[Somewhere Inbetween] Quote: You know how the story goes... Some god forsaken great, great, great Uncle you never knew you had kicks the bucket and leaves behind the will of a spooky old, creepy building to you and you get it under the circumstances that you spend one full night in it. Except my great, great, great Uncle didn't say anything about not bringing a friend, and rather than a house or mansion it's an old resort and all the land attatched to it that's up on some mountain... -- "Augh, my god, hold on. I think the lock's frozen." Cassi's teeth chattered as she tried to turn the key to the front door of the ancient resort. Freize stood behind her rather still and looking as though the cold wasn't nearly getting to him as badly as the other. "Should I...?" "No, no. I've got. Ah, there we go." The door creaked open slowly and the both stepped in, shocked into silence at how large the front room was. "Wow, this must be the main lobby." Freize walked across the creeky floor toward the front desk, moving around and to a large board where dozens and dozens of keys, dull and lack-luster from years of not being used hung. Deftly he plucked two from off the board and handed one to her. "Here, Room 302 for you, 301 for me." Cassi took the key in her gloved hand and burried her mouth and nose against her scarf, huffing into it. "I bet there arn't any blankets. And that it's cold. I hate the cold." "Well.. we could always leave." He shrugged, he'd agreed to come with her as a friend. "Nonono! I want this place." She began walking, heading toward a staircase that lead up, stopping on the top floor and heading down the halls, her eyes scanning the door plates. Finally with an 'Ah-HA!' she stopped in front of one door. "302. This is mine." She pointed across the hall at room 301. "There's yours. See you tomorrow!" She opened her door and slid inside, shutting it behind her. The male watched the girl head into her room and then gave a small shake to his head, turning and walking into his own. He wasn't quite sure what she saw in this place- but then again, Freize had trouble understanding many modern day wonders sometimes. He didn't see the big deal all the time, but he could tell this place was important to his friend, so he would stay. He took a good look around the room now, tucking his hands away into his pockets. The cold didn't affect him like it did the other- as a matter of fact, it was as if he couldn't feel the cold at all.. Maybe it had something to do with his blood? Hm... This place wasn't that bad, actually... As a matter of fact, he could really get used to it. The style of the entire resort was somewhat old, it almost made him nostalgic. He could remember when all buildings looked like this.. He sighed to himself and plodded across the floor, brow furrowed. He was testing to make sure the floor hadn't rotted and wouldn't cave in under weight. He made it to the bed alright- it seemed fine. He turned without further thought and fell back onto the bed. He jolted when something touched his elbow, something hidden beneath the sheets. Had he been more in-tune with temperatures, he would have known that whatever it was, it was radiating a strong, blazing heat. He should probably get it out from beneath the blankets before it burned them. He pulled down the blankets and peered unto a strange... Egg. It was like it was made from lava and stone- it LOOKED hot, and so he hesitated to touch it.. Then decided what happens happens and moved the egg to a safer place on the floor, making it a little bed- although he hoped it didn't catch the bed on fire. He promptly trotted back to the bed, flopped back onto it, and fell asleep staring at that strange egg.

