nearby church and fall asleep in a confession box, he was lucky if a ship was docked for a day or two- he would sleep there. Well, one day Diego was looking for food. He hadn't eaten for a couple of days, so he was desperate to find something. He had found a half-eaten loaf of bread, and a half-empty bottle of alcohol, and so he began feasting because he was so hungry. But out of the shadows came a man, holding a gun, he wore tattered pants, worn out black boots, and spiky red hair. The man tried to kill Diego for the bread and the alcohol, but Diego fought tooth and nail to keep his food. The man tried to shoot him, but Diego was far too quick; He disarmed the man, and shot him repeatedly. Now almost in tears Diego took what little money the man had, along with his clothes. And just after he finished putting the man's shirt on, another man ran down the alley way where Diego was staying, "Did you just shoot this man??" The man asked, Diego hesitated but he answered honestly, "I-. . . Yes." Diego was expecting the man to turn him in- He took a life, for Heaven's sake! But the man instead shook Diego's hand, congratulated him, and gave him a very large reward; A couple thousand gold pieces was the reward. Once Diego realized that he could make an easy living being a Bounty Hunter. . He jumped all over that opportunity. Not only was the money good, but the women couldn't resist a man with money. After he officially became a Bounty Hunter, he changed his name to something that people would respect, fear, loathe, and love. . He changed it to something fierce. Something smooth. Something creative. Diego Casanova was no more. . he was now El Diablo Loco. Photographs, from childhood to now:

The Adeltrauts~ Hal Adeltraut was born in Valua's lower city, to the blacksmith and his wife- Abraham and Lillian Adeltraut. Abraham died shortly after the birth of his son, and what little income they made from the smithy was reduced further. Lillian took the job upon herself, though she was not as skilled as her late husband. When Hal turned eleven, one of the smithy's most loyal customers Captain Rafe, invited the boy to work on his ship instead of apprenticing under his mother. Hal hastily agreed, having always been enthralled with the uniforms and weapons that sailors came into the shop with. Lillian agreed to let her son go, as the captain was a family friend and offered to take him in at no cost to her. It was Hal's fifth week on the ship when it was attacked by pirates.
He and the other children on the ship hid as they were instructed, but Hal watched in fascination as their merchant ship was looted. When the raid was over, Rafe assigned the boys to the task of looking over the inventory to se what they had lost. The loot taken by the pirates turned out to be worth more than ten of the Adeltraut's house, and an older sailor mentioned how they were lucky to have only lost four lives on their side.
Three years and five pirates attacks later, Hal and a few of his friends decided that they had enough of hiding, and took part in fending off the boarding party. Unfortunately for them, a handful of 14 year old was no match for any number of pirates. The boys were captured and taken aboard the pirate's ship in an act of what they soon realized was mercy, as Captain's Rafe's ship was shot down once all the pirates returned to their own vessel.
The captured boys were placed in the quarters of the pirate captain, and they soon found out that the ship they were on was called The Gem, the flagship of a small fleet captained by a woman named Ruby Chalce. Ruby herself was a brilliant but rather eccentric leader, who commended the captured boys for their bravery and immediately put them to work on her own ship. The strangest thing about the Gem wasn't the fact that their captain constantly wore furs and an obnoxious amount of jewelery, or that she regularly collected cabin boys as well as material things while raiding ships, or even that she employed her own daughter, Garnet, as a cabin girl.
What was really strange was the fact that Miss Garnet assisted Hal in most of his chores, and had apparently convinced her mother to give him a larger cut of any loot shared with the crew. Of course, Hal didn't notice any of this and happily went about his business, sending most of his earnings back to his mother in Lower Valua.
The days on the pirate ship passed faster than days on the merchant ship. Hal turned sixteen and Ruby declared him too old to be a cabin boy, and promoted him to deckhand- earning him more difficult tasks and higher pay. While he and the boys he had worked with on Captain Rafe's ship stuck together for most of their time on The Gem, though Miss Garnet was almost constantly hanging around with them as well, and as such Captain Ruby made it no secret that she favored "Rafe's Boys".
