WHO// Wolf (AV), Pi (AV)
WHERE// CoreTech DC, AVD Network
WHEN// Early Afternoon, weekday
WHY// Supervised File Delivery

He floated through offline byways, cavernous looking wire frame areas, with 1s and 0s flowing from his lower half almost as if they were propelling him.
In true fashion, his programmer hadn't been specific about the contents of his delivery; what Wolf knew about it was that it was important enough to be escorted but apparently not important enough to be watched over by a higher level AV and was to be delivered to the AVD Network rather than a specific person or program which likely meant that it was some sort of global coding or patch which most or all of the DC Workers of their AV Division needed or requested. Thankfully, his programmer had at least told him why he was picked for the mission.
Responsibility.
Wolf knew the definition of the word quite plainly but, in order to truly understand what it means to be responsible, he was told he needed to perform a responsible action. A dual layered mission such as this was interesting to Wolf and so he agreed with no resistance.
Cypress had also instructed that he would be meeting with an AV that was at the same level of coding as him, one from the DC branch that would show him around and where to put the file. Allies, Wolf was sure, would come in handy no matter which branch of CoreTech they were from and it would be prudent to begin building those relationships as soon as possible. This was, after all, his first meeting with another Anti-Virus.
A flash of color, light and binary deposited him in a familiar, yet different, set of networks. He had arrived safely, traveling over miles of ocean through electronic connection in only a few minutes, maybe even seconds. The file was currently encrypted, stored temporarily within his own body for ease of mobility and stealth, and only when he met with the assigned AV he was to be partnered with for his time here would he remove the file proper.

PI fidgeted and whizzed back and forth. She was so nervous she couldn't sit still. Last night before her daily checkup Abraxas had come to visit her with a little assignment. A level 1 anti-virus was coming from the London Branch and she wanted PI to meet and escort the guest AV to Ritsuko's bay. The AV would be carrying a file that Ritsuko needed to upgrade some minor AV software. PI had eagerly agreed, wanting to please Abraxas any way she could. It wasn't until this morning that she'd realized what she'd agreed to. This would be the first time she met another AV on her own level, and she was extremely nervous. She wished Abraxas could have been there to help her greet the strange program, but Abraxas was very busy and had to be off on her next job.
The network hummed irregularly, and PI knew that the foreign AV would be arriving any nanosecond. What was his name again? Ritsuko had told her this morning but for the life of her she could not remember it. What would he think of her if she didn't even know his name? So unprofessional! Her nervousness rose to a frenzied panic, and she screamed as a network loophole opened in front of her and out came the British AV. He was taller than her and dark gray with yellow markings. He looked very intimidating and much more experienced than her, even though they were the same level. She dove for cover behind the nearest application .exe file and hoped that he had not seen her.

With a digital chime and quick appearance, then disappearance, of binary, the British AV passed through the protective coding of the network just as his partner for this foreseeably short mission dove behind an aimlessly hovering application. There was no change in his expression and he remained silent, just observing and mulling over the chain of events. Was this one glitching?
Hovering toward the application, he reached out and with a quick touch it was minimized, revealing the quivering AV Brute whose appearance seemed to contradict her fighting class. The Attacker, on the other hand, merely regarded her impassively and floated nearby. "You are the one I was directed to meet with?" even his words held little emotion, blank and cold but still with a gently curious tone. Confirmation was required for any progress and while he had an inkling this was indeed the Anti-virus in question he was not about to assume so.
If she was not the one he was looking for he would ask her to direct him to the proper AV. However, if she were to decline his request then there would be... consequences.
"There is something I need to deliver," Wolf kept the details of the mission hidden and simple. In the event she wasn't the AV in question he didn't want to divulge too much. Though of course she was affiliated with CoreTech, her current behavior was suspicious and he would not be ignoring that. It was carefully logged away, each new detail being filed. If she was to be his partner then this mission would be... interesting.

"I...I..." she stammered, unable to form words properly. Her cover had been taken away and she thought vaguely what a fool she must look, crouching like this in the middle of the system, hands over her eyes.
She peeked up at him through her fingers. He was gazing down expressionlessly at her. He seemed very serious indeed, which reminded her that she should be taking this seriously, too. Abraxas had given this mission to her personally, which meant that it must be very important. And she desperately wanted to please Abraxas.
She rose shakily and extended her hand to the British AV, copying what she'd seen Abraxas and Ritsuko do. She figured this was the normal way to greet another being. "M-my name is Program I," she said, her voice quivering, "b-but you can c-call me PI." She blushed furiously under the program's steady gaze, but continued. "I've been instructed to b-bring you to R-ristuko's bay." Stop stuttering and get on with it! She mustered all the confidence she could, puffed out her chest, and nearly shouted at him, "Abraxas sent me herself!"
And then she waited, expecting the foreign AV to be mightily impressed at this bit of information.

