Avery checked the address scrawled on the scrap of paper against the one on the mailbox, then nodded and stuffed it into the pocket of the baggy surfer shorts he wore. Worn out Birkenstocks covered his feet, and scrapes, bandages and bruises decorated his deeply tanned skin, evidences of his continuing escapades in the great outdoors. It was the dog days of summer, and he was milking it for all it was worth before Autumn came full force. He hated the idea of having to bundle up, but he fancied the idea of frostbite even less.
One thing Avery had never done, even now that he had become a young teen, was cover up his fluffy white wings, ignoring even the dubious stares and outright jeers this brought him from some people. Some called it confidence, others called it obliviousness, and probably both were right. But, faced with the visit he was making today... Avery finger combed his hair, laughed at himself for doing so, and knew that both actions were due to a nervousness he'd never admit out loud.
The young angel walked up to the door, took a breath, stood up straight, and knocked a few times, making sure they were loud enough to reach within. Then, he waited, resisting the urge, barely, to go up and knock again a few more times.
What is taking him so long? He wondered, though it had, in reality, not even been ten seconds.

There was a sound foot steps from within the house, two sets of someone small racing toward the door before they hit the door, as though whoever it was had tackled the door to try to startle the one who was outside. There was the sound of one voice, a rather young voice, growling in a manner that was a failing attempt at sounding menacing.
"What are you doing?" A voice called out, coming toward the front door to try to chase the twins away from the front door. He figured that it must be the mail carrier, who else would the twins get so upset over being there? He opened his wings up, giving them a flutter, then waved them off, "Go on, go! I need to answer the door." It took a moment more to chase they off far enough so that it would be safe to open up the door without fear of them running out to pounce whoever was out there.
Keiji turned around to opened the door up, "Hello, can I help..." He blinked a couple times and seemed to go dead quiet, starring eyes wide at the one that was standing there. This was, it was a dream and nothing more, what was going on...? He was... he was pretty sure that he was losing his mind.

Avery's curiosity burned to know what was going on on the other side of that door, but as soon as it opened, all of that was pushed aside. They stared at each other, the seconds growing, and the corner's of Avery's mouth tilted upwards into an ever growing smile, until soon he was grinning. He didn't seem to be overly aware of Keiji's blank expression.
"Hi!" he exclaimed, not really sure what to say. Luckily, at least in this case, his mouth had never had a hard time filling in for his brain. "I hadn't seen you in... forever, so I thought I'd come and find you."
It was a poor and cryptic explanation, but the hero worshiping expression and the excited bouncing on the balls of his feet should have been a clear indicator where Avery's thoughts were. Here was his brother, his older brother, who he hadn't seen in ages, and he was finally meeting him again!

Keiji blinked after what felt like an eternity before he gave a somewhat shaky breath. His brother... he was... here... it was as though his brain had been moving in super slow motion before he stepped forward, reaching to catch hold of Avery and pulled the younger boy into his arms, hugging him tightly, "Avery... your really here." He murmured.
The tone in his voice sounded as though he were some where between shocked and awed at the moment, as though he'd thought that he might have been things when he'd first opened the door and until he touched him and realized the truth. His little brother, someone he'd almost thought he would never see again had suddenly appeared in front of him. He'd had dreams about this meeting on many occasions, about what he would do in this situation, what he might say. All of those things seemed to fly out of the window and all he could do was cling tightly to Avery as though to keep him from vanishing.

The reception was enough to shock even Avery's runaway mouth into silence, and instead, he just returned the hug, grinning madly the whole time. He'd really found his brother! He was here, big as life, and all those fussy rules hadn't stopped him!
Eventually Avery's tongue picked up the slack and he said, "Yup, it's me! I had to do some snooping to do it, though!" He stepped back from the hug, and gave Keiji another once over.
"Wow, Kei, you're just like I remember, only not as much taller than me. But that makes sense, 'cause I grew, of course," Avery continued, rolling his eyes at his own obvious remark. "I hope you don't mind me coming to visit, like, you're not busy, are you? I can come back later, if you are, now that I know where you live. I heard someone else come to the door before you, and they sounded like they didn't want me here. Do you have room mates? Can I meet them... uh, if they don't mind."
Avery's motormouth finally petered out, and his grin turned a bit sheepish for a moment, before regaining its usual wattage.

