This is a private RP between Sarangerel [Bikicakes] and A'Meiya [Matisha]

Setting:

The bathhouse, a time to relax and meet new people.
PostPosted: Wed Apr 27, 2011 4:09 am

Sara has never really visited the Oishiburo Bathhouse however it had been on a list for quite some time now. In the changing room she folded up her clothes and placed them neatly in one of the small box's provided. She grabbed a towel and wrapped it around herself, tucking it in on the top so it was secure. She wondered towards the entrance to the baths however on her way she caught sight of a mirror and for a second she looked over in its direction. She was not admiring herself by any means but looking at certain changes she noticed. She had gotten a little taller and lost some weight --- properly due to the fact so much had happened lately and she had been studying so hard she had been putting her meals second. Strangely enough she was starting to gain the body of a women which she could not say she really had when she left for this place all those months ago.

She flicked her long teal hair over her shoulders and took in a deep breathe, making her entrance. Straight away she was hit by the steam, it lingered on the ground like a faint mist. She wondered forward and before she knew it was at the edge of the bath, by the looks of it no one else was here which worked for her. She was always so shy around strangers and did not know if she wanted anyone to see her so vulnerable --- yet if anyone did turn up she had mentally prepared for that too. She dipped in her toe, it was incredibly warm, so much so she pulled it back. However she slowly made her way in, sitting down on the edge and carefully letting her body slip into it. After she had got in she had to admit it was a heavenly feeling, she laid back resting against the rocks, her eyes closed and all the little aches and pains she had spread across her body slowly vanishing.

Her hair fell over her shoulders and fanned out on the waters surface, her aqua eyes opening to look around once more. She wondered why she did not do this sooner, if she had come after her battle it would have made her recovery a lot easier. Her fingers raised to stroke through her long teal strands. Taking in a deep breathe... a genuine small smile creeping onto her lips. She thought nothing could disturb the peace but the young Mongolian's eyes darted over as he heard the door to the bath open once more to let another customer in...

If Sara had known A’Meiya, knew what she was about, knew how to work with her, calm her down and get her into that happy place where silence and tranquillity resided. If only she knew. Then this off meeting may have run along a lot soother. As it was A'Meiya was involved and it was never going to go down like that. In many ways they shared something in common, A’meiya had never steeped foot in this public bath house either. She had been banned from the others near her home for ‘indecent behaviour’ and ‘gaining access to restricted zones…with food in tow.” If A’meiya wanted to soak in luscious warmth she had traded it in for her mother’s pond at the back of the house. Hardly the seat of luxury. But now she had discovered another bath house and there was no stopping her from racing through the town from her training grounds stinking like a workman’s boot and twice as filthy. She didn’t even bother to wipe some of the dirt off as she flung her clothes, ignoring the specific boxes where others had folded their clothes so neatly. She didn’t have time for neat. If it wasn’t for last public baths warning of nudity she may have forgotten her towel completely as she skidded round corners, slipping and catching herself on walls over rockery as her feet padded on damp floor.

And there it was.

The ground level pool of steaming hot water waved before her, its heated wisps almost beckoning. Come relax. A yelp of joy escaped muddied lips as she grabbed hold of the half finished knot in her towel, the taunt ball threatening to unravel at any moment. She was quite now, carful to try and see through the mist at the lake of warmth before her. Was there anybody there? She had come at a quite time it seemed as no solid form filtered through, and that was all she needed to know.

“EEIIII! CANON BALL!”

If Sara had know the destruction of peace would come in the form of a half naked lunarian covered in filth and grinning like an idiot as they flung themselves towards her at breakneck speed, well, she wouldn’t be blamed for crying out just a little bit, but just a little.

The figure was now submerged in water, a dark shadow seeping out where she had entered the water after sprayed half of it everywhere. The muck and grime seeped off her in waves, becoming diluted by the steam and bubbles. She broke the surface with a lunge, the water cascading over her as her hair stuck like a wet cap to her scalp. She was now clea- …actually still as dirty but hardly as gross as when she first entered the water. Her eyes coming to rest on the now possibly drenched lunarian sat across from her.

