Raxephlon I talked it over with her. She is gonna do hellen instead, shes really exicted about it too! more than about patroclus i beleive! haha So heres my beef with starting the RP right now. We have hardly any people... and the people we do have all fight for the EA So... If you all could recruit a few Trojans, that woudl be epic!!
Honestly, this guild is very hard to recruit for. The problem is that most people don't understand, nor are familiar with Homer's Iliad. Most have just seen the movie "Troy", if anything. This guild requires a knowledge of something that doesn't relate to an Anime series or a TV show, and sadly, the masses that inhabit Gaia largely lack an appreciation for literary greats such as the Iliad.
TL;DR - Gaia is retarded, and doesn't like to "read dem sum learnin' bookz", so it's going to be difficult to get members.

I think the constraint on certain characters are also an issue. Most people don't want to play an older general and such. If I have to, then I'll double up. In fact, I think I have an idea for one of the characters. though it's still in my mind.

Possibly, but the characters aren't exactly set in stone. While they perform their respective roles according to the story, Rax gave us quite a lot of room for expansion of their roles. I can definitely see how your point is a valid one, however.

Shes right, there are some limitations. But at the same time I'm open to OC's as long as they can fit into the story.
And Renik is right about recruitment. It is tough. Im willing to adjust our base for the RP to more leanient on Mecha/Gundam esk things and use the Illiad as a sort of Skeleton upon which our plot is based.
If anyone has any ideas, let me know!
Right now, we really need a Menelaus, Agamemnon, Paris and Hector. I have considered Doubling as Menelaus just to get things rolling, But since Agamemnon, Paris, and Hector all interract with Achilles at some point, I cant really grab either of them.
So, If you think you know someone who would me interested in a Mecha war RP, or if youd like to double up, Go right ahead and start connecting the dots! smile
I'll be away until saturday but I will be back that morning/afternoon and we can dive right back into this thing! I'm very excited and already know how we can kick off our first location of Roleplay

I found this place looking for guilds and the idea struck me and quite unique, to be honest I'm not to familiar with Greek history/myth/legend but I'm quite willing to learn for the sake of the plot. I just must request that you allow me to play a female, as I don't role-play men. Ever.
