"Seven, eight, nine, ten! You'd better be ready, I'm coming to find you!" Shania called out, loud enough that her little kitten Fancy and her familiar Carson could hear. They had been playing a game of hide and seek, and it was her turn to find them.
She opened her eyes and looked around for a sign of the two, but nothing stood out to her. She sniffed the air for their scents, and recognized both heading into a thicket nearby. She smiled quietly to herself and ventured forward as quiet as possible, only the thought of finding her friends on her mind.

Fable moved easily through the brush as the sun filtered through the trees above as though to light his path. Today was a lazy day, he had decided. There was nothing to rush off for and no place he had to be. No one he had to meet with. The sun was warm on his hide and it had settled him in an easy going mood. A lazy day, indeed. He pushed onward in his pointless wanderings before he heard a soft voice call out from some distance, I'm coming to find you...
The voice, at first, startled him. He hadn't expected anyone else to be in such close proximity on this fine day. Most Soquili he knew would be in the village today, helping the two leggers. Though that wasn't saying much. He didn't know many Soquili outside his own family. Curious to find the speaker, Fable headed for the thicket on his right. He thought saw a small creature duck under a bush in a tiny flash of black and white though he could not distinguish what it was. Turning back, it was then that he saw the mare.
She was very pretty. There was no way to deny that. Mostly white fur provided a startling background for her darkly hued rainbow mane and tail. But it wasn't until several moments later that he noticed the wings, large feathered things that she seemed to hold so comfortably in the air. He had never seen a Soquili with wings before, though he had heard stories. For a moment, he wondering why she was in the forest until he remembered the words she had spoken and the small creature he had seen hiding. Hide and seek. Oh. Though he remained where he was, he called out to the mare. "Oh. Should I be hiding?" He grinned sheepishly, feeling very much so the awkward intruder on her good natured game.

"Of course you sh-", she started to say as she turned towards the voice, only then recognizing it wasn't one of her companions. "OH! Hello. I didn't expect to meet another Soquili here." she said, a smile spreading across her lips. "I was just playing hide and seek with my friends Carson and Fancy. They're very good hiders and even better seekers, especially when I have to hide." She giggled.
"Would you like to join us? Perhaps you could help me find those two little sneaks." she said, hoping the stallion liked to play games as much as she did. "OH! I suppose I should introduce myself. I'm Shania Leigh, but you may call me Shania." she said bowing her head slightly.

At the startled response of the mare, Fable flicked an ear back worriedly. "Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to scare you or anything. I didn't really expect to see anyone else here either." The mare's easy going welcoming nature set him at ease and he gradually relaxed, giving her a loose smile. Sliding forward a few paces, he flicked his ears forward again to listen to her words. So he was right about the hide and seek. "I would love to help find them."
Tilting his head to one side, he thought back to the small animal he had seen just before. he hadn't seen any other Soquili on his way in so he assumed she weren't looking for equine friends. "Would either Carson or Fancy happen to be quite small? About this high," he gestured with a hoof about six or so inches from the ground, "and black and white?" Hmm. He wondered if it could have possibly been one of her friends. It was possible. Or he was just going to look like a fool. He tended to do that around pretty girls. But a nice game of hide and seek he could not resist.
He pulled away from his reverie, focusing again on the mare. Shania Leigh. Her name was sweet and pretty, just like her. Fable often wished he could pull off telling a mare something like that, but whenever he tried, the words never seemed to come out right. So for now, he remained quiet on the subject except for an increase to his smile. "Well, Shania, my name is Fable. I'm very glad to meet you," he spoke as he bowed his head lightly in return. He took a step back and gestured with a motion of his head over his shoulder to the brush behind him. "Shall we go find your friends? With both of us, they don't stand a chance."

She giggled at his description of them. "Yes, they're both very small, and both black and white. Fancy is a winged kitten, while Carson is a raccoon. Thank you so much for helping me. Four eyes are definitely better than two! Those two are very good at hiding."
"Fable, that's a nice name," she said smiling at him with her intoxicating smile. "It fits too. You seem to be a very nice stallion, especially since you offering to help me. Did you say you had saw them?" she asked, her voice lowering to a whisper.

So the two little familiars in hiding were a winged cat and a racoon. They weren't very big either. In the dappled light of the forest, it seemed as though it would be nearly impossible to find the pair. But he was determined to help the pretty mare win the game. It was the very least he could do for interrupting it before. "Yes," he agreed with a good natured rumble to his voice, "four eyes are definitely better." In side his head, his competitive side was coming out to play.
Her smile knocked him back a step. She really was beautiful. It amazed him. And it didn't really help his concentration much that she was omplimenting his name. A slight blush warmed up his cheeks under the dark fur. Stuttering, he tried to get back on track. "Uh. Yeah." He coughed, realizing he sounde completely incompetent. "I saw them back that way I think." Gesturing with his nose, he nodded towards the brush from where he had entered. "Come on, Ill show you." Taking a few steps in that general direction, he turned to see if she was following.

"You saw them? Great! Lead the way please!" she said, following behind him. She took this opportunity to take in the stallion's beautiful coat. She admired his colorful splotches mixed in with the black areas of his fur. She also noticed the two small wings on his back legs. This made her wonder if he was part angeni, but she wouldn't pry.
In a hushed voice, she asked, "So, Fable, what brings you into the forest?"

Fable turned to lead the way. A few paces into the forestry, he turned his head around to call back to the mare. "They went this w- Oh." Seeing her curious gaze searching him over made him pause. His skin grew warm as a blush passed over him like a wildfire. "Sorry." He blustered for a moment, tripping over his words. "They went this way." He managed to murmur before turning back towards the woods and leading the progression deeper, feeling forever the fool.
Her question made him paused again, and he slowed. Why had he come. Hmm. Turning back to face her, her lowered his head, shaking the hair in front of his eyes like a rebellious colt. "Adventure!" He whispered excitedly, bright eyes gleaming from behind the thick black mane. It was true. He did not really have a home to return to. Traveling each day and exploring truly was a great adventure in itself. "How about your fine self?" He spoke nonchalantly. Trying to remain aloof, Fable decided that he was suddenly very interested in looking under a nearby bush to see if her companions were hidden there.