By Hal's eighteenth birthday approached, he was shocked when instead of the usual new outfit, Ruby presented him with her fleet's newest ship as a birthday gift. The rest of the men who worked with him on Rafe's merchant ship, and Garnet, and a few older sailors chosen by Ruby were moved onto Hal's new ship as the crew.
Ruby re-christened Hal's ship the Horrid Pride, and it remained in her fleet for two years before she gave Hal her "permission" to go off on his own. Finally out from her mother's careful watch, Garnet made her move on her new captain, and they were forced to turn around and track the Gem back down to present Ruby with her granddaughter. After undergoing a series of attacks and finally a marriage ceremony by Captain Ruby, Hal directed his ship to Valua to see his mother for the first time in ten years. He left her again, this time with an armful of gold to fix up their old home, and a promise to come back rich.
After three years of successful looting, Hal had acquired enough wealth to buy his mother a house in Valua's upper city, and though she protested at the excessive luxury of it at first, she finally accepted and settled into her new home. Garnet returned to the Valuan mansion before giving birth to her son, and he remained behind until his father came to take him onto the ship when he was ten. At the same time, Ruby decided to retire from piracy and stay with Lillian.

* Jaklyn Morgana aka "Jak"
Real Name: Ann Marie Towe *It's you typical story of a little girl who sustains a serious head injury and loses her memory. Jaklyn "Jak" Morgana was born Ann Marie Towe to Mr. Alexander Towe and Mrs. Gilda Towe, a very lower middle class family. Mr. Towe worked on board one of the many Valaun air ships as the ships as chief engineer and Mrs. Towe worked as a maid to help her husband make ends meet. Ann Marie was one of those babies happily referred to as a "surprise". From the moment she was born her parents lavished affection on the small child and despite their limitations, gave the girl anything and everything she wanted. By the time Ann Marie was two years old she was the most spoiled child in the poorer middle class section of the Valaun capital city and her parents couldn't have been happier. Everything would have gone on this way for years had little Ann Marie not gone missing one day in protest to her mother's wishes. Mrs. Towe was going to be attending a formal garden party and little Ann Marie had been invited. The spoiled rotten four year old wanted nothing to do with the new pink lacy dress her mother had made nor did she want to go to a party. When her mother's back was turned Ann Marie ran out of the house and kept running until she couldn't run anymore. It didn't take her long to realize that she was hopeless lost in the slums of the city with no hope of finding her way back home. This didn't stop Ann Marie however, she wasn't your average four year old and she refused to let anything scare her! Well...except animals. Ann Marie hated anything warm, fuzzy and wiggly. BUT back to the story! She turned around and started back the way she came. On her way down an ally Ann Marie met one of the wiggly and fuzzy creatures she so hated and feared. A dog. This dog had been tied up outside of his owner's small hut all day without any attention from anyone, so naturally when he saw itty-bitty Ann Marie he was beside himself with joy. The dog jumped at Ann Marie who, misunderstanding his intentions screamed and fell back words. She hit her head on the cobble stone road knocking herself out. When Ann Marie woke up she was inside of a very small hut alone and completely unaware of who she was and how she got there. She tried to get up and leave but as soon as she moved she became sick allover herself and passed out once more. When she awoke she found that this time she wasn't alone. A small old man with almost no hair was sitting beside her petting a dog. Ann Marie learned that this old man had taken her inside his home when he found her outside laying in the street a bloody mess. His name was Jackson Morgana and he was a former sailor who had retired many years ago. He told her that she had been knocked out for almost a month and feeling bad for the little girl had happily taken her in to nurse her back to health. Ann Marie was of course confused. She certainly didn't know this man and she certainly didn't know the "wiggly thing" in his lap that kept trying the lick her face. Jackson promised her that he would help her find her parents and while he did so she could stay there with him. For months they looked for her parents and no one ever turned up. They never gave up but after a couple years of the girl living with him in his small hut it became apparent that she wasn't going anywhere. He still wouldn't give her a name however and referred to her as "Girly". By Ann Marie's 14th birthday Jackson had raised her to be a sweet, soft spoken tomboy. He had taught her