Hey guys! This is a survey for my book, and I'd be super happy if you could fill it out! I know it's really long, so you can email it to me - bpod90@hotmail.com(yay for drafts!), You guys can even message it to me in parts as I know it's horribly long.

I know it seems kind of "Bisexuality is a phase" and such, but I assure you the book won't have the same tone as the questions. The questions are for mainly the opinion parts of the book, so they have a bit of an edge (as they're based on common stereotypes, etc).

About You (yes/no or as short as possible please!)

Age:

Gender:

Sexuality:

Faith:

Political Stance:

Are you open regarding your sexuality?

Do you believe homosexuality is morally wrong?

Do you believe bisexuals are just confused?

Have you ever identified as bisexual?

Do you know someone who has identified as bisexual?

Did you believe that the person was bisexual?

If not, do you believe they were ‘bisexual’ to gain attention?

The Basics (Everything from here on long answer please!)

1. What is your definition of bisexuality?

2. Do you believe that bisexuality is a real sexuality? Why or Why not?

3. If an individual hasn’t been sexually active with members of the same sex, do you believe they are truly bisexual, or
just very curious?

4. What is your definition of bi-curiosity?

5. Do you believe all people are curious? Why or Why not?

Kinsey’s Scale

The scale below outlines the findings of Kinsey’s Scale. The next few questions will be in regards to this scale.

The scale:

0 – Completely straight
1 – Mainly straight, very little gay behaviour/interest (curious)
2 – Mostly straight, more than incidentally homosexual
3 – interested in both sexes equally or relatively equally
4 – Mostly gay, more than incidentally heterosexual
5 – Mainly gay, very little straight behaviour/interest
6 – Completely Gay

6. What do you think of Kinsey’s scale?

7. Where do you feel you would place on Kinsey’s scale? Why?

8. Where do you believe most of the population falls on the scale?

9. Where do you believe a bisexual person should fall on the scale?

10. Do you believe a bisexual person can lean more towards one sex than the other?

Types of bisexuality

There are different acknowledged types of bisexual, with the following being the main types. The next few questions will be regarding these.

---
Concurrent relationship bisexuals – Have relationships with 2 or more people at once
Alternating Bisexuals – Will be in a committed, monogamous relationship with one person, and if the relationship ends, they will seek a partner of a different sex.
Emotional bisexuals – Are emotionally attracted to both sexes, but only have sexual relationships with one.
Motivational bisexuals – are sexually active with members of both sexes for personal gain, such as exciting their partner sexually, gaining an LGBT following (in the case of celebrities), or various other reasons (a gay person being married to the opposite sex to put off discrimination, etc).
Sex-Only Bisexuals – are sexually interested in both sexes, but can only form relationships with one.
Balanced Bisexuals – are equally attracted to both sexes, and can have relationships with either.
Transitional Bisexuals – Are bisexual for a short time as they come to terms with/explore their homosexuality.
Conditional Bisexuals – People who wouldn’t otherwise be bisexual, but who display homosexual behaviour in a same-sex environment (i.e. inmates in prison, students at a gender-specific school).

11. Do you believe that all of the above categories are displaying bisexuality?

12. Which ‘type’ of bisexuality do you think most closely represents bisexuality?

13. Are there any types of bisexuality which you believe aren’t really bisexual?

Do you know someone who has identified as bisexual? Ex boyfriend and my best friend is gay.

Did you believe that the person was bisexual? He is bisexual in fact he is dating a guy at the moment.

If not, do you believe they were ‘bisexual’ to gain attention?
No.

The Basics (Everything from here on long answer please!)

1. What is your definition of bisexuality? Bisexauality to me is a person who is sexually, emotionally, physically attracted to both woman and men.

2. Do you believe that bisexuality is a real sexuality? Why or Why not? I believe bisexuality is a real sexuality because nobody can choose who they can both love both genders. like gays they choose who they are attracted to it doesnt have to be one gender love is love. its the truth.

3. If an individual hasn’t been sexually active with members of the same sex, do you believe they are truly bisexual, or
just very curious?
I for one being a member of the bisexual community, have not had any sexual enounters with a women just kissing, maybe some people just haven't found the right person they want to be with. But if they truly want to have sex with that person whatever gender they are then i believe that they are truly bisexual.

