We (my husband and I) got our first two ferrets, Ellie and Suzie in April of 2009. They're great together, inseparable.
Then we got another ferret, Roxanne (Roxy), in September of 2009. She was a baby at the time, no more than 10 weeks old. Ellie and Suzie attacked her as soon as they saw her. So we kept Roxy separate from them and in her own cage. We kept trying to acclimate them, but with no success.
Ellie and Suzie play together all the time and we play with Roxy, but Roxy seems so lonely sometimes. She'll look at Ellie and Suzie's cage with what we believe is a longing to play but we can't let them near her.
We would get another ferret for Roxy to play with but we don't have the money. Any advice on what we should do?
