The character Eirena Gerrek is based off of the roleplay system of Vampire the Masquerade. She is of the vampire clan Lasombra. Where she differs from the roleplay system is that she is not totally evil. In VtM, there are two major factions of vampires, Camarilla and Sabbat. The Camarilla are your basic good guys. Whereas the Sabbat are the bad guys. At least that is the short version of it. Lasombra are generally Sabbat. She can be evil, she can be heartless, but usually, she is not. She cares about those she feels she needs to protect.

Eirena's powers are based on the game system as well.

Her major power is Obtenebration or Shadowmancy. Obtenebration is the term that is used by VtM so it is what I use. Obtenebration is the control of shadows or the Umbra.

Her second major power is Potence. Or super strength. She can easily pick up a car and throw it. Though she doesn't usually exert her powers to show her strength.

She also has Dominate which allows her to control others through vocal commands. She doesn't use it very often but she is proficient in it.

Over the years she has also learned Celerity, or super speed, and Auspex which allows her to see auras and even speak to the minds of her ghouls.

For the most part, she is a caring individual who takes care of those she feels obligated to protect. She has lived a long unlife and has amassed a large amount of wealth over the years. She doesn't feel that wealth should just sit in a bank collecting interest, she spends it on her friends and those she cares for. Her home is a mansion in San Diego. To look at it, one would probably assume that it is another house owned by someone with more money than they know what to do with. Not really a home, but a possession to show off to others. Her mansion is not like this. Though vastly expensive, and well kept, her mansion often supports parties for her servants and their families. As well as holiday get togethers for those she cares for. Every antique in her home is authentic, though she cares for it well and doesn't rub her fortune in the face of others.
