Starting October 15th and ending the 30th, you can obtain a Mew in HG/SS via Nintendo wi-fi. So mark your calenders kiddies, and find yourself a wi-fi hot spot.

Got my Mew! The only real downside of it is that it's level 5 and only knows Pound at the moment.

I was trying to squeeze in time today to come announce this! XD
Yes, it is level 5, but it isn't a downside. When you raise it from level five you can have a much more powerful Mew in the end than one raised from level thirty or fifty. That's a plus, I imagine?
It also comes in a Cherish Ball.
I have one each for my Heart Gold and Soul Silver games.

I'm not much of a fan of EV (that's what it's called, right?) training. I tried it once w/ a Glacion, and I wasn't having any fun.

You do not need to do deliberate EV training and doing all that math and measuring if you just want to enjoy raising a pokemon, but whether or not you do, a pokemon raised gradually from low levels will be much more powerful than one raised from a higher level at the outset. That is a fact. It is WHERE they gain it that matters to some people.