“Oh! Oh no! Did I get you? Many apologies, I thought I was alone! Ma was right, always look before you leap…as crocodiles will certainly run off with you egg basket if you don’t…I think that’s right…but please forgive me!”

She bowed then, her body flopping to the bath floor in an overly strained bow, her head, body, feet, all submerged again in the water. Bubbles soon started to appear.

Sara did let out a small meep as a mixture of water and dirt preyed over her. She closed her eyes and let her hand defend her face instinctively . She waited until the water settled once more to slowly open her eyes, still unsure what had happened - she saw a flash of skin before the explosion in the water, but did not get a good look of the cause. She braved to open one eye, it drifting in to take in the sight of the Lunarian which had joined her, she was quite petite with pinky brown hair. She for the time being remained still, looking on in shock. The other girl was apologising, Sara nodded her head and bowed it slightly in her direction.

"Oh, it is okay... however they are really strict here about that kind of behaviour." She almost said childish however stopped herself because she did not want to offend the girl. She let a soft smile fall onto her face, to try and lighten the mood --- she was not by any means trying to scold the girl just warn her, she needed to calm down or she would be asked to leave and she did not want that. She raised her hands to her face and splashed it with water to was off any dirt which had sprayed on it. Trying to get herself back into the relaxed mind set which she came here to adapt. The girl sure was dirty, maybe she had gotten the wrong idea of what kind of bath this place was --- either way Sara was raised not to judge despite the awkwardness and strangeness of the situation. She straightened out her hair again and took in a deep breathe.

The fact that Sara was shy was not helping, she did not really know what to say. She fidgeted and held her towel close, maybe it was for the best if she left? She did not know after all that might think she was leaving because of the other Lunarian --- which was true but she did not want that to be obvious. So she instead said the first thing which came into her head. "What were you doing to collect so much dirt? Do you work on a farm?" She asked, her lips sealing together, she meant that in the nicest way possible. Sara herself was raised on one and used to come home in a similar state most nights --- yet afterwards she understood why some might take offence, yet she did not know how to correct herself. She just gave a nervous chuckle --- hoping she would see the funny side. She had only said it was because she was nervous.

After all she did not even have her clothes to protect herself, she usually made social no-no's when she was nervous, she was so much so a blush was starting to creep onto her face.

The bubbles had ceased their journey to the surface and with a gasp of air A'Meiya forced her way back up to the surface, the dirt and muck still coming off in little streams. She nodded franticly when Sara mentioned the behavior part, knowing all to well that she had been banned, and banned and banned some more from most public places. Not through any fault of her own of course...well thats what she would tell Ma anyway. She pushed her soddened hair back from her face and pulled an apologetic smile at the stranger.

"Oh i know, sometimes i can't help myself. Ma always said these places were for relaxing, but when i see an expanse of water i just can't help jumping in. Must be the coastal blood pumping through me." She tapped her arm at the inner elbow as if showing her which vein she meant.

"But i promise to behave now, just..don't tell anyone...please?" She placed her hands together as if in prayer and flashed another helpless grin, her eyebrows dipping to show she really, really meant it.

She pulled back then and leaned against the rocks placed carefully around them to give the building a natural look, as if they were in nestled deep within a mountain worlds away from what went on outside.

On the filth comment A'Meiya looked down at her hands as if she had never seen them before, turning them over slowly. It wasn't as bad now as before but the remnants were still patterned across her hand lines and under her nails.

"A farm? Haha no, am not allowed near animals on account of what happened to Dewei cat's....Dewei's my brother by the way, step-brother." She pointed out the fact as if it had, no, needed to be known and with no further mention of what happened to the cat she continued. Even if Sara didn't want to hear all the details A'Meiya was going to give them. She had no clue the other girl was feeling nervous, the thought of someone being shy didn't even cross her mind.

