Entry -- Blackout

Oh, how brilliant it felt just to take off her shoes! Misu was absolutely ecstatic, clutching the few items she had salvaged from her car to her chest. She danced through the room as though struck silly. The entire day seemed to be one long trial, and Misu was glad to be rid of it.

She placed her shoes in a closet and walked through the room, delighting in the sensation of carpet on bare toes. It was a cozy room, not exactly a huge one, but there seemed to be a lot of empty space. A simple bed against one wall and a simple wardrobe against the other were the only two major furnishings in the room. The rest of the furniture in the room was small, a bedstand, a lamp without a lampshade... How peculiar! And was that the trickle of water?

Misu turned towards the sound, frowning. There was a doorway she hadn't seen coming in, tucked behind the wardrobe. And the sound seemed to come from there... Misu took a few steps towards it. Yes, it was definitely getting louder. She strode towards the door and went inside -- and gasped at what she saw.

It was the most amazing bathroom. It was at least as large as the room, if not larger. The walls and floor were completely tiled in some sort of stone; Misu supposed it was marble. The sink and countertops were a light blue-gray, the faucets were gleaming silver. The mirror was in the shape of a starfish. Misu couldn't see a bathtub, though.

Curious, she walked past the counter. Why would there be a bathroom with no bathtub? There was certainly a toilet, it had it's own separate room off to the side. But could a bathtub have a separate room as well?

She stopped. The water had stopped...it now sounded like the water was draining...from...a tub? Was that logical?

Misu didn't see why not, and as soon as she had thought this, another door appeared. She pushed it open and went inside. The bathtub was certainly large, sort of triangular shaped, and very, very deep. She approached it in a daze and stroked one of the sides. It felt old. The porcelain of the tub was smooth and flawless, but it exuded something ancient.

Something that seemed to lurk beneath the surface.

Again Misu stroked the bathtub, feeling something not unlike suddenly being plunged into salty water. She felt the urge to sputter.

There was no option.

She would have to take a bath.

It wasn't even an option. God had put this bathroom here just for her, she could feel it, and she wanted to take a bath. Misu grinned and grabbed a few towels before stripping down and turning the faucet on. Water cascaded down prettily into the tub. It steamed as the tub filled, and soon Misu was lost in a cloud of water vapor and mist.

"I hope I can see the tub..." Misu murmured as she reached forwards, hoping to come in contact with the tub without tripping over it and potentially drowning. Luck would be on her side, and Misu successfully slid into the tub without damaging herself too badly.

She let herself float on top of the water, still listening to a slight trickling sound that had reappeared near her waist. Maybe something wasn't turned off properly? Misu sighed and sat up, groping for the faucet -- and her hand touched something slimy.

"Ugh!" Misu recoiled. It felt like...all right, this was silly, but it felt almost like seaweed. What the heck was seaweed doing in a bathtub? More importantly, why was seaweed floating around in a resort? A ski resort!? Wasn't it cold? Didn't seaweed usually come from places where it wasn't freezing outside?!

"Weird," Misu muttered, once again feeling for the kelp. She found it after a bit of splashing and cursing, and pulled it up towards her face. It smelled salty, which was weird, especially since there was no water in the tub.

Misu brought the object up towards her face--

And slipped, crashing her skull into the back of the tub.

Blacking out underwater was a new experience for her.

Entry -- Hugs

Weird dreams.

She was floating in water, and it was very, very dark. Long strands of thick seaweed swam in and out of her vision. She looked at herself, pale hair fanning out in strands, her white skin glowing in the dark. She strained her eyes for a sign of life. Every so often, a small fish of some sort would make its presence known, but other than that, nothing.

But a sound.

And what a sound it was. Something between the whale songs she heard on marine biology shows and human singing, the sweet soprano of a young girl. It filled Misu up and reverberated in her very bones until she felt that she could explode from the pressure...

Then silence.

Something was coming.

It looked large, rising up from the gloom. Huge tentacles rose to form patterns, swaying back and forth against the light behind them.

Misu felt her throat tighten, constricting the airflow to her lungs. She was afraid. Afraid of whatever came after those tentacles. Of a death by constriction by giant octopus that became evident.

She screwed up her face and prepared to die...and then felt something small and squishy tap her on the cheek. Warily, she opened her eyes.