4. What is your definition of bi-curiosity?
Bi-curiosity is a person who wants to experiment with both or the opposite gender to find out there sexuality.

5. Do you believe all people are curious? Why or Why not?
Not all of them arent curious this is because if people were all curious we wouldnt have had to experiement on both genders and try new things this evolves into bisexuality.

Balanced Bisexuals – are equally attracted to both sexes, and can have relationships with either.

About You (yes/no or as short as possible please!)

Age: 16

Gender: Female

Sexuality: Pansexual

Faith: Agnostic

Political Stance: Don't care

Are you open regarding your sexuality? Yessum

Do you believe homosexuality is morally wrong? Nope

Do you believe bisexuals are just confused? Not really.

Have you ever identified as bisexual? Yeah

Do you know someone who has identified as bisexual? Mhmm

Did you believe that the person was bisexual? It's not really my place to say if they are or not

If not, do you believe they were ‘bisexual’ to gain attention? It really doesn't matter to me.

The Basics (Everything from here on long answer please!)

1. What is your definition of bisexuality?
Obviously someone who likes both sexes.

2. Do you believe that bisexuality is a real sexuality? Why or Why not?
Yeah. It can be. All it means is that private parts don't matter.

3. If an individual hasn’t been sexually active with members of the same sex, do you believe they are truly bisexual, or
just very curious?
I think that sex in a relationship doesn't say how you feel about them at all. It's not needed to be physically, mentally and emotionally attracted to someone.

4. What is your definition of bi-curiosity?
Someone who doesn't know if they like the oposite sex, but knows they like the same sex (or vise-versa, which is more uncommon)

5. Do you believe all people are curious? Why or Why not?
Everyone has a curious thought at one point or another, whether they hate it or accept it is up to them.

6 (haha)

7. Where do you feel you would place on Kinsey’s scale? Why?
4, simply because I like girls more than guys, but that doesn't mean I won't date a guy.

8. Where do you believe most of the population falls on the scale?
Around 2

9. Where do you believe a bisexual person should fall on the scale?
2-4

10. Do you believe a bisexual person can lean more towards one sex than the other?
Typically they do.

Not exactly, I mean, they kind of are, but some of them really don't count in my book.

12. Which ‘type’ of bisexuality do you think most closely represents bisexuality?
It should be the balanced one, but a lot of times it's not.

13. Are there any types of bisexuality which you believe aren’t really bisexual?
Well, the 'conditional' one for one... and the 'sex-only' kind of gets on my nerves.

14. Do you think there are any other types of bisexuality which aren’t listed here?
There could be, but it really doesn't matter what kind they are... as long as they know what they are.

---

The “Bisexual Trend”

Teens:

15. Have you noticed a rise in the amount of teenagers identifying as bisexual?
Yes I have

16. What are your opinions regarding teens identifying as bisexual?
Some want attention, yes... but I'm hoping that most of it is just people being more open minded. It's mainly females, but there are males too.

17. Do you believe that bisexuality is just a teen phase which eventually leads to homosexuality?
It could, it could not. It all depends on the person.

18. Do you believe that bisexuality is something teens experience when going through college, and never touch on again?
In some cases, maybe, but it all depends on the person, like I said.

19. Do you believe that teenagers identifying as bisexual (and eventually relapsing to being straight) has a negative effect on the homosexual community?
It could, because it sometimes discourages people.

Adults:

19. Have you yourself gone through a period of bisexuality? Was this a transitional period to homosexuality?
I was bi, and then I was a lesbian, and then I decided to become pansexual due to the fact that you really can't judge love by anything, it's just love.

20. Do you believe you were truly bisexual during this period of time?
I guess... I was pretty young

21. Do you believe someone can be bisexual for their entire life?
Could be, it all depends on their mind set.

22. When a female identifies herself as bisexual, are you less likely to believe her than if a male did the same? Why or why not?
Most females seem to have no problem with saying it because they get less crap for it than males do. If a guy says it, it's terrible and gross to most others.

