I did this in the main music forum with great feed back, it's a sticky for two years now so I thought it would work nicely here too. Ok seeing how this is the Media forum make a request of what you would like giving examples of what you like and what you are looking for. For Example Quote: I'm looking for more Post-punk something like Gang of Four Wire Au Pairs Mission of Burma Aside from books I should be able to recommended you something. Edit: lol in case something is thinking that I just to the recommending that's not how this works.

Well. o.o I'm curious about hip-hop similar to the following; Immortal Technique Jedi Mind Tricks Killah Priest And I like a little Tech N9ne once in awhile.
It's really difficult for me to find new tings around that genre, because most of my music is guitar driven, rather than lyrically driven.
Also, rather than making a second post, I've always wondered if there are other bands such as:
Animals as Leaders An Endless Sporadic

I love Paul Gilbert, but honestly, I think Guthrie Govan is a better player.
Hadn't heard that song before, though. Before this one, my favorite by PG was Viking Kong.
Also, I wasn't a huge fan of the CunninLynguists song, and Binary stars seemed a little fast for my taste. (Which is weird for sure, coming from someone who likes Tech N9ne) Murs and Wu-Tang are good, though.
And as far as Liquid Tension Experiment goes, all you had to say was Petrucci, Portnoy, and Ruddess. I love Dream Theater.
But honestly, I hate James LaBrie's vocals.
I'd have to say LTE is comparable with Chickenfoot, being that they're both supergroups. xD

H0peless Romantic But honestly, I hate James LaBrie's vocals. That's most likely the main fan group of LTE lol.

Well, they seem to have more fun in LTE than in DT, as well. Explore less traditional riffs and such. And they don't limit themselves to one style like in DT. I guess LTE is just more versatile.
Edit; While I'm here, I'm also interested in bands similar to Killswitch Engage, All That Remains, Silent Civilian, Bullet For My Valentine.. etc. I'm not a fan of these bands' lyrics, but I adore all the... I wanna say minor scales they seem to use in their playing. And stuff like Shadows Fall is awesome too. I just hate their vocalist. x_x

I guess LTE is just more versatile. I remember listening to LTE with my ex and she was a big Tool fan and noticed how Tool just about copied a LTE song. She was all "what are we listening to, I've heard this song."

Man, I wish I knew of a band that sounded like this. Bring the ArsenalI found them through random browsing of that site. x] Also, while I'm here, I could use some tv shows to watch. I've been watching a few shows in the last few months, such as The Walking Dead, Being Human, Supernatural, really just horror-oriented shows. Just cause I find usually the time allotted in a mainstream film doesn't allow much room for detail. Definitely not as much as a book or television series. I am excited for the Walking Dead's second season coming out on halloween this year.
