Being an aspiring speculummancer and coming from a wealthy family, he can allow himself such luxury. Unsurprisingly enough, he also really enjoys accessories and jewellery. Rings, watches, earrings, cufflinks, pendants - he likes it all, and wears a few daily.
Important: Most of the times, especially when on duty, Matthias will wear a black and white, studded and feather decorated bird mask.
Weaponry and skills
Speculummancy is a magic art based on reflections.
Those who study speculummancy, usually follow the god Rahkpi who mostly appears as a man with a magpie's head, usually dressed in a gorgeous suit made of black and white feathers. Alternatively, he shows up as a handsome young man in a fancy suit, with a feathered hat and mask. Magpies are sacred birds to followers of Rahkpi.
Any magic they use, requires some sort of reflection. Which is why all speculummancers always carry shiny and well polished items like mirrors, gems and metals. The clearer the reflection is, the easier it is to use it.
Speculummancy is still a rather young magical art (only a few centuries old), and not that popular. Many traditional sorcerers scoff at speculummancy and those who learn it. However, that does not mean that they are more powerful than those who practice reflection magic, just more familiar with their branch of magic as it is older.

Matthias is still a scholar in the arts of speculummancy, however he has only a few years left of his studies, so he is a rather advanced student. After finishing school, the only way he will be able to advance his skills is through his own talents and research.
Most of his powers are associated with summoning, polymorph and illusion. He can not do elemental magic, unless he uses water for his spells.