[Fairy Tales and Castles] As elsewhere his friend dreamed of waters and freedom, Freize's dreams had been captivated by a dark cavern, the floor streaked with rock and lava. You could see the heat pulsing up in the air, and for once- as he often could in dreams, but not in actual life- he felt it. He drew in a deep breath and wiped sweat from his brow; it was positively SCORCHING. For some reason he ventured in further, stepping over the rocks, as if searching for something... Although he wasn't sure what. He eventually saw flames and steam erupting from the ground and lava, and heard noises far off in the noises. Strange, garbled, eerie noises. It made his hair stand on end- which mean he automatically went on the defensive. Freize's lip curled to reveal one of his fangs- but his thoughts were suddenly interupted as a wall of flames erupted upwards before him. Through the fire, a figure was moving towards him, a strange... Animal-like figure... He jolted awake as suddenly a good deal of weight plopped onto his stomach, "Oof!" Staring at him curiously was some wierd... Dog.. He yelped and jumped, moving quickly off the bed. The little creature fell to the floor with a growl, but proved resilient as it hopped back onto its feet. Quote: The blankets were thrown back and she was out her door and into Freize's room within a moment, colliding with the taller as he stood by the side of his bed, staring at a small dog, a skull placed firmly over it's face. Heat virtually radiated from the little beast. Before she could ask what it was a shuffling sound came from the doorway as the fuzzy, obviously aquatic creature made it's way into the room, spotting Cassi and moving over to her, snuggling against her side. "What is that?!" "I... I have no clue." She was a affronted by it's nuzzles. Freize glanced over at the little dog as it stood, tail giving a short wag as it padded over and sat at his feet, looking up at him and panting lightly, steam coming from it's mouth as it's warm breath hit cold air. His eyes flickered in recognition. "Hey... it looks... wait a second!" He moved over to the dresser in his room, rummaging around until he pulled out a little leather bound book. "I was reading this before I fell asleep and had that weird dream, listen to this. Lord Rupert's Journal Myth, n. A traditional, typically ancient story dealing with supernatural beings. I've got the lake monster from Japan as well as a hellhound. I've gathered others here as well, they'll all be part of my wonderful collection, forever. I must find more, more. So many. I'll prove them all wrong! "Lake... monster..?" She blinked down at the affectionate little creature that pressed it's head against her side, nuzzling into her. "And a hellhound." Freize gazed down at the little puppy that sat wagging it's tail at his feet. The two exchanged glances, eyebrows quirked. "I think your uncle was mad." "Yes, well, it runs in the family."

Customer Jolly_R_Rogers Roger stumbled to the door of the resort and dropped his bags on the front steps. "Umm," he said aloud to himself, "do I just go in, or do I knock? It would be rude not to knock, but then again... Well. I'll just sit here ntil the door opens. That sounds like a great idea!" Roger sat down beside the steps on top of his bag, waiting for someone to cross his path... Freize A figure made its way along the path towards the resort, whistling idly, seeming utterly unphased by the cold. Perhaps one might say that was because he was wearing snow gear or something of that sort- but it was quite the opposite. Freize was clad in his usual clothing; his short sleeved shirt and a baggy pair of pants. And, of course, no shoes or gloves. His blood made it easy for him to withstand the cold- as a matter of fact, he couldn't really feel most temperatures unless they were searing cold or burning hot. His companion, however, was making sure to avoid the snow like the plague. The hellhound snarled at that dastardly white stuff, ears folded back. He hated the cold. Freize stopped as he spotted someone sitting on the steps, "Hello...? Is it locked?" Why was someone just.. Sitting there..? It's impossible that both he and Cassi had forgotten to unlock the main doors. Impossible. Hakan spotted the stranger and peered out from behind his caretaker, watching them suspiciously. Jolly_R_Rogers Looking up, Roger noticed someone coming towards the resort. "Finally, I can get in... Hey there!" Roger ran up to the stranger (oblivious to his Myth, sadly sweatdrop ) and stoped in front of him. "Hello there. My name is Roger. I was planning on staying here at this resort, but I couldn't figure out whether or nt I should just go in or knock. I hope you know... Are you staying here too?" he said rather hurridly. It was cold and he wantd to go inside.
Freize The man smiled slowly, "Of course you can just go in." He shifted slightly, taking his pocketwatch from where it sat to peer at it. He was running slow today, he mentally noted. He'd have to wake up earlier next time he was transitioning from home to the resort. He glanced up afterwards, "I'm one of the owners. Freize. A pleasure." He extended a hand. "We would be happy to have you staying here. I hope you'll enjoy your stay." The myth, safe by the fact that he was virtually invisible to those without myths, now took some time to sniff at the stranger's feet. He let out an uncertain growl and looked up to Freize, relaxing after seeing his caretaker's reaction to the man. Jolly_R_Rogers "Phew, thanks. I was quite cold" Roger took Freize's hand and shook it. "Hello Freize. I guess you already know my name... And might I say, what a lovely resort you have here. I'll be proud to stay here." Black walked back to the door and picked up his luggage. "Umm, after you?"