This program seemed to be malfunctioning; had her speech function become corrupted or was there something more at work? Wolf frowned, watching her every move, listening to every half formed and stuttered syllable and all of the extraneous information contained therein. Then, at her final words, there was a slight show of white upon the AV's grey features as he visibly gritted his teeth.
"Were you installed with a volume control?" he asked plainly, as unemotionally engaging as anything else he had said to her thus far. It seemed the fact that Abraxas, AV head and leader, had personally assigned this mission to her was completely irrelevant to him. Who the orders came from were unimportant, so long as they were within CoreTech itself, as he would follow them regardless. Put simply, Wolf was thoroughly unimpressed as shown by his complete and utter lack of reaction.
However, she had introduced herself and it was only right to do the same, as his programmer said. "Program I, I am called Wolf," he did sometimes ponder Cypress' thought process in coming up with the name; he had never elaborated on the decision and the AV had difficulty understanding how he was at all related or relevant toward canis lupus, but he supposed he could appreciate the strength the name carried.
With his current partner's shortened designation, however, he felt disinclined to call her such. For one as serious as Wolf, the name Program I felt far more comfortable than its contraction. "If you're here to assist me in this drop off then I suggest we begin," his words rolled out coldly despite his appearance. He did not wish to dawdle, especially not on his first assignment, and if he thought that this AV would bog down his progress he would tell her so and complete the mission himself. Thankfully for PI, it hadn't quite reached that point yet.
He did want to give her a chance, after all.

"I..." PI was at a loss for words, and, for the first time in her short digital life, slightly insulted. It didn't matter that she was not sure what "volume control" was; she was sure he was mocking her. Her incomplete AI decided right then and there that he was mean. It was a rather basic decision as she had not yet learned the subtleties of emotion, and was based more on the fact that she was afraid of Wolf rather than his actual demeanor. But she knew the definition of the word "mean" and determined Wolf was it. PI was now dying to complete this mission and return to the safety of Ritsuko's computer, and had forgotten all about her desire to impress the British AV.
"Yes, let's begin," she repeated his words back to him timidly. "It's not too far..."
She stretched out her hand, touched a nearby string of code, and opened a door into the sub-network that Ritsuko's computer usually accessed. She entered and Wolf followed. PI was so caught up wallowing in her own fear and sense of failure that it was a while before she realized she'd taken them much farther than she intended to. In fact, she had no idea where they were. She began to panic slightly but tried to keep a calm face, not wanting Wolf to know that she'd messed up again.
"This is it!" she exclaimed as she opened the network. She prayed that they'd come out somewhere familiar.
They didn't.
They were floating in front of a huge, dark mass. PI wasn't sure but she thought it might be a subsidiary main frame. She looked left and right, hoping maybe another AV would come along and help her, but there was no other program in sight. She gulped, steeled herself, and turned to Wolf.
"Right! This is it! We just uh...we just go inside! Yeah!" She hoped to the human's God (because Ritsuko often did and she supposed this "God" must be a pretty powerful being) that he would believe her.

At her sudden restraint, Wolf merely nodded. This was a good change of pace from her previous outburst and it seemed, with that gentle prodding, he had managed to put her on the right task. Without a word, he watched her open an entrance deeper into the network, following the Brute inside silently. There was little to speak of in the area and Wolf's attentions did not wander, save for to examine the AV leading him.
She was exceptionally different from himself, gender aside; her coloration might as well have been completely opposite, the soft white-pink hue of her body and the red accents of her hair and coding, her type classification was obviously different as well and it was a bit of a surprise to the Attacker that she, in a battle situation, would be qualified to have her body act as a shield for the team. These things and more were crossing his mind amidst the lack of conversation as they went through the long digital hall and just as the British AV began to suspect some sort of error, she stopped and opened a new door, sounding quite assured.
Face blank, Wolf followed her inside only to be met with darkness. His gaze wandered, attempting to discern any familiar shapes, lights, coding, but nothing looked right. Nothing looked familiar.
Hidden beneath his bangs, Wolf's brow furrowed as he scrutinized PI's face. She appeared nervous, which was only backed up by her tone of voice. Head tilting slightly as he refused to look away from the female, his arms crossed and frown set quite heavily. "Are you certain?" There was no snide tone, no condescension in his voice, just an honest question of accuracy. This didn't appear to be correct at all but this was not a network he had traveled before so there was room for error on his end. It just didn't feel right, but feelings were not as accurate as facts and he was willing to tuck his own misgivings away if they were inaccurate.
Program I appeared quite certain, and what reason would she honestly have to lead him astray? Error was one thing, but surely only a Malware would be so conniving as to do something like that on purpose and there was no way a Malware would have gotten through CoreTech's defenses to act as his lead. In point of fact, the file simply wasn't that important to sabotage its delivery, or so Cypress had told him. "Lead on," he instructed, posture loosening as he followed her into yet another unfamiliar, uncharted area.
There was definitely something off about this situation but Wolf was attempting to look past it and not be too judgmental of his partner. After all, it was his first mission too.
