We've all had them. Or we will at some point sweatdrop
I thought I'd share my newest addition to my embarrassing moment repertoire.
So, last Friday was my first performance in recital class. I got to do my solo, with my piano accompanist, in front of ALL the music minors and majors, and all the professors and the department chairman. I'm sure we can all see where this is headed xd
So, I've been working all semester and the 3rd movement of Telemann's Viola Concerto in G major. I've had it memorized for weeks and I'm getting pretty darn good at it =) I've had plenty of rehearsals with my accompanist, Melody(love that name for a pianist!), as well as plenty of lessons with my teacher.
But for some reason, when I was playing it, I thought it would be a good idea to bring the music. I ended up playing things out of order and screwed up so bad that I lost my accompanist! We had to START OVER. IN FRONT OF EVERYONE.
It sounded much better the second time 3nodding
Luckily, I've got a very supportive department, and everyone I've heard from knows that it's something that happens to everyone.
I was a little disappointed, considering this was my first performance and I wanted to make a good impression, but at the same time... I'm just a freshmen and didn't get judged too harshly XD
It's also a little difficult being the only viola major, so I wanted to really show everyone what it sounded like and how pretty it was. I suppose they did hear it.... but it sure would have been nice to do it the first time! xd
So if anyone has any stories of terrible mess ups, embarrassing moments, or even comical ones, this would be a great place to do it!

Bert-dono rolled 3 6-sided dice:
3, 6, 1
Total: 10 (3-18)

First of all, I have to say that you are so brave to tackle a performance major on Viola. That's amazing not considering you play viola, but that added on, wow. P.S. That one's my favorite movement.
As for my favorite screw up... it was my first day playing as a freshman in high school. I actually had he gall to say my section leader was wrong, and she had been playing at least a decade longer than me. So not only was I corrected on my simple counting error, but I also got chewed on for a few months for being "the oh so knowing Bert". redface
Lesson: Humility is usually the best course of action.
Conclusion: I still can't count. sweatdrop But that's okay, because neither do the two who sit up front. rofl