23. Do you believe the amount of people ‘faking’ bisexuality has a harmful effect on the homosexual community?
I guess, because it makes everyone think that everyone is a faker,

‘Barsexuals’

24. Do you believe that bisexuality is being used as an attention grabbing technique? Why or why not?
It is to some people, yeah

25. What is your opinion of barsexuals (straight women who kiss other women in bars to get drinks)?
Whores?

26. Do you believe barsexuals are actually bisexual?
Not really, just drunk idiots

27. Do you believe barsexuals have a negative effect on the homosexual community?
Yes

28. Do you yourself know someone who could be described as a barsexual?
I'm sure I do

Long-Term Bisexuality

29. Do you believe someone is still bisexual, even if they are in a lifelong relationship with one person?
They could be, because the attraction to both sexes is still there

30. Do you believe that a person stops being bisexual when they stop displaying bisexual behaviour?
No. Not really.

31. Would you feel insecure in a long-term relationship with a bisexual person?
Not really, it depends on the person.

32. Would you be afraid of infidelity in a long-term monogamous relationship with a bisexual person?
Kinda

33. Do you believe bisexual people are capable of being happy in a long-term relationship?
Yeah

34. Do you believe that bisexuality continues to evolve and change over the course of a person’s life?
It could, and it could not.

Bisexuality and the Homosexual Community

If you are not homosexual, please feel free to move on to the next section of questions. If you would like to answer the following questions, you may still do so.

35. Do you believe that bisexuality challenges the homosexual movement? Why or Why not?
Not exactly. It all depends on how people take it.

36. Do you believe that bisexuals use their heterosexual relationships to gain acceptance from friends and family
members?
I know I do! XD

37. What effects do you believe bisexuality has on the homosexual community?
A lot of people have a better time accepting those who like both sexes than those who just like the same sex simply because there is still a chance for a heterosexual relationship. A lot of people take homosexuals as a joke simply because there are a lot of people who like both sexes or just the opposite sex.

38. Do you believe that gay issues are bisexual issues as well?
It could be, but a lot of bisexuals don't seem to mind much attention to the homosexual issues.

39. Do you believe that bisexuals have different issues than homosexuals?
Yeah. A lot of people tend to say 'pick a gender and stick with it' but other than that, there's really not any different problems.

40. Do you believe there is or have you seen examples of biphobia/bi-hate in the homosexual community?
Ahahahahaha yeah! XD

41. How do you believe the homosexual community views bisexuals?
Like I keep saying, depends on the person, I don't like to consider the whole of things because everyone is different.

42. Any other comments/opinions?
Nooot really. razz

Bisexuality and the Heterosexual Community

If you are not heterosexual, please feel free to move onto the next set of questions. If you would like to answer the following questions, please feel free to do so.

43. Do you believe bisexual individuals are really just “Closet gay”
Some could be. A lot of homosexuals like to say that they are 'bisexual' and then tend to have relationships with the same sex anyways, just so they will be a little more accepted than if they were fully gay.

44. Are you more likely to believe a woman or a man when a person identifies as bisexual?
A man really, because a lot of women say it.

45. Do you believe female bisexuality is more accepted (and even encouraged) than male bisexuality is?
Heck yes, and I think it's retarded.

46. Do you believe that bisexuals are a member of the heterosexual or homosexual community?
In the middle (duh)

47. Do you believe that bisexual people are actively interested in threesomes and group sex?
Pfft. Probably.

48. Do you believe that bisexual people are more promiscuous than people of other sexualities?
They can be, but everyone's different.

49. If someone is open and visible regarding their bisexuality(jewellery, facebook, buttons, etc) are you more or less likely to believe that they are really bisexual?
I wouldn't know really until I got to know the person.

Any other comments/opinions?
Again, no.

Bisexuals:

If you are not bisexual, please feel free to move onto the next set of questions. If you would like to answer the following questions, please feel free to do so.

50. Do you openly identify as bisexual? Why or Why not?
I guess so? I prefer the term pansexual, but it really doesn't bother me to be called either.

51. Do you prefer one sex over the other?
Yes. I tend to date females more than males, but I have no problem with either.

52. Have you been a victim of ‘biphobia’?
Of course.

53. Do you find that the homosexual community welcomes you?
For the most part, yes. :]

54. Do you find that the heterosexual community welcomes you?
Again, yes. Most of my friends or the people I meet really don't care when I tell them.

