“Aiden, isn’t this place beautiful?” I asked. She nodded in her moody, serious way and headed over to the closest tree to sit underneath. I sighed and set down my boom box. Even though Aiden looked just like me, we were nothing alike. I should have been the sad one, because I actually left a girlfriend behind. Aiden was way too careful to let anyone besides me close.
Let her be that way, I thought as I turned on the music player. The first song that played was “Cowboy Casanova” by Carrie Underwood, so I just stretched. It was a good dancing song, but I didn’t want to pull a muscle. Aiden just watched and scratched Kain’s head, who had sat by her while I wasn’t looking. No doubt they were having one of their silent conversations.
The song changed to Aiden’s favorite song, “Iris” by Goo Goo Dolls. I grinned and ran over to her and pulled her to her feet. At first she wouldn’t dance with me, but after a moment she loosened up and actually smiled. When she took the lead, I knew she’d dance with me for a few more songs, at least.

“Dental Care” by Owl City had just started playing, making Shay giggle like a little girl, when I heard a whistle behind me. I pulled away from my sister, my smile instantly disappearing. Shay shrugged, waved at someone behind me, then resumed dancing on her own.
I slowly turned around to face the boy. He’s handsome, I thought as I looked him over. I managed a small smile. “It’s not everyday a handsome boy compliments us on our dancing,” I teased back, surprising myself. It was highly unusual for me to do that. I could feel Shay's eyes as she paused in her dancing to stare at me. I made my face smooth. “I’m Aiden Alexander. The giggling girl behind me is my sister, Shay.”
Kain padded over and sat beside me, watching the boy carefully. I automatically set a hand on his head and scratch his ear lightly. “And this is Kain, my wolf. Don’t worry; he only bites if you bite first.”

Kain growled low in his throat when the boy stepped closer, but I pressed my hand into his head as I shook Cecilia’s hand. “Nice to meet you.” I stayed very still when he leaned closer and forced a smile onto my face, even though I wanted to put some distance between us. “You’re telling me. You have siblings?”
Shay danced over and wrapped her arms around me, smiling at Cecilia. Her hands pressed into my stomach, but she immediately moved them when I winced. “What’s with the whispering? Already making friends, Aiden?” she asked with a giggle.
I rolled my eyes. “This is Cecilia Neoman, Shay. And you now how careful I am.”
“Come on, Aiden. Daddy’s not here, so loosen up and admire his cuteness. I know I am.” She giggled again and fluttered her fingers at the boy. “Heya, hon. Don’t be put off by my sister’s seriousness. And if you do, you can always ignore her.”
I pushed her away. “Go dance, airhead.” I turned to Cecilia with a heavy sigh. “Sorry about her. She doesn’t know when to close her mouth.”

I smiled, although barely lifting my lips probably didn’t count. “Sounds like a hard brother to have. I’m not that serious. I was kind of forced into the role.” My smile fell and I touched my stomach briefly, looking back at Shay as she danced. “Shay’s good at getting me to loosen up. I think that’s the first time I’ve danced in a while.” My words were soft, as if I was talking to myself.
Kain moved beside me and somehow managed to push me forward, toward Cecilia. ‘Stop sulking, girl. Ask him to dance with you.’
I glared down him. ‘You’re a pain, wolf.’ I turned away from his amused eyes and smiled at Cecilia. “I think Kain wants me to stop being moody.” I hold a hand out to him. “Would you like to dance?”

I automatically stiffened when he touched me, but forced myself to relax and let him pull me close. I shrugged at his question. “I don’t have any preferences. Shay usually just pulls me along until I know what kind of dance she wants, then I lead.”
Kain pads off to the stereo and pushes a button, changing it to Vanilla Twilight by Owl City. I glare at him, my green eyes almost murderous. ‘Now you’re just being mean,’ I accused mentally. He sat and looked innocently at me.
I shook my head and looked back at Cecilia. "Well, it looks like a slow dance. My wolf is being mischievous.” I pulled his hand from my shoulder and set it on my waist, then placed my own hand on his shoulder. “First of all, you have to do it properly.”

I couldn’t help but stare a little as Aiden and Cecilia danced. When was the last time my sister danced with anybody? And Kain looked very pleased with himself. I lightly stepped over to him and scratched his ear. “You orchestrated the whole thing, didn’t you?” I could have sworn the wolf grinned. I giggled. “Devil dog. You are so cruel.”

I looked over at Aiden with a sly smile. “Well, aren’t you having fun? Save a little sugar for me, sis.” She glared at me. I give her an innocent look back. “What? You know you’re enjoying him holding you.”

She raised an eyebrow. “I thought you chased girls.”

I pouted. “I go after guys too, if I want. And if I remember correctly, there was that one time you went out with Anna…”

Aiden went slightly red at the memory. “That was one time, and she wasn’t my type. She was too clingy, and too emotionally soft. Besides, I only went out with her because she needed help getting a guy.”

“So you only go for the distant and moody type?” I giggled. “You read too many books, twin.”

“See what I have to deal with?” she complained to Cecilia.

I giggle again and pull away from my twin to change the song to another slow song, just to torture the poor girl. I ignored Aiden’s glare and was about to dance again when I spotted a girl watching us. I waved to her and glanced at Aiden. Seeing she was distracted, I quietly walked over to the other girl.

“Hi!” I said brightly, stopping in front of her. I smiled sweetly to put her at ease. “I’m Shay Alexander. You’re welcome to join us if you want. We don’t bite.” I paused and touched my chin thoughtfully. “Well, maybe Kain, but he only if you make him angry. Right now he’s too busy enjoying making my twin dance with a boy.”

I shrugged. “Anyway. What’s your name? You want to come join us?”