everything her knew about airships and sailing and made sure she knew how to not only take care of herself but how to use a weapon if she needed too. Ann Marie loved the old man as if he really had been her father and she would go out of her way to show the old man just how much. Things did not stay this way for as long as Ann Marie had hoped they would however. One winter, shortly after Ann Marie's 16th birthday, Jackson became ill and couldn't leave the bed. No matter how much he assure the petite red head everything would be ok, Ann Marie knew better. Almost a year after he fell ill Jackson Morgana finally passed in his sleep. Ann Marie was beyond consolable. A friendly neighbor took her in and gave her food but she refused to accept it. After a month of silence Ann Marie collected her belongings one evening and disappeared. She had heard of a man named Emilio Eshowe who was looking for anyone who knew anything about sailing. She adopted the name Jaklyn Morgana in honor of her adoptive father and even allowed her first name to be shortened to "Jak" as she often playfully called the old man when he had annoyed her. It didn't take Jaklyn very long to find Emilio. He had set up shop in a pub on the outskirts of the city. The rumors where true and he was in fact recruiting people for his crew but he was not very keen to Jaklyn joining his ship. Emilio's first mate, Rosalind Eshowe his wife, talked him into allowing the girl to join promising that she would look after the girl so she won't "be a bother". Under Rosalind's watchful eye Jaklyn became the ship's cabin boy. Ros taught the girl how to fight and defend herself and how to stand up to the men when they tried pushing her around. Emilio took notice of Jaklyn's progress and her habit of fixing the smaller mechanical devises without being asked too. He decided to promote her to the engine room where she met Alexander McCray, the ship's chief engineer. Alexander didn't like the idea of a girl being in his engine room but after seeing Jaklyn's natural talent for the job he quickly changed his mind. Jaklyn was a fast learner and before the year was up she had mastered nearly everything Alexander had taught her. It was a few monthly after her 18th birthday when it all changed. Ros announced her retirement and was replaced by her son, Sid Eshowe would had up until that point been out of the picture. Emilio, trusted his son but none of the senior officers trusted him. Jaklyn, despite Alexander's warnings became infatuated with Sid, who surprisingly returned her feelings. Jak was happy on board the ship. She had friends, a boyfriend who loved her whole heatedly and a job she excelled in. However, it did not stay this way. Once again. at 19 years old, Jak was forced to deal with the loss of someone she admired. Emilio had only one enemy, another blue rogue Captain named Carlos Emerson. Where ever the Dark Revenge sailed, Carlos was always there to get in their way. The fighting became more violent and both ships lost a lot of men. Emilio had had enough and with Sid's encouragement Emilio met Carlos head on in what would be the man's last fight. After years of fighting Carlos finally beat Emilio and dishonored his lifeless body by tying it to the front of his ship like a morbid figure head. Sid was beside himself nothing anyone did could talk him down or calm him, not even Jak. Sid went after Carlos but lost terribly to the much more experienced pirate. Sid threw himself into his liquor and seldom joined the crew on deck. He named Mr. Troy as first mate after announcing himself as captain. Many of the officers left the ship but Mr. Troy and Jaklyn remained by his side. Jak and Sid began fighting on a regular basses. Jak was sick of drunken state and Sid didn't care to hear her opinion. A year after Emilio's death they got word that Rosalind's health was declining. Jak insisted they rush to her side but Sid refused. He wouldn't be told what to do and his mother passed away alone on their island home without her son. This would be Jak's final straw. She packed what she needed and the next chance she got left the Dark Revenge and her captain. She met up with Skotti and his crew in Nas'rid And the rest they say is history. 4 Old Ann Marie Towe 14 year old "Girly" 16 Year old "Jaklyn Morgana" 19 year old Jak Jak Now Mr. Jackson Morgana Captain Emilio Eshowe Rosalind Eshowe Captain Carlos Emerson Alexander McCray Alexander Towe (Jak's Biological Father) Gilda Towe (Jak's Biological Mother)