55. Do you find that being a visible bisexual (having people know) causes problems with the people around you?
It can, but that just weeds out the friends I don't need.

56. Did you grow up religious?
Not at all.

57. Are you a child from a single-parent family?
Sorta, it's complicated. XD

58. If possible, please name three famous bisexuals whom you are a fan of (really for my own curiosity)
I'm not really a fan of any, but there are a lot of celebrities that are (Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, etc.)

59. If you would like to, please feel free to share either your story or any other comments/opinions.
I've had it easy with everything pretty much. I'm open about my sexuality. I don't go around and tell the world, but if they read any of my profiles on websites then they know. I don't care if they do or do not know. I know what I am, and even if they don't like who I am I don't give a flying poop because that just means that they don't matter to me.

---
60. Are there any questions that you feel I should have asked? If so, what are they, and what would
your response to them be?
I can't really think of any at the moment, but I will keep you posted. :]

I really don't mind if you quote me at all, pen names aren't needed either.

Age: 19

Gender: Female

Sexuality: Alternating Bisexual (I'll be in a relationship with one sex... and if it doesn't work out, I'll seek/wait for the other sex and alternate.)

Faith: Christian

Political Stance: Hippie

Are you open regarding your sexuality?
- Yep.

Do you believe homosexuality is morally wrong?
- No, love is not wrong. smile

Do you believe bisexuals are just confused?
- Nope.

Have you ever identified as bisexual?
- Yep

Do you know someone who has identified as bisexual?
- Yes

Did you believe that the person was bisexual?
- Why not.

If not, do you believe they were ‘bisexual’ to gain attention?
- I know some who do that, some who don't.

The Basics (Everything from here on long answer please!)

1. What is your definition of bisexuality?
Bi - meaning two - sexuality is when a male or female happens to be sextually or romantically attracted to both male and female individuals. It is a chemical imbalance in hormones - thus being genetic, as heterosexuality or homosexuality are a different balance of said chemicals. I'm not a biologist or physicist, but I can't go wrong with known logic.

2. Do you believe that bisexuality is a real sexuality? Why or Why not?
Yes because... I've had girlfriends and boyfriends.

3. If an individual hasn’t been sexually active with members of the same sex, do you believe they are truly bisexual, or just very curious?
- It's not my place to judge that.

4. What is your definition of bi-curiosity?
- If one wants to know why they are feeling this way toward BOTH men and women.... it's "BI" curiosity... instead of trying with just ONE gender, they try with both. Bi = 2.

5. Do you believe all people are curious? Why or Why not?
- I believe that people are curious on MANY things... but i know more and more people are just born with it.

- It's very inaccurate. You are either gay, straight, or bi. There is no "mostly".

7. Where do you feel you would place on Kinsey’s scale? Why?
3, coz I was born that way

8. Where do you believe most of the population falls on the scale?
- in regards to the population ONLY... (( NOT to individuals alone )) 2.

9. Where do you believe a bisexual person should fall on the scale?
.....3

10. Do you believe a bisexual person can lean more towards one sex than the other?
No. That makes them either straight, gay, or attention whore.

- Why not.

12. Which ‘type’ of bisexuality do you think most closely represents bisexuality?
- .... Um... lol wow srsly? Bi = digs both sexes. So all of them

13. Are there any types of bisexuality which you believe aren’t really bisexual?
- it was tl;dr, so anything that was based PURELY off plain emotion. That's pansexual.

14. Do you think there are any other types of bisexuality which aren’t listed here?
- You forgot the animals..... jk jk jk XD

---

Teens:

15. Have you noticed a rise in the amount of teenagers identifying as bisexual?

- It can. If the person's biological layout calls for it.

18. Do you believe that bisexuality is something teens experience when going through college, and never touch on again?
- Nah. Not all the time. Everyone's different.

19. Do you believe that teenagers identifying as bisexual (and eventually relapsing to being straight) has a negative effect on the homosexual community?
- Yeah, they turn Neon Christian Roflmao

Yep

21. Do you believe someone can be bisexual for their entire life?
Yep

22. When a female identifies herself as bisexual, are you less likely to believe her than if a male did the same? Why or why not?
I'm more likely to believe females because RARELY are there male bisexuals. At least where I'm from. I won't think they're lying, I'll just be shocked lol

23. Do you believe the amount of people ‘faking’ bisexuality has a harmful effect on the homosexual community?
Yea... bitches. Get your OWN flag colors....