"I was training, in the barracks with Master Yomo." She nodded again, pride welling up in her chest as she thought on her days work. "He is a great man, my Ma would have no other train me, although she still doesn't like the idea of me training at all!" She giggled at this and dipped lower into the water until her shoulders were submerged, her eyes closed and she sighed deeply.

"I was advised to always relax after training...although now you mention it i guess i should have washed before hand...oh well too late now! You don't mind that am here do you?" The first hint of hesitation crept into her voice. But sadly if Sara had said yes to this A'Meiya would find an excuse to still hang around.

"I won't tell anyone... although it might be hard explaining the dirt to the owners." This girl was very cute and child like, Sara had often expressed the fact she wished she had siblings and when she looked at the girl she did see some what of a little sister in her. The way she acted and talked told her such; from her gestures to the fact she could not keep on one topic --- running her mouth off as quickly as she could. She shook her head and smiled lightly, maybe they would just have to sneak out before they could get blamed for the mess. It was not like Sara to do such a thing however she did not want to get in trouble and if she could help it she would rather the other girl did not either.

Thankfully the girl did not seem to pick up on the rudeness of her comment, she let out a small sigh of relief before tilting her head. "That's too bad, I love animals. I actually live with five wolves at the moment and back home with keep horses, sheep, cattle and chickens." Sara's life has always revolved around numerous beasts and creatures. She did wonder what happened to the poor cat --- however the topic had flown by before she could open her mouth. She had already learned so much about the girl, she really was what some might describe as a open book. It was not a bad thing, Sara being so shy usually relied on others to do most of the talking.

"Oh I see. I would not know much about training... mine is very different from most people's." Mainly because Sara was not training to be a fighter, physically she was very weak. Her power resided mainly in her mind and soul. She shook her head at her next question, a small stutter coming through. "N-no I do not mind, it is a public place after all." She gave a nervous chuckle, waving her hands in-front of her slightly. For some reason the girls sociable personality made her feel some what comfortable. There was no awkwardness on her behalf so she was not as closely guarded as the Mongolian usually was.

Pale green eyes rose to look at the girl in greater detail --- they were instantly drawn to her hair which had also not escaped the taint of filth. "... would you like me to brush your hair? I can get all the dirt out for you." She asked, she knew more than anyone if you left dirt in your hair it clumped up and was a pain in the butt to brush. Maybe it would be easier to do it now whilst it was wet. She liked brushing people's hair - her mentor did hers all the time and she often returned the favour. She reached over and grabbed a brush, things like sponges and other cleaning utensils were provided, though they were often not used for practical reasons. She wondered slowly across the water until she was behind the girl, running the brush through her hair gently.

She blushed slightly, looking to the side --- she was not used to touching other people, especially strangers.

The more she looked around her the more she saw the dark puddles of filth following her around like a tail. Her hands started to slap the surface franticly trying to push the muck away as if doing so would undo any damage. Her cheeks flushed red as her brows knitted together in concentration, the tip of her tongue pushed out to one side as she forced the water back till another patch came floating by. After what seemed like an age of pushing back and forth her shoulders admitted defeat and slumped back down to her sides, her tongue returning to its fleshy cave she wrinkled her nose to the failure.

"We could always say a dog got in here...no wait...a bear! Or some smelly stupid Legi- uhh!" Her hands slapped over her mouth in quick succession as if trying to push the words back in. Her eyes nearly popping out as she stared at the girl beside her and shook her head in furious denial. "I meant to say legi-chickens...yeah big mucky things they are..." Shamed she sank further down into the water, silently cursing herself. It wouldn't be the first or last time her big mouth would get her into trouble and she sheepishly twisted her hair into knots hoping the girl hadn't realized her faux pas

Her mood picked up a little on hearing about the animals and grinned widely at the list she trailed off. "I wish i could but the closest i get to animals nowadays are the koi and carp in Ma's pond...and they seriously don't like to be picked up, big teeth." She did a motion with her hands, her fingers tapping together like a mouth biting...although koi didn't have teeth it didn't stop her acting it out.