~ Vincenzo Valero, or best known as "Sinister". Captain of the SS Deathwish! ~ Vincenzo, or "Sinister, is from the Isle of Ni, a continent well-known for housing High Elves. But that's all that's known of the mysterious continent. Though, if you asked the former resident Dark Elves of the continent, they would tell you that it was a place of unspeakable horror. Sinister was born and raised as a slave. For many years he was forced to serve in the High Elves' society, and though he never knew it but his mother was forced into slavery of a different kind. Sinister is proof of it. Sinister's biological father was a noble, a well-known politician, Sinister's mother pleaded with the politician to spare their son's life. The politician did her one better, he made Sinister a palace servant. Sinister went from working out in the fields, tending the crops, to moving into the palace where he'd live in servants quarters and wait on the family hand and foot. The life sounds easy, but it wasn't. Sinister was beaten more often inside of the palace than outside of the palace all because of what he was; An "abomination". The product of a nobleman and a slave woman. Sinister's life took a turn for the worse when he was fifteen; the whole kingdom found out about him, and what he was. He was kept in the dark about this secret up until that point. This was when he started getting beaten more often. But instead of getting killed, which was usually the punishment for Sinister's kind if ever a case like this came up (and there were plenty; Half-bloods were considered an abomination, and were often killed on sight if found out). Instead of getting executed, the politician had Sinister's mother killed at her request because of the promise he made to her; To keep her first and only son alive at all cost. Sinister didn't know how to live without his mother. It was bad enough that the only real father figure in his life was killed for standing up to a guard, but now his mother was gone, and ever since the secret came out he was shunned by his own people. People who he called friends all turned their backs on him because he wasn't a pure blood Dark Elf, and the Light Elves beat him more than usual because of what he was. There were days where he could cope, and others where he thought of offing himself. Religion wasn't a huge part of his life, but with no one to turn to he turned to some kind of higher power and prayed day after day, night after night, for some kind of miracle. A year went by, and that miracle finally came in the form of a rival kingdom attacking the city where he lived. In the mass chaos that broke out, Sinister escaped the palace and ran as fast as he could into the forest outside of the great wall that surrounded the city. He ran until he couldn't run anymore. Sinister was free at this point, but now what? He didn't know too much about surviving out in the wild. All he knew was which berries could kill you, what berries wouldn't kill you, what herbs to use and what herbs to avoid. But he didn't know how to build a small dwelling, and he didn't know how to build a fire or start one. Every day Sinister would move from place to place; The forest seemed to be so vast that he didn't know if it would ever end, until one day when it ended. He found himself in another town. It was a small port town, and the first beings he saw were Light Elves. At that moment he knew they couldn't be trusted. Sinister stole the first cloak he saw, and a pair of gloves to hide his hands. As he snuck through the town he saw it was no different than what he saw back "home", except here he would only be just another slave- nobody knew him here. Sinister tried to blend in as much as possible; He hid in every shadow he could hide in, he stole food, stole water, and clean clothes right off the clothes lines. Sinister robbed homes at night just to eat. When he made it to the 'downtown' part of the town, he found that restaurants throwing out food was a great way to keep fed. Sinister lived on the streets for two years until one day a great big ship, which turns out to have been a ship from The Empire of Morgan, came into port. The ship docked and was there for several days. One day Sinister snuck a peek at the workers; Some were people his age, of all races, working on the ship in various areas. Sinister went in for a closer look when one of the men, a tall being with dark skin and a bald head caught him sneaking onto the ship. The human looked down at the Dark Elf, at first it was a stern look like 'What are you doing here, boy?' but as the man looked at him he could see that Sinister had been through some things. So not even speaking a single word to Sinister, he motioned for the young elf to come aboard the ship. He gave Sinister a job aboard this prestigious ship. Each day Sinister was assigned a different job, and he learned a lot. Sinister lived aboard this ship until they sailed all the way back to The Empire of Morgan to a place called Morgansdale, which was a large kingdom and housed many people of all kinds of different races. Sinister didn't quite feel at home here, but when he tried to go back onto the ship the man stopped him, shook his head, and motioned for Sinister to walk straight ahead. What was straight ahead? Sinister didn't know. But without words, Sinister thanked him for everything, the man smiled and nodded and sent the young elf on his way. Sinister walked and