Keiji happily hugging his brother for a long while until Avery set to happily chattering and that was cue to release him so that he could better hear what he was saying, taking in every word as though it were the most important thing that was ever said... which given who was talking it was just that. His brother could be telling him the current weather forecast and he would listen intently to him, "Ahhh, snooping? I hope that you didn't do anything that might get you in trouble." As happy as he was about his brother being here in front of him he found himself worrying over his safety. He would hate to think that he was going to end up in trouble because of his snooping around.
As his little brother chattered on about how how Kei was just as he remembered he found himself really looking at him, giving a little nod of his head as he studied him, "Wow, you did grow didn't you?" He murmured, lifting one hand to rest it on top of his head and seemed to be thinking on how much he had grown. He was far bigger then he had been the last time that he'd seen him, wasn't he? He felt rather guilty for all that he had missed when it came to his little brother, "No, no... please don't go. Your more then welcome to stay as long as you want and visit as often as you want." He told him in a rush, not wanting for his brother to leave and vanish out of his life once again after so short a visit.
He glanced toward the door then back to Avery, "They act like that with everyone, they are like dogs and think that they have to guard the house." He explained before he motioned to the door, "They are a bit excitable and they bite on occasion but if you want to meet them you can."

Avery's face took on a sheepish little 'o' of half-surprise half-chagrin, before he returned to grinning.
"Well, yeah. You know how you can look things up online? I went to a site and stuff..." he trailed off, not mentioning using his mom's credit card, and pushed the conversation onto the next topic.
"Yeah, I definitely want to meet them! If they stay with you, they must be extra cool!" he chirped. He fiddled with one of the bandaids on his arm while shifting his weight from foot to foot excitedly, waiting to be escorted inside. He did have at least that much in manners.
"I'll get your number, and then next time I'll call, or you can come over and meet Mom and Ali and Syb and Ri... and... everyone!" he added, as the thought occurred to him.
There really were many people in his home, now that he thought about it. Even if half of them only seemed to be there occasionally anymore. Everyone had grown up or had always been grown up.

Keiji tilted his head to one side, "Look things up online?" He asked, not really very up to date when it came to technology and all of the stuff that it could do. Oh well, so long as the Online was able to help Avery to find him he supposed, giving a smile as he turned to look toward the door and he walked forward, leading his little brother inside, "Just keep your eyes open as they might be anywhere." He warned Avery.
He knew the pair quite well really good at hiding and ambushing people... but at the same time it would be less likely that they would be able to stay in hiding for long when there was someone new around. Try as they might the pair were more like excited puppies then they were demons at the moment, it was just in their nature since they were so young. It took all of two minutes at the very most before the pair peeked out from hiding... and the one with the bright blond hair raced out first toward Avery in an attempt to pounce him.
There was a little sigh from Keiji as he reached out to catch hold of the back of the boy's shirt pulling him up short, "I think not, its time to behave and introduce yourself, Tsukiko."
The blond boy's ears flicked from side to side for a moment, tail swishing, then he looked up at Avery, "I'm Tsukiko!" He told Avery, looking over his shoulder to point, "Over there is Yoko, hes my twin brother! He doesn't talk during the day though."

"Uh, yeah! I found a site that you put someone's name in, and you can do searches and stuff. You wouldn't believe how many people I had to go through until I found you!" Avery exclaimed, and threw his arms up in the air to express the sheer magnitude of his efforts.
"I almost thought I found you once before, but... well, uh, I didn't," he finished, a bit lamely, but grinning at his own fail. He didn't mention how upset he'd been that time.
As they walked inside, Avery peered around his brother, blinking as his eyes adjusted to the dimmer interior. His white wings ruffling behind him with anticipation, and he was still bounding on his feet. He paused for an instant, wondering if he should take off his shoes at the door... his mom always made him...
Well, Keiji'll stop me if he doesn't want me to, but if Mom finds out... he thought, grimaced, and toed off the dirty sandals near the door. He wiggled his toes on the surface of the floor, much preferring that sensation to being cooped up in shoes.
Just as he turned around from that, not given much of a chance to see anything else of the interior despite his eyes now being adjusted, he saw someone racing towards him and braced for impact. Needlessly as it turned out.
"Hi, Tsukiko! Hi, Yoko!" the young teen answered cheerfully, waving to them both in turn. "I'm Avery! Keiji's my big brother, so I guess that kind of makes us brothers, too, maybe?" he asked, and then continued, in his usual manner, "Why doesn't he talk? And why only during the day? Is he shy? Or do you switch and he does the talking at night?" he asked, coming up with a couple of scenarios before he paused to let someone get a word in edgewise.
