"Hearts," Randy said and took back the cards. He shuffled them together and began dealing again. As he dealt, he yawned too. Deite's sleepiness was infectious. "So," Randy said, trying to strike up some more interesting conversation, "tell me about yourself. I mean, I know a little about you, but what's your life like, your friends? I love hearing about people's lives." He smiled sincerely.

Deite organized her cards, one of each suit in sets of four in numerical order. "Hmm...my life." Deite yawned again, "Well my life is rather boring. I grew up as an only child with my parents. When I started to say I saw lines everywhere and could tell people things about themselves that they didn't even know I freaked out most of the adults, and the kids picked up the same attitude. So I don't have any friends other than curri, my pet hamster.
My Dad left with another woman when I was ten, afterward my Mom got in a car 'accident' and has been in a coma since then. I needed a job so I worked as a palm and crystal ball reader, mainly for woman suspicious of their husbands.. Once I got old enough I was able to quit that line of work and start working in the stores nearby. What about you?"

Randy liked her story, though it was a tale he'd heard before; it's original source made him chuckle because besides their shared past, Deite and this character shared very little.
"Curri's a great name for a hamster," Randy commented before reflecting on his childhood. "My childhood was pretty normal, except for the part where I started talking 'magic classes' at the local community center." Randy grinned. "Inattentive parents: a distractable father and a high-strung mother meant I spent most of my time alone. I have a sister, but she's a pain. So I built a family of my own: my best friend is my chosen sister, and my mentor, my father. I have brothers too numerous to count." Randy smiled. "Hell, I probably couldn't name all of their species."

Deite gave a real smile when Randy complemented her hamster, "It is a good name." She murmured quietly, almost to herself.
Placing down a five of diamonds, Deite thought to herself about what Randy had said.
It was rather quite surprising, the impression of Randy from what he had said..., Deite stopped herself. She was just about to do an analysis of Randy from what he had said, she was unused to being blind about somebody so she was making it up with mental assumptions with out any real base.
"What's your sister's name?" Deite asked.

"Marie," Randy said. "She's thirteen." Thinking about his sister made him think about home. He wondered briefly if anyone had left offerings for the kobold, but, he supposed, if they hadn't they'd be sorry.
He shifted his weight and stretched, his shirt lifting from the top of his jeans to reveal his lean torso. His shoulders returned to their original slump and he yawned. "So what do you do in your free time? Got any hobbies?"

((I am so sorry for taking forever to reply. I got caught up in life. I don't know if you still are willing to do this RP, I would be surprised if you did but I will post.))
Deite was uncomfortable, she really did not like to talk about herself. Deite was surprised that she would rather hear him talk then speak about herself, this sort of situation were someone was asking question about her. Deite covered up another yawn. Really, Deite thought to herself wearily, someone aught to know these things about oneself before dumped in a situation like this.
"I don't have any free time." Deite said plainly. Leaning towards Randy she asked. "You said strange things happen to you a lot right? What kind of things? You must have a number of interesting stories." Hopefully that would keep the attention away from her for a while.