walked in this city but didn't know exactly what he was looking for. The man only pointed him in this direction. Sinister was confused, but he kept walking until he came to an Inn of some kind. He didn't have a whole lot of money but the little money he had he spent it on food, and a place to stay for the night. In this place that he was staying, he overheard men plotting to steal money from a palace nearby. The plan was to take a ship over and steal said money, and whatever loot they could find, and get away. The plan was simple enough, and Sinister needed money in order to stay alive. When one of the men quietly made mention of getting a crew together for this job, Sinister walked over and volunteered to be on said crew. One of the men couldn't take "a little boy" seriously, but after telling them of his experience aboard the Ship from The Empire, the men suddenly fell silent. This landed him a spot on their crew. But later on that night he overheard one of the men telling the others to leave Sinister behind to take the fall. Sinister wouldn't let that happen. As soon as the plan was set into motion, he waited until the men were about to grab the loot when he offered to carry it all to the ship. The men allowed him to take the loot and the money to the ship, but what they weren't counting on was Sinister stealing THEIR ship and sailing away with all of their stolen riches. While the men had their hands cut off, and faced imprisonment, Sinister was rolling around in riches that they stole. About two years later, at the age of twenty, he knew he had to go back home and put an end to a certain politician's life. But little did he know that Ni Authorities were looking for him, but not for reasons that he thought. Upon entering Ni's Airspace, a patrol ship stopped him, and since Sinister was the only man aboard Ni Authorities took his ship and took him into their custody. They took him to The Politician that had sent for him. The man had Sinister come to his palace where Sinister was originally planning to murder him. It was almost too easy now. Sinister was biding his time; This man was long-winded, talking about himself constantly and talking about how things have changed "for the worst" with the shift in Power and how the "new leader" was driving the country into a direction it shouldn't be pushed in (because, you know, they can't have Dark Elves be considered equal to them at all). Sinister said nothing, and waited to pull out the pistol that he had hidden in his boot. And when the opportunity finally presented itself, Sinister stopped himself. He learned at that exact moment that killing his "father" would do him no good. A year later the man died of a terminal illness, leaving Sinister all of his money, his estate, and whatever else he had, and left his wife with nothing but the horses stable in the back. Sinister didn't care. He gave the billions to the needy, sold the estate and used the money to take apart an rebuild his airship so that The Authorities back at The Empire couldn't identify the stolen ship, and he kept the rest of the money for himself so he could live in the open sky. On his journey, sailing around Ciel, he made some friends along the way- though it was hard to make friends at first, but the few he took in on his ship were people with lives as bad as Sinister's if not worse. These people became his family, his friends, his people. And together they all sailed the open sky; When not stealing what they needed from other ships, they occasionally worked jobs- Mostly hits for money, and supplies, and whatever else they could get. Since taking on this lifestyle Sinister has been the most happy and content than he has ever been in his entire life. Photographs from childhood up to now:

~*~House Avalain~*~ House Avalain is a great and noble clan of dark elves with incredible influence within the continent of Valentino.
Family is simultaneously the most and least important thing to the house. A good lineage is highly respected and valued, and it is of utmost importance for one's offspring to uphold all expectations and grow into acceptable representatives for the family. That being said, bonds between family members hold little value- most marriages are arranged with political or financial power in mind, and it's unusual for children to be raised by their own parents.
Young Chali is the current heiress of House Avalain. As the daughter of the head of the family, she remained living in her father's house, surrounded by her parents, other family members, and housestaff for her protection, until she was eight. The head of House Avalain and his wife had another daughter when Chali was seven years old. Now with a backup heir, Chali's father sent her away to travel Ceil. She was to study other cultures and languages and prepare herself to be a proper future head of house. Chali's pet wolf, named Macaroni, has been with her since he was born and is fiercely protective of her.