Ears pricking up at the word 'training' she grinned deeply."Well...how do you train without training in the fields and barracks!?" It was almost as unbelievable as koi not having teeth and her head cocked to one side as if she didn't understand. But her question was left happily unanswered as Sara opted to the fantastic idea of combing her hair for her. She exploded with frantic clapping as she nearly fell over backwards to allow the girl to do her thing, watching briefly as she gathered the necessary tools.

"Ohh thank you! You are so nice, i can't believe i haven't met you before!" It was as if she had lined up all the people in Lunaria and had missed her completely. She sat patiently, hardly moving which was a shock since all she had done since arriving was move, never not moving. She sighed again long and loud, a mixture of content and pleasure as Sara worked her hair to a silky texture. Her eyes closed to the steam that rose from the water she felt herself being lulled into much needed sleep. Her legs ached for rest, her arms cried out from the never ending exercise she had to do every waking moment she wasn't studying or having any life of her own. In this moment she almost forgot everything, that she was here in a public bath with a complete stranger, the chaos she had caused and would surly get banned for if she was unable to sneak out and the trouble she would get in for not calling home first to calm her mothers fears. All of it being combed out along side the mess in her hair.

"MMmm thank you again lady....i mean...wait...wait! I don't even know your name!" She froze briefly and turned, her proximity to the girl breaking all personal boundary laws as she looked up at her. "My name is Quan A'Meiya." She tried to pull off a very undignified bow and nearly slipped back into the water, any progress Sara was making quickly dispersed as she moved about.
PostPosted: Sat Apr 30, 2011 11:21 am

Sara could not help but laugh slightly at her comment. "It is okay, I have met some smelly stupid Legions also, however I have also met just as many smelly stupid Nobles... thank the spirits we are neither." She nodded, Sara had never cared much about alliance and chose to see everyone she met on a face to face basis. She was not offended at all by her comment, especially because of the fact the girl had tried to hard to take it back were as some would have let the statement stand. I guess that made it clear this girl was a Noble, however she doubted any Noble assassin would put on such a convincing act and attack her in such a public place. Though she was always told to keep her eye out for them --- many wanted her dead because of her powers.

"Well maybe next time we meet Nori will be with me, he is such a sweat heart and he loves being ticked behind his ears..." Even though Sara did have many acquaintances she did not have many friends, most of her strongest relationships where with animals and held the wolves she lived with very close to her heart.

"My training is more spiritual --- reading, preying and doing magic. I am training to be a priestess you see so I do not concentrate on the physical side of training." A few weeks ago she might have been scared of saying that to someone, to say her powers caused her so much trouble in her younger years ---- yet recently she was becoming more comfortable with who she was and what abilities she was born with.

Sara's face went bright red as the girl turned around, she could feel her breathe on her yet all she could do is freeze and look down at her with wide eyes. She was in so much shock she actually dropped the comb into the streaming liquid but did not realise. "... I am Sara. It is nice to meet you A'Meiya, can I call you Mei?" She asked with a small smile, her voice quiet because she was so close.

Sara thought for a moment and then reached for a bucket, she carefully skimmed the top of the water and poured the collected dirt on the side, smiling and passing another to Mei. Maybe this would distract her from the closeness --- it would also get them out of trouble.

A'Meiya returned her introduction with a smile that threatened to consume her face. "Sara? Your name is so pretty! and of course, Mei is such a good name, i don't know why Ma wanted those fancy bits added onto mine! I could get so much more done if i could just say my name was Mei!" She stated still very close to the other face, she really, really didn't sense the dread coming from the other lunarian and was more than happy to stay where she was if it wasn't for Sara's skilful manoeuvring to escape the hold.

