here is one i wrote
Dark, cold, lonely My heart is so empty No more light shines through to it Its frozen over A permanent ice age
But then suddenly A single ray of light shines through And my frozen heart begins to thaw I looked up and there you stood Looking at me A nervous smile resting on your lips
I felt a tingle run up my spine And at that moment The light broke through Melting all the ice My heart was once again warm and filled With my love for you The hole from him Completely filled never to surface again

poem by me
some kids struggle, some kids fight, but what matters most, is what they might.[do]
waking up, and falling down, is all thay ever do, but what they wish for, is the waking of there dawn.
needing help and getting it, is two different things, needing help and wanting it, might be the change. [needed]
if one person shows the really care, it might be the push that person has needed but being the one to stand up and help, is harder then it seems.........

Beyond the Unknown
Who was I to know that such arrogance could lead to this. Such innocent questioning could close the eyes to pain. A distant ringing in my ears took it all away. A constant ebbing of grief shook me until my teeth rattled.
A blue-grey sky, not much more of a water-color painting, Then I could ever sketch out with my finger paints. A song bird singing its high pitched cry. A beautiful scene, until death came to the party.
So what if I hadn’t known better? I was only a child. Wasn’t I?
Just a little body enhanced with desire and passion to know what lurks beyond the unknown. But I never made it. To the daffodils on the other side of the road, Past the stop sign on the corner.
I only heard the tires screech when it was too late. No one was there to caution me. To scream a warning. There was no hand to hold.
It happened too fast. The flowers were there and the next minute. Nothing. Not a breath, not a hope, not even a light at the end of the tunnel.
Just a lifeless body ripped of it’s ripe life. A bloody, mangled body that littered the street that beautiful afternoon. A pool of blood I never saw.
But don’t worry. My soul is safe. And searching beyond the unknown.

read this at the poetry reading, its going into the mag it's a villanelle
Do I Dare
Do I dare sleep on this vile southern clay Of sinister reds and passionate browns? Do I dare disregard another day
As an innocent morality play? If I should cry, I would make too much sound. Do I dare sleep on this vile southern clay?
How I wished to be part of the ballet, But they persuaded