Casimar is a distant cousin of Chali* and has been her caretaker for her entire life. When she was sent away to study the world, he was sent with her to protect and advise during her journey. He is old by human standards, but is still regarded by older elves as a 'punk-a** kid'. He's constantly griping about his rights as a senior citizen, despite being too young to experience a mid-life crisis.
Only a few months after the trio left home, they chanced to meet a crew of pirates. Chali, despite Casimar's protests, approached the captain and expressed interest in joining the crew. What dismayed the older elf even more was the captain's acceptance of of the request.
So, for the past three and a half years, Casimar and Chali have been travelling with Sinister's crew on the Death Wish. (*Chali and Casimar are fourth cousins thrice removed)

History Born in the jungles of Sido-Kan as the second child of a pair of unremarkable wood elves, Cylsa grew up learning to hunt with a bow and all the stealthy tricks it required. She left her uneventful village at age 20 to escape a variety of undesirable factors, the most persuasive of which being unwanted attention from harmless but annoyingly persistent ex-lovers, and the stern lecture machine that was her older brother. Her younger sister and the infant twins their mother had just given birth to were the only things that allowed any hesitation, and as soon as the babies began to wail, she was off. Once she began travelling, she did so for the thrill of it, and took joy in seeing all the world's sights. She spent a few days to a month in each of the places she visited, depending on how interesting the locale was and how wealthy it's locals were. Only days into her journey did Cylsa realize she was unequipped for such an adventure, and began using her skills to 'borrow' money and food from inattentive strangers. As her skills sharpened and her already foggy morals faded even more, she began taking more than she needed, but her traveler's lifestyle prevented her from taking all that she wanted.
She entered the continent of Soljgrad at the age of twenty-five, and was immediately offended by the harsh cold and lack of vegetation. Despite the undesirable environment, or perhaps because of it, the nords of Soljgrad fascinated the little elf, and once she found an inn with a comfortable fire and the sweetest, freshest mead she'd ever tasted, she paid the innkeep enough to rent a room for a month. During the course of that month she met an organized of warriors who claimed to be well-respected throughout the continent, providing their services to it's citizens in exchange for gold. (The fact that a company of sellswords proved to be more respected by Soljrad's people than the actual law enforcement amused Cylsa to no end, and to this day remains her 'in a nutshell' description of Nordic culture.) These warriors took as much interest in Cylsa as she did them, and while a few expressed their displeasure at an elf invading their homeland, most of them welcomed her into their small family after she pelted a particularly vocal bigot with an arrow between the legs (mercifully sparing his flesh from any impact, but making her ability clear). In the company of these warriors, Cylsa learned how to properly wield a sword at her friends insistence that a pair of daggers wouldn't always be the best bet in a close-ranged fight.
When her month at the inn was up, Cylsa renewed the rent for another month, and another, until she found herself married to one of the men in their company. She finally purchased a rather large home for herself and her husband, now with a place to stash all her loot, Cylsa began itching to continue exploring the world and it's riches, she also welcomed her husband's brother and another good friend from the company to live with them and keep the house and it's contents safe as she traveled.
Other stuff ✖ Cylsa and her husband adopted two nord children- a boy (now of 18 years) and a girl (16)- that they found living on the streets in different parts of Soljrad the same year they were married, and have their own three-year-old daughter who's appearance bears no hints that she is anything but a wood elf. ✖ Occasionally Cylsa's husband (and much more recently, her son) join her on her travels, but they are no fans of the empire and so did not accompany her to Morgan. ✖ The unwelcome greetings she receives from many places have left her with the habit of wearing a large hood to hide her ears when in a mostly human-populated city. ✖Though she hasn't returned to Sido-Kan since she left, Cylsa still favors food that hail from there. She has killed more than one man for the last pear at a fruit stand, and will proudly admit to doing so.

♔ Lady Britesa Lucina Malvales ♔ Britesa's father is a general in the Imperial army, as was his father before him, and his father before him, and so on. As far back as history goes, to the founding of the Empire, Malvales men have been serving at the top- often brushing shoulders with the emperor himself on occasion. A few generations ago, the family's long-standing service to the crown earned Britesa's great-great-great grandfather a lordship.