Before her stoo--swam, swam a small octopus. An unbelievably cute octopus. An unbelievably cute octopus that shot towards her and hugged her around the face.

"What the-?!"

It was at this point that Misu realized that she couldn't breathe.

Which made no sense, because this had to be a ******** broke the surface of the water, gasping, and looked around the tub. The egg was still there.

Slowly, she climbed out of the tub, leaving the egg, wrapped herself with a towel and exited the bathroom, locking the door behind her.

She was going to check out of this mad house as soon as possible.

PD -- A Luncheon Discussion

Esopha
Misu walked through the halls of the Resort, trying to find someone who could explain the bizarre happenings of the last few nights. Her pale hair flowed out behind her, sending the light in all directions. She stopped by a large room to catch her breath. She had been walking for a while. She reached into her handbag and extracted a bundle of wet towels. Looking anxiously around, Misu replaced the bundle and sank to the ground.

Vlad Kaziglu
Waking up Vlad rolled over with a groan, he had never ben one to get up easily, and managed to stumble out of bed without killing himself. Reaching out he patted around on the stand next to the bed untill he found his glasses. Picking htem up he settled them on the bridge of his nose before pullin on hsi shoes and trying ot brush some of the wrinkles out of his shirt and grabbing the key to his room before pening the door and stepping outside.

Esopha
Misu blinked when she heard someone else enter the hallway, looking up, she recognized him as a man she had met a few days before hand. Maybe he had a similar experience? Maybe. Misu frowned and considered her options. Either she said hello, risked it, and dealt with whatever happened, or she didn't say hello and attempt to disappear into the shadows. Which she couldn't do, being so pale.

Oh well.

"Hello," Misu said, smiling. "Did you have a good night? I've had a rather rough one, myself."

Vlad Kaziglu
Vlad jumped and turned to look at the women talking to him. Blinking as he recognized her he smiled slightly and nodded as he closed the door of his room.

"It was rather...strange, to say the least. And I'm affraid I can't remember your name." Vlad said with an apologetic smile.

Esopha
Misu's smile widened. "It's alright, I don't recall yours, either. I suppose it's a side effect of...well, bashing my skull into the side of the bathtub." Misu blushed a little. That was so stupid of her! "I had a rather strange night as well." She frowned, her hand unconsciously approaching her bag.

Vlad Kaziglu
Vlad nodded his head before taking a few steps foreward. "That will do it, never good to hit your head on stuff." Holding out his hand to her he pushed his glasses up with the other. "My name is Vald, its nice to meet you again."

Esopha
"Yes, it was rather foolish of me." She took his hand and shook it, and gave him a polite social smile. "It's good to meet you, Vlad. My name is Misu."

Vlad Kaziglu
"Well what do you say to us going to find something to eat Misu? I know I'm starving." Still smiling, and finding that he couldn't quiet manage to wipe it off his face yet he pushed his hands into his pockets.

Esopha
"Oh, sure!" His smile was infectious, she found, and she felt a grin creep up her face. Misu blew a little hair out of her eyes and asked, "Vlad, do you know anything about octopi?"

Vlad Kaziglu
Starting towards the elevator he shook his head. "No not really. Other then the fact they can change colorlive in the ocean and can shoot ink I don't. Why" Looking over his shoulder at her he raised an eyebrow at the strange question.

Esopha
She followed, eyes averted from his face. "Well, it has to do with the whole bathtub incident." She reached into her bag and pulled out the bundle. Inside were a few strands of seaweed. "Does this look like seaweed to you?" She held it up gingerly.

Vlad Kaziglu
Stopping in front of the elevator he reached out and picked up the seaweed, even going as far as to sniff it before he nodded. "Well it seems to be seaweed, where did you get this?"

Esopha
"I got the seaweed in my bathtub." Misu muttered. She could feel blood rushing to her face. How ridiculous she sounded. "It was in my bathtub, rolled up in a ball. The tub was even filled with water." She looked up at him. "My strange night, you see." She said, by way of explanation.

Vlad Kaziglu
He stopped his finger as it was about to push the call button. "You found it, in a ball, in your tub that was filled with water?" Looking at her for a moment to try and decided if she was puling his leg he decided to show her teh surprise that he had found. "Think you can wait to eat for alittle longer? There is something in my room I would like to show you."