Freize Freize nodded, "A pleasure, Roger. And thank you. It took some sprucing up, but I'm proud of what we have it at now." He could remember the old, worn down place he and Cassi had first entered... Phew. It sure had changed. And not without effort, either. He moved past the man, pushing open the door and moving inside. He stayed there, though, holding open the door for the new prospective customer. Hakan snorted and trotted along, keeping behind Roger for now, tail swaying back and forth idly. He wondered if Neo might be around, perking at the idea. It was always more fun with other Myths around. All these 'human-like' ceatures were so boring. He trotted in ahead now, peering around the lobby expectantly. Jolly_R_Rogers Rogers tepped into the lobby and gasped. "You call this sprucing up? It's amazing! Of course, I've only been to a few hotels in my life, but I expected a resort to be much the same. But.. I feel like I'm being watched, or something. Probably nothing though. I guess I should ask you about getting a room, then?..." Roger took in a large breath. "Sorry. I chatter a lot..." sweatdrop
Freize Freize chuckled warmly, "Thank you." He went to drop off his stuff at the counter, humming quietly to himself before turning his eyes back to Roger. "Being watched...?" He echoed curiously, and then shot a glance to Hakan. That glance lasted only a few moments, and then he was walking back towards Roger, "It's alright, you're fine... Let's see.. The keys are lined up over there- rooms are chosen by our customers, so you'll be able to be in whatever room you choose. You'll be able to pay at the end of you visit." Hakan ignored those boring people now, trotting his way over to the fire after unsuccessfully seeking out another Myth. He stretched out infront of it- this was his favorite spot. He closed his eyes contently. Jolly_R_Rogers "Any room? Wow. This place really is great. And it feels so cozy." The thought of eyes on his back had quickly left his mind as he began to look down the hallways. "But which room?..." Looking over, Roger noticed a map on the wall. "Usefull. Now, let's see. Floor 2, Room 001-015. Well That means I'll have to take room 013. Is that all right Freize, sir?"
Freize "Room 013..?" The weremutt echoed thoughtfully, one fang worrying at his lower lip lightly. "Hm... Yes, that sounds alright." There was someone in 113, but not 013. "Sure, you can have that room. Feel free to snatch up a key and go make yourself comfortable." He pointed once more to the rack of keys, smiling warmly. He could play host for awhile until he needed to run off and clean out the hotsprings.. He needed to get out that fur. Darn. Jolly_R_Rogers "Thank you Freize sir!" Roger snatched the key and ran towards the stairs. He looked around once more before jumping up two steps at a time.
-Later-
Roger collapsed onto his bed. "This place is wonderful. I'll have to explore some more. Maybe get another look at that map and find someplaces to go. Maybe meet some new people. Ahhhh..." Freize Freize watched him leave and chuckled softly, shaking his head... He then headed for the hot springs, giving a sharp whistle. Hakan's head jerked up, ears erect and eyes wide open. Moments later he was leisurely rising to his feet, stretching out and yawning widely. He only became hurried when he noticed that his caretaker wasn't in sight anymore. He looked about frantically before taking off after him.

[Time Flies] Freize hesitated at his door, back at his home off the mountain. His fingers lingered on the handle, blue eyes trailing towards the creature sitting beside the doorway. "Don't look at me like that." The hellhound was currently scowling at him, head lowered, ears flattened back. He let out a small huff of air, followed by an irritable growl. He didn't like coming back to the house that much, he didn't get much to do. The wide yard was nice, but there was still much more room to romp and play up at the mountain. Freize sighed. "We'll go up later." And then he whisked out the door and closed it firmly behind him. It had been a long time since they'd gone back up to the lodge- Freize had claimed to be 'too busy', which Hakan didn't really understand. He pushed himself up off his haunches, stretching out with a yawn. "Rrrrrmmm..." He shook off and then plodded off to find some company. After an unsuccessful search he retreated to the porch, tail tucked between his legs and his head lowered. However high and mighty he usually was, he hated being alone. He curled up on the porch and stared out sadly at the yard. He sighed and closed his eyes. Only moments later his head jerked up, tail wagging twice behind him at the sound of a familiar voice. "Alright Hakan, I give up! Let's go!" He was on his feet in seconds, bounding down the stairs and trailing happily at his caretaker's heels. Back to the mountains where they belonged.