As Lord Malvales' youngest child and only daughter, Brit never received the same treatment given to her three brothers- while they were out practicing their swordsmanship, she sat inside and practiced piano. While they went out hunting, she and her mother would attend garden parties with the other Ladies. Her only solace was found in the self-defense classes that were expected of all noble ladies for their own protection.
A few days ago, Brit's eldest brother, who always took her side when she argued with their parents or the stewards, was stationed in a different part of the continent and had to leave home. With her strongest ally taken from her, Britesa fled her home in the thick of night, planning to travel the world. Paying a ship's captain to take her away would leave an easy trail for her father to follow, so she decided to stow away on a randomly selected boat docked at the pier...
She has a loyal cat named Colonel Octavius who she has brought with her on her journey to keep her company. He is the definition of a pampered housecat, and is none too happy about being stolen away from his mansion.

❂ Aryliah Solanum ❂ Like many dark elves that hail from the Isle of Ni, Aryliah was born a slave in servitude to the high elves. Her father was the Master's prized fighter- he would be pitted against men belonging to other slavers and never failed to bring his own master victory. Her mother, on the other hand was a house slave that served as a nanny for their master's children, and Aryliah grew up alongside them. The young master was only days older than Aryliah, and her mother had been his wetnurse, so the two were the best of friends before they were aware of a status quo. Even after they learned they should not be friends, they still were. The Master didn't speak to his children often enough to be aware that his eldest son was genuine friends with one of the serving girls, and Aryliah's mother only occasionally warned against the relationship. She had nursed and raised the boy herself, and so could not help but love him, but his father and the father of her daughter would not be pleased with the company their children were keeping, and so her gentle suggestions to cease this madness were always met with arguments from said children, and always ended with "Just don't let your fathers find out, or we'll all be in trouble."
Their fathers did find out, though. Every house has one slave who tries too hard to get on the good side of an owner who will never give them any respect, and the House Solanum was no different. When Aryliah and the young master were 15, another house slave ran to the Master and informed him that his son was fraternizing with a slave girl. When it proved to be true, the Master ordered the previously well-treated Aryliah beaten mercilessly. This enraged her father, began attacking the Master in turn. Aryliah's father was shot by one of the house guards, but the Master would not recover from the injuries he gave him. The Master's son, now the Master himself, told the authorities and anyone curious enough to ask that his father died after being thrown from his horse. In case the truth was somehow revealed, he freed Aryliah and her mother and bestowed his own surname of Solanum upon them, so no other houses would try to re-enslave them. He sent them both to the Mage's College to hide, and to learn, until the scandal of his father's sudden death blew over. After four years at the college with no word from her old friend, Aryliah began to travel, eventually running into a sky pirate captain with a crew of dark elves with less than pampered backgrounds. She joined his crew, feeling more at home among those pirated than she ever did at her Master's house, or at the college. Her classmates at the college weren't bad company, and her old Master's son had done more for her and her mother than they could ever repay, but none of them could ever truly understand the feeling of being happy one moment, and the next reminded that you're nothing but a piece of property. On the Death Wish she was among peers. Aryliah had been on the Death Wish for two years when a letter from her old friend finally found it's way to her. He bid her return to Ni and informed her that her mother had already come home. She replied with gratitude, but she had found a new home where every day was an adventure, but she would be sure to visit as soon and as frequently as her captain would allow.
✶ Aryliah is very soft spoken and chooses her words carefully, so one must be patient if they want to hear what she has to say, as she speaks rather slowly. Although she doesn't really get angry, it frustrates her to no end when people try to finish her sentences for her faster, especially when they're wrong. ✶ The beating that she took when her Master found out she had 'bewitched' his son left her blind in her right eye.
✶ She has not, in fact, gotten the chance to return for a visit to her childhood home and all the people there, but she maintains a frequent back-and-forth of letters with her mother and the young master.* *[[who I should probably name, but ugh]]