Esopha
Misu nodded. "I can wait, of course I can wait..." The whole ordeal of last night had caught up with her suddenly, and she felt faint. "What exactly is it?" She stepped aside and waited for him to lead her wherever the room was.

Vlad Kaziglu
Vlad smiled and offered her his arm, seeing that she looked quiet flushed and ready to faint he didn't want her to fall and hurt herself again. "Its not far, and you can sit down and rest for a minute if you would like."

Esopha
Misu accepted his arm, but shook her head. "I don't need to rest, thank you. I'd rather see this...thing...that you want to show me." She smiled. "I can walk to a room, I'm sure. Especially if it's a short way."

Vlad Kaziglu
"Err...yeah...thats what I found out last night." Chuckling weakly he rubbed the back of his head with his free hand. "Go on in, it wont bite you."

Esopha
She entered the room with a puzzled look on her face. "How long has it been here? Do you think it was part of the decor?" She let her eyes wander across the room, until they finally settled back on the headstone. "There's no name on it." She frowned and reached out to touch the headstone. "Why would there be a headstone with no name?"

Vlad Kaziglu
"Thats kind of what I was wondering, other then how it got in here to begin with." Stepping inside after her he closed the door and pulled to chiars out from under the small table. Moving over in front of the head stone he set the chairs down and sat in one of them himself. "Its not cold like normal stone would be wither, its warm to the touch if you haven't noticed."

Esopha
Misu took the other chair and nodded. "Yes, it is warm." Her frown deepened. "If...if an octopus came out of a ball of seaweed, what would come out of a tombstone?" Some sort of ghost? Misu had no idea. Probably, Vlad would know, just because it was his room. Maybe he had dreamt of something like she did...?

Vlad Kaziglu
"An octopus out of a ball of seaweed? Well thats a new one... And I have no idea what would come out of it, though I did have a strange dream involving a fox." Shurgging he looked at the head stone, actually begining to feel comfertable with it around him.

Esopha
"Then maybe it will be a fox!" Misu exclaimed, grinning. "After all, it would make sense for it to be a fox. Wouldn't it?" She wanted it to make sense. It would certainly be nice if it made sense. "Anyway, do you still want to have lunch?"

Vlad Kaziglu
"I suppose, as long as the dream is related to the head stone atleast." Getting to his feet he offered Misu his hand. "Yes. lunch sounds great."

Vlad Kaziglu
Chuckling he closed his door and made sure it was locked before leading her over to the elevator and into it when it came at his call. "Maybe we'll find something for your strange guest to eat." Smiling as the elevator closed they went to lunch.

PD -- Something in the Water

cassiopeia_starkitten
Cassi gave a luxurious sigh as she sank into the warm water's of the woman's hotspring. She had nothing against the co-ed one.. she just preferred to not be around boys while she soaked from time to time. She was human, she got self conscience.

Neo was resting in the water beside her, leaning his cheek against Cassi's shoulder, one of his flippers over her stomach as though to hold onto her, like a child might. They were both lazing sleepily in the delicious warmth.

Esopha
Misu sighed and tucked the kraken beneath her elbow, dashing through the hallway and towards the woman's hotspring. She needed a soak. The girl pushed open the door and was hit with a blast of hot steam. Almost instantly, she felt her muscles relax. Misu glanced at Kelby, then tossed her into the water.

Kelby splashed a little water at her guardian and soon disappeared in the water of the spring. Once she got deep enough in, she wriggled and let out a loud, "Moooouuuueeeeeeeeeeee~", mimicking an orca.

cassiopeia_starkitten
Cassi snapped out of her half drowse as suddenly there was a splash and a deep, very muffled sound. She blinked her eyes open and looked down into the water, then over to the door.

"Hello?" The steam made it a little difficult to quite see who was there.

Neo had awoken as well, perking up and slipping silently without a splash beneath the surface of the water. He breathed a few bubbles to try and catch the attention of the Kraken myth, unable to make his own sounds.

cassiopeia_starkitten
Neo released another gush of bubbles as he was spurted with ink and then was immediatly zooming after Kelby. Sure, she could breathe underwater, but Neo was streamlined and made for speed in it. He zipped after her, blowing bubbles at different angles from time to time.

Which was making Cassi nervous. If this woman didn't have a Myth then the mystery of the bubbles would bring up an awkward subject.

"Ahahahah.. y-yea. T-Testing out the new uh... jacuzzi... thing. Doesn't look like it works too well."