Watching her grab the bucket it took a few seconds for her to realise what she was doing, at first she thought Sara was going to dunk the water over her head and the eagerness to retaliate was almost too hard to stop! When she saw she meant to pour the dirty water away the wet cloth she managed to grab subtly floated down to the ground, her throwing arm un-tensed as she treaded water towards the side to follow suit.

You could see A'Meiya was thinking again, hard, her tongue had reappeared as she copied Sara to drain the water of its taint. "Priestess huh? I've never met a priestess before. The closest person was Pother Nix, but he can't do all those lovely spells and incantations you can...or can you?" Her eyes locked on to Sara's to try and see the level of power the girl had, and failed.

"What can you do?"
PostPosted: Mon May 02, 2011 8:21 am

"Well my full title is Sarangerel Odtsetseg, however it is much easier for people to just call me Sara and to be introduced as such. It is not considered fancy by the tongues of my people but it is a mouthful." Her name was from Mongolian origin as was the names of most of the people in her village, they shared a lot of the same traits, from darker skin to thicker hair, she had often though her tongue was not as flowing are elegant as some of the other languages which the city possessed, however she remained proud of her own even though she was yet to meet another from the city who shared it. She smiled and looked on at Mei, tilting her head to the side a little.

"Thank you... If you like the name so much, why don't you introduce yourself as such? People will have to call you it if I can say your name is very pretty be it shortened or not. If I am correct Mei means beautiful, does it not?" The name suited her well, Sara looked to the side slightly with a small blush as her own name was complemented, she had never really gotten used to them - people gave them so her so much she did not know if they were being truthful or if they were just being polite. Yet never the less she was grateful for them, even if she was not the most graceful at receiving such kind words.

Sara did not know how to explain something she did not herself fully understand, she was born the way she was so her abilities were nothing out of the normal to herself. So she tried her best to explain and hoped that Mei would be able to understand. Sara herself often wondered how different her life would be if she was born normal. "I was born a Dead Soul Conduit, which means my powers reside in manipulating the souls of the diseased, I can communicate with them as well as use energy from my own soul to rapidly heal injuries of others, however I am still a student which means I can not control my powers as well as people above my station can --- I am yet to know the extent of my abilities, though that will come in time."

"That should do it." She smiled, all the dirt was not out of the bath and she could finally relax, Sara reached out and pulled herself to a rock, resting her head on it and letting her hair fall over it like a veil, the steam and heat was making her feel a little light headed.

Now the water was clean A'Meiya followed suit and rested against the pools rocky wall, her hair was still plastered to her head but smooth and free of clumps. Her time in the bath had freed her of all the dirt and she now just looked like a normal young girl out for relaxation. Her complexion, personality and attitude were betraying of her true age but it didn't seem to bother her as she listened to every word that fell from Sara's mouth, as if she spun words of silk she nodded, and agreed and smiled brightly when there was something said that she could work over in her mind and pull out a successful conclusion.

"Oh wow, that is a mouthful...Ooh-sests-egg?" The failed attempt at pronouncing her last name was lost in fits of giggles, whether Sara joined in or not was unknown as A'meiya continued to laugh. "Ha-ha oh, ha-ha I am sorry, my Ma always said i sound like I have bumblebees in my mouth! I am terrible at names, I am so glad I get to just call you Sara." She retorted with another fit of giggles before A'Meiya listened intently to the changing of her introduction and name, slapping the water in triumph.

"Of course! Why didn't i think of that! Ha-ha, your so smart Sara... heehee, well nearly." She wrinkled her nose in a pleasant way as she cupped her mouth with one hand and acted out whispering. "It actually means Plum, but Mei can be tied with Xiu Mei which means Beautiful Plum...but...I like it!...since I love plums...and oranges...apples, ohh and bananas too, when we can get hold of them of course!" The list would have continued for an age if Sara hadn't tactfully spoke about her soul conduct which stopped Mei from continuing. (especially now her stomach had begun to rumble)

She nodded slowly at the explanation of the soul conductor, but it was plain to see it had gone straight over her head. But there were obviously a few words that stuck a cord.

