METAPLOT PART II Group 2 Players FULLMOON, GOLDFUR, RAZORQUIL, WHITEHAWK NPC: WHEATLION, L, DRAGONSPINE Reqs: This counts as a PD for Whitehawk, Expedition for Fullmoon/Goldfur, Leading an Expedition for Razorquil. Setting: What the hell is this stuff? Staring from the stairway, the entire floor is covered in writing live web and there are children trapped deep inside. Wheatlions tendrils are sharp enough to cut, as strong as spider silk, and contain nematocysts with a paralytic poison. The the Loremaster and Spellmaster and their apprentices are trying to get back from across the gate, so it's up to you kids and your chimera to rescue them. Good luck!

  Slyph spread her wings, feeling the air pouch under them. She had flown as fast as she dared with the smaller and younger chimera struggling to keep up. Swarms of techies and security workers scurried about in front of building 12 and a strange white lace was pushing it's way through the open windows on the third floor. Wheatlion. He had to be quick or people were going to die. Maybe they were already dead. There wasn't enough time to make a proper landing. When they were going slow enough, just above the ground, Dragonspine reached down and unhooked the sling from Slyph's harness, sending Fullmoon tumbling. "Go straight to my office! Don't move!" he yelled over his shoulder as he took off again. Whitehawk was still laid over the saddle, unconscious. He'd have to drop her off first. He urged Slyph towards an open window on the fourth floor, above the mayhem. She wasn't big enough to fit inside, but she clung to the frame with her claws while he lifted Whitehawk's small body through. Shutting the window behind him so she wouldn't fall if she shifted, he put his feet back in the stirrups and slapped Slyph's neck to let her know he was ready. Let the rescue operation begin.

Panting and out of breath, Caleb stopped as the building came into view. What the-? What was that stuff coming out of the building? Rex growled, the fur along his mane bristling as the chimera sensed something was very VERY wrong. Caleb walked forward, stroking the landrunner's head. "C'mon Rex..."
The pair headed inside, Rex still growling as they headed towards the third floor. Instructions? What? Who'd told them to go someplace?? They were too curious to have remembered any sort of instructions! Goldfur wanted to see what was going on upstairs and upstairs they went.
Luckily for them, it seemed their progress went unnoticed as they entered the building and headed for the stairwell. Halfway between the second and third floors, they came across the web of Wheatlion's tendrils. Rex was now growling fiercely, snapping at the nearest ones.
"What is this...?" Caleb wondered aloud.

Wingbeats. No, heartbeat. She could hear it, a dull throbbing of the air. It took a second for Whitehawk to realize that she was listening to the rush of blood inside her own head. Gingerly, she sat up and looked around. Low tables, a blackboard, it looked like she was back in the classroom, but there was nobody here.
Whitehawk winced when she looked out the window. Too bright. Definately too bright. She felt sore and bruised all over. In fact hadn't she just been out with the Warmaster? There was a large scab on her arm. The bleeding had stopped, but the wound hurt in a deep way. Dried blood was splattered all over her. Whose blood? Was that all hers?
Suddenly realizing her thirst, Whitehawk slid off the table, still shielding her eyes, and wandered out into the hallway of the 4th floor.

The pair of dark haired boys waited quietly in the man's office for all of five seconds before Lucius was already wandering toward the door, pulling it open, and peeked out, "Wonder what is going on... It must be important." He murmured, tail swishing behind himself. DragonSpine had banished them to his office and well that wouldn't stand, if something was going on would it really serve anyone for them to just sit around doing nothing?
"Lucius... we should stay here like the War Master told us to do." He told his brother, arms crossing over his chest, starring over at him and did his best to look dominant.
The other boy's ear gave a twitch before he snorted, "I bet this is part of that test from before, he is testing us to see if we are weak and just sit here doing nothing!"
"What if he is testing on on seeing if we listen!?" Uri counted him, trying to figure out what this might be. Was it another test for them? Were they supposed to listen to what they were being told? Or was Lucius right in thinking that they were supposed to go forth and see what was going on, to try to fix something? What if it were a real emergency? What if something dangerous were out there? The gears in his head were whirling and he gave a jump when Eclipse gave his tail a n**, "Ow... what?"
The phoenix gave a motion with her head toward the door and as Uri looked in that direction he realized his twin was gone. His eyes got wide and he gave a particularly colorful curse that he'd heard Akuji use, "I guess that solves that... come on Eclipse, lets go find Lucius and drag him back here."
She gave a nod and the pair headed out quickly to figure out where the first of their group had gotten off to.

Slyph banked hard right as another twist of thread shot out the window at her. By now, the entire floor had to be covered in the stuff! Both she and her rider had already suffered several stinging scratches. Dragonspine's face was bleeding and the paralytic froze half of his mouth into a relaxed frown, but it didn't seem to be reaching his brain. Maybe the poison was only topical. The threads would have to pierce his skull to reach it. Wisps of broken thread clung to the pair, still firing microscopic venomous harpoons into their victims although they were separated from the main body. Already, they were struggling to fly. If they couldn't break through soon, the unfortunates within would become even more unfortunate.

Rex growled at the threads before them. Caleb reached down to pat the chimera, glancing at the stuff. It was odd stuff, moving on its own and everything. He moved forward, trying to climb the stairs all the way to the third floor. The tendrils weren't too thick here yet and Rex's reaction told Caleb to try not and touch them.
The Goldfur team made their way forward slowly, Rex still growling softly. The young chimera stayed close to his handler.

Since it was a Saturday, the classrooms were completely deserted, but the drinking fountain was still as she remembered it. The fountain was set too low for adults and the water was cold and it arced high, splashing on her nose before she got it under control.
Her arm throbbed, so she held it under the tap for a while, numbing the wound and washing away some of the blood. Under all the mess, there were four fairly straight and clean gashes on her forearm from Rex's bite. Two on the top and two on the bottom. A glance in the bathroom mirror revealed that her hair and face were also smeared with blood, but there were no injuries once she had cleaned up a bit.
The clank of her shoes echoed slightly in the long hallway. Well, she knew where she was. Now the only thing left was to get home. Whitehawk made her way to the stairs and started downwards.
