At long last, I've decided what to do with this guild.
I'm gonna start a workshop to teach crappy roleplayers how to be good roleplayers.
We must defend our hobby from noobs and godmodders at all costs!

So I need your help to come up with a way to do that that is both easy and requires little in the way of administration and upkeep.

My thoughts on the matter are to set up lectures for study, each in a locked thread, then testing the participants with actual roleplay scenarios involving the material covered in the lecture.

For instance, a test on taking a hit in a RP battle might face the student with an attack that they must be hit by in a beleivable and realistic manner, and perhaps showcase several other ways to take the hit. (Glancing blow, Mortal wound, On a shield, etc.)

I need the Crew members to do Two things, for now.

First, come up with ideas for classes that fit into one of the Subforum categories. Work out a lecture and possible test and PM it to me for review. After you have the general idea as to what I'm after in the way of classes, I'll cut out the review phase and let you add classes at your discretion, but for now I need to see what you come up with so we can get a uniform look and feel to our classes, rather than a chaotic assortment of random tasks. Try to bear in mind the process I outlined above. I'll post a sample class next time I get online.

Second, take a look at your friendslist and see if any of them are good to exceptional roleplayers who'd be interested in doing a bit of teaching. Accept them to the guild on your own initiative, but don't promote them. Give me their Usernames so I can review their skills before I assign them any duties. But have them follow Crew Directive 1 (above), so they're ready when/if I promote them.

I've done a Sample class in the Basics Subforum. Take a look to see what kind of stuff I'm looking for in a class. (no need to be quite so long-winded, though...)

Also, some other classes I came up with.

NPCs (already written by me, waiting to be copied to the comp)
Villains
Stat-based RPs
The art of the 'Random' first meeting
Creating a (good) RP Thread
Decorative flourishes (text color, resizing, pictures)

I think Etcetera might be a good name. Sinse the guild is focused on the generalized field of roleplay improvement it kinda fits, as there will always be an etcetera for a every subject of roleplay. Not to mention it is the greatest song ever! Also it gives a feel of such obscene generics that it is in fact unique for that very reason.

I personally would like to see not only classes for beginners but also more competitive courses for those more experienced of us. Always room for improvement and it might be a good lesson for the newbies to show that even us vets are still mortal beings that need SOME help in one subject or another.

Cake. Nuff said.

Along with that there should be a class for being a RP mod, dealing with an RP mod, and contacting a RP mod... >.>

Do what you gotta do, Chaos.

I'd like to stress to all the Crew and VCs that if you have a Class or Lesson idea, you don't need my permission to write it out. In fact, you only need my permission to post it once, after which time You get a free hand to post whatever lessons you like.
Feel encouraged to create any of the listed classes yourselves, partly so I'm not the only one represented among the people who create threads, and mostly so I don't have to do all the work myself, which could really delay the process of getting the guild running.

@ Chaos: I'm considering exempting you from any responsibility on the grounds that to do otherwise would cause severe burns to many of the people who sign up. I don't wanna get sued for letting you run loose on the noobs.

I'm planning on getting this crap-hole operational if it kills me. (And with chaos involved it very well could..) If anyone needs me I'll be curled up in the corner with a notebook, weeping as I write new classes. I'm not gonna do anything too fancy for now, just some basics so we have something to show. I or someone like me can spruce them up later.

But but... I have gasoline, wood, propane, rope, match, sticks, marshmallows, gram-crackers, and chocolate for this occasion... I even have a few village people who have agreed to carry pitch forks and torches and yell "Burn the witch".

Also if anyone needs me I will be a hotel, paid with Masamune's credit cards, writing down insult for Masamune. Also I need to build him an office so I can later burn it down multiple times.