Smooth. Real smooth. She scratched the back of her head nervously and smiled in an attempt to cover it up. "The name's Cassi, nice to meet you. I.. wait I met you before, didn't I?" She recognized the face a little.

She had such terrible memory.

Esopha
Kelby squealed happily and shot out of the water, landing on Neo's back and sliding down. This was fun! And he felt nice! Misu didn't feel nice. Her skin was rough and hurt her tentacles. That was why she was kept wrapped up in a towel.

Misu blinked. "Jacuzzi? As in a bubbling bath?" Suddenly, her face brightened. "Oh, that must have been fun to put in! How did you do it?"

"And yes, you've met me before. I stayed overnight."

cassiopeia_starkitten
Cassi blinked as the little Kraken surfaced for a moment before plooshing back into the water. A slow grin spread across her face. "Oh... oh... so you have a Myth!" She seemed relieved and happy all at once. "Then uh.. yeah. We don't really have a jacuzzi thing going on, it's just Neo. I didn't realize you had a Myth."

Neo took this moment to come up for air, head and neck breaking the water surface before the rest of him did, with little Kelby on his back. Oh how he loved letting the other myths ride around on his back! He started swimming smoothly, heading toward Mai and Cassi.

Cassi smiled proudly and motioned toward Neo. "This is Neo.. he's a hohopo, or a lake monster."

Esopha
Misu blinked once or twice, then gave the woman a long look. "What's a Myth?" She asked. Of course, she knew that Kelby had appeared suddenly out of a ball of seaweed, and she could see Neo paddling along, but the way that this woman had said it, complete with capital letter, made Misu a little confused.

"Like, a story?" She sank down into the water next to Cassi and cocked her head to one side.

Kelby wriggled and launced herself at Cassi, tentacles wide open for an embrace. She would have probably been squealing if she was underwater, but as it was, she simply was aiming for the woman's face.

"Oh God, Kelby! Don't attack the nice lady!" Misu wailed, splashing water hopelessly at the little octi.

cassiopeia_starkitten
"Yeah.. like the Myth of the lochness monster, or bigfo-AHHH!"

Cassi was cut drastically short from her explination as she suddenly had a little kraken launching at her face. She gave a small shriek before the tenticles were wrapped around her head and the squishy Kraken body was pressed against her face. She gave a muffled 'MMMHH!' as her hands flailed wildly.

Neo was surprised at Kelby's sudden attack at his Cassi's face, swimming closer, an expression of worry in his large eyes. What was she doing?

Esopha
Misu grabbed the octopus and pulled -- hard. The kraken let go of the woman's face with a wet pop! and a squealching sound. Misu put Kelby down in the water and watched as she twirled around in circles.

"I'm so sorry. I didn't know she would do that. I haven't taken her to meet many people, yet, so she doesn't know how to behave." Misu fanned the woman, looking as if she was going to faint.

As if to reiterate this point, Kelby ducked under the water and let out a long, "WARARARAGOURAAAAAAAAAGH~!", before emerging and snuggling up to Neo.

cassiopeia_starkitten
Cassi sucked in a deep breath of air as Kelby was unsuctioned from her face. As it was, she had one or two circular red marks on her cheeks where Kelby had held on. "Oh... oh I'm... f-fine." She slumped back slightly into the water and leaned against the wall. "That.. that was definatly a new experience."

She looked over at Kelby as she snuggled against Neo. The little creature definatly looked like a plain old octopus but she was sure this was the kraken. "I wonder.. how big she'll get."

Neo looked anxiously at Cassi as Kelby was popped off the woman's face, making sure she was alright before looking back down at Kelby. Snuggles! Cuddles! He leaned down and rested his chin atop her squishy head and nuzzled.

Esopha
Misu heaved a sigh of relief and sank down in the water next to her. "Thank goodness. I was worried that I would have to do CPR. I was never good at CPR," She confided. "I think I killed the practice dummy."

"I don't know...maybe it will be like a goldfish. That she'll get bigger depending on the container. She has been growing a bit, though. I don't know what she eats..." Misu frowned. "But that doesn't stop her from eating."

Kelby squealed happily as Neo rubbed his head atop her own. Yay! She zipped underwater then shot back up, this time catching Neo's face in an octopus hug.