"So you manipulate dead souls huh? Wow...I didn't...I didnt even think that was possible...I mean don't get me wrong!" She shook her head in protest and took a step forward, very nearly taking hold of Sara's hands but instead held them up to her own face and pressed down on her cheeks.

"I do believe you, I promise! But i just thought....don't the dead wish to rest? I mean my Pa...my real Pa that is, he has long since moved on to paradise. I would hate for him to be brought back to be used...to be made into power against his will!" The tears were threatening to spill as Mei worked herself up into a panic, her feet now bouncing on the pool floor as she contemplated what had been said.
PostPosted: Mon May 02, 2011 9:29 am

"You will be surprised how many souls refuse to rest, anger, hate, jealousy, so many reasons exist to keep them connected to this world. Some feel robbed of life and some grow to resent the living, I was once almost killed by a man possessed by a spirit who's hatred for the Legion was so strong it gave her unbelievable power. One of my duties is to help the spirits who refuse to pass on do just that." She replied, there was a lot of complications when it came to spirits, even after death people's paths did not become simple. Man factors came into effect when someone passed, each spirit had to be looked at on a case to case basis, where as people like Sara played peace keepers. "Of course others stick around for other reasons, to see their children grow, to offer support to those who need it, most are awakened when called upon. Whenever you prey or speak out to a spirit chances are they are listening. My own Master, Master Shinto is the spirit of a man who came back when I asked for help --- he had been my teacher and friend ever since - spirits often offer their power if they think it will be used for a just course."

Sara looked over at Mei and then tilted her head, wondering over and putting her hands on her face, whipping her eyes. She did not really know how to comfort people, but the young and innocent aura Mei gave off was getting stronger. She was just like a little sister. "I am sorry to hear of your fathers passing... but know he is still alive, we never actually die. If you would ever find comfort in talking to him. I would gladly be the medium which allows you to do so." Sara's encounters with spirits often were random, however she was sure that if need be she would be able to summon a spirit - if the circumstances were right. Maybe she was lucky, even though no one close to her had died if they did she did not have to say goodbye like regular Lunairan's did.

The Mongolian put a small smile on her face, she had noticed the rumble in her stomach and maybe that would be something she could use to take Mei's mind off of the conversation. "Hey, why don't we finish off here and then we can go and get something to eat?" She asked, Sara's motherly nature finally having the chance to shine though. She could not really be like this with anyone else, no one she knew needed her to be like this.

The look on Mei's face was full of confusion and relief. You could tell the two sides were battling each other to win and she was struggling whether or not to cry hysterically or laugh. The gently touch of Sara fingers on her face brought her back to reality and in the end a steady ease swept her features leaving a very subtle smile, a few tear trails but overall a comforted expression.

"I would like that" she whispered softly as if all the giddy get up and go had been sucked out of her while speaking of her Father. A man she didn't get enough years with but would spend an eternity thinking off. "I could tell him of my training that way....and Ma...he would like to know about her of course....Oh and the this huge beetle I found the other day! It was as big as my head!" Just like that her smile returned ten fold and she was currently encircling her head with her hands to show Sara how big the insect was.

But of course it was the mention of food that really won A'Meiya's heart back. "Ohh...yes!! Yes please!" Sara couldn't have stopped Mei if she had told her, her father was standing right with them there and then. With a movement that revealed how swift A'meiya was and would soon become she grabbed Sara's wrist and started to pull her towards the exit, her legs pushing, and then jumping against the force of the water. "Com'on, com'on, am going to get three...no four plates worth, I can cause i work out a lot...well not really. But five will do me just fine...ohh we can race there too!"

The conversation would continue out of the bath house, through the minutes of drying and dressing and eventually out into the streets to find a place to eat. Whether or not Mei promise to eat any shokudou out of house and home would yet to be seen. But what could be seen from these two was a friendship ready to bloom whether they wanted it or not.