‘Barsexuals’

24. Do you believe that bisexuality is being used as an attention grabbing technique? Why or why not?
Yes it is, and it's very immature...

I've been bi for 9 years... I've never had a mishap with a man or woman before i figured out I liked both men and women. I grew up looking at the world as one big picture and not as tiny pictures... there is no "damnation" for loving others... there cannot be... God is too forgiving for that... and I realized... why be ashamed of these feelings? Let the world know. I'm Jessy Ellen Griffin, Alternating Bisexual... and I'm not ashamed.

18. Do you believe that bisexuality is something teens experience when going through college, and never touch on again? Depends.

19. Do you believe that teenagers identifying as bisexual (and eventually relapsing to being straight) has a negative effect on the homosexual community? Not really, as long as they don't start bashing what they once were.

27. Do you believe barsexuals have a negative effect on the homosexual community? Yes, as people will eventually start thinking that all in the homosexual community is after nothing but handouts.

28. Do you yourself know someone who could be described as a barsexual? Not really.

Long-Term Bisexuality

29. Do you believe someone is still bisexual, even if they are in a lifelong relationship with one person? Yes I do, and I know a few bi-sexual couples that have been together multiple years and they still admit to being bi, and occasionally bring in a third person of any sex. (Thats another story, lol)

30. Do you believe that a person stops being bisexual when they stop displaying bisexual behaviour? Not really

31. Would you feel insecure in a long-term relationship with a bisexual person? Nope again wouldn't that make me a hypocrite?

About You (yes/no or as short as possible please!)

Age: 21

Gender: F

Sexuality: Bi-curious

Faith: Christian

Political Stance: Neutral

Are you open regarding your sexuality? To some

Do you believe homosexuality is morally wrong? No

Do you believe bisexuals are just confused? It depends

Have you ever identified as bisexual? No, not by others

Do you know someone who has identified as bisexual? No

Did you believe that the person was bisexual? Yes

If not, do you believe they were ‘bisexual’ to gain attention? Yes

The Basics (Everything from here on long answer please!)

1. What is your definition of bisexuality?
It is when a male or female finds either gender equally attractive. He or She can equally imagine His/Herself in a committed relationship with either gender.

2. Do you believe that bisexuality is a real sexuality? Why or Why not?
Maybe. I think that one has to think really thoroughly and have been in many relationships with either gender to come to the conclusion that he/she is bisexual, because I define bisexuality as having EQUAL interest in men and women, not leaning toward one side or the other. If they are leaning toward one side or the other even the slightest, I would consider that bi-curious.

3. If an individual hasn’t been sexually active with members of the same sex, do you believe they are truly bisexual, or just very curious?
Just very curious

4. What is your definition of bi-curiosity?
Someone one who leans toward preferring one sex over the other, but wants to know what it's like to be in a sexual relationship with the less preferred sex

5. Do you believe all people are curious? Why or Why not?
No, because I know some guys who gag at the thought of a gay relationship. I don't think they hate it, I think they just find it gross and genuinely don't like the thought of it.

Pretty reasonable rating. I think it covers all types of preferences unless you're into transgendered or other unmentioned genders.

7. Where do you feel you would place on Kinsey’s scale? Why?
2, because I am a bicurious female, but find a long-term, committed relationship with a man more probable

8. Where do you believe most of the population falls on the scale?
1, I remember learning that 1 in 10 family members are gay, so it's common but not overwhelmingly common.

9. Where do you believe a bisexual person should fall on the scale?
3

10. Do you believe a bisexual person can lean more towards one sex than the other?
Yes

No

12. Which ‘type’ of bisexuality do you think most closely represents bisexuality?
Balanced bisexuals

13. Are there any types of bisexuality which you believe aren’t really bisexual?
I think that balanced bisexuals is the only real definition of bisexual, the others, I'm not so sure.

14. Do you think there are any other types of bisexuality which aren’t listed here?
No, pretty much covers it
