Okay, so I'm the drumset player for my high school jazz band. My dierctor told me he wants me to play a samba beat for the song we're playing, but I have one slight problem... I have no idea where to begin with a samba rhythm. I looked online, and didn't get what I was really looking for. I tried out the normal bossa nova beat (2/3 clave) but he didn't go for it. Can anyone give me a basic samba rhythm? the song we're playing is pretty quick, and its in cut time. I tried the rhythm they put in the music too, but he said he didnt like it. I'm very confused. Can anybody give me something I can master pretty quickly? I'm not against stuff that is hard, but I have a limited amount of time to get it down.