Esopha
Misu grinned and shook her head. "I doubt she'll get so big." She changed the subject. "How long have you been in possession of this resort?" She asked, playing with the steam in the air. "You seem to have a lot of guests..."

Kelby plopped off of Neo's face and swam in a circle beside him. Humph! Would no one let her hug them? Apparently not. Oh well, she would just have to make due. Squirting out a little more ink, the kraken zipped back out into the depths of the spring.

cassiopeia_starkitten
Neo dived back underwater to follow Kelby. It wasn't that he didn't want a hug, it was that he hadn't been expecting it. He swam close to her, rolling over onto his back underwater and awkwardly placed his flippers around her squishy little body.

This was a hug, as he knew it.

Cassi gave an embarassed smile. "Eh.. actually I haven't had it too long.. I guess this is just a cool place to be." She sighed lightly and looked up at the ceiling. "I should probably get back to work soon..."

Esopha
Kelby squealed when she was hugged, then let out a few short trills. Yay! He liked her! Now they could be best friends and have parties together and eat fish together~! She tickled him with her tentacles, squirming back and forth. She wanted to plaaaaaaaaay.

Misu nodded. "The atmosphere is very...interesting." She said, as the two myths continued to splash about wildly in view. "Are many of the visitors friends of yours?" She was keen to learn more about the other people staying in the resort, because somehow she had guessed that they would also have in their possession a myth like Kelby.

cassiopeia_starkitten
"Only Freize." She brought her hands out of the water to look at them and gave a little jolt. They were wrinkly! She'd been in the water far too long. "I'm sorry, Misu, but I think I better get out. There's probably something I have to do somewhere anyway..." She grumbled slightly. "There's always work around here..."

She looked down into the water where Neo was romping with Kelby and called out to him. "Neo! Come on, we've gotta go."

The hohopo, to say the least, was very disappointed. He loved the water, and he loved playing, almost as much as he loved cuddles. He surfaced reluctantly, nuzzling Kelby once before wadding to the shallow water and shuffling out. He shook himself to get the water out of his short fur, ruffling up slightly.

Cassi joined him on land, turning to wave to Misu. "Thank you, maybe we can meet again to have a playdate, yah?" And with that she was exiting the hot spring.

Esopha
Misu nodded to Cassi and let the woman exit. "Have a good day, then." It would be nice to have the spring to herself for a while. She needed the relaxation. She motioned to Kelby to say goodbye to Neo, which she did, then came to nuzzle her guardian with an affectionate tentacle.

Entry -- Worried

Dear Diary,

Today has been incredibly tiresome, for all the wrong reasons. For starters, I've been running around after an octopus for the majority of the week. No joke. Her name is Kelby, and she was found in my bathtub shortly after I checked into my hotel room here. This is a resort, by the way...the Resort Congele. It's very nice, kind of like a ski resort, except it's classier. I've been staying here for about a week, but that's not the point. Anyway, I was taking a bath the other day when I noticed that there was something slimy in the tub with me. When I picked it up, I noticed it was an egg.

Basically, I freaked out and went to bed and when I woke up in the morning, there was an octopus in my bathtub! The strangest thing is, I'm not hallucinating. I've already met two other people who have myths like Kelby. One of them is the owner of the hotel, Cassi. The other is named Vlad.

Misu paused in her writing to peer into the bathroom, where Kelby was spinning and bellowing in the tub. She seemed to be growing larger, and Misu was worried that she might, eventually, outgrow the tub, and even her room. It was a dilemma that Misu couldn't solve by herself. How annoying. Even so, what did krakens eat? Kelby seemed to get on well enough on a diet of fish, but what happened when Misu wanted to take a bath!? She couldn't get the fishy smell out of her bathroom, and she shuddered to think of what would happen if she had fish smell in her hair constantly.

They're both nice.

She couldn't really think of what else to write. She had only spoken to Cassi once or twice in passing, and Vlad she had one talk with so far, but neither seemed to last very long. But then, that wasn't the point.

I'm going to go to an aquarium shop today and try to find things that octopuses eat. I think I might also have to buy a tank or something. I can't have Kelby living in my bathtub for the rest of her life. I'm thinking of leaving her down in the hotsprings, but she's never been alone, and I don't know if she'll pine or attack somebody or something like that. I'm really concerned. I think I'm going to consult a friend or two and see what to do.

They're going to think I'm insane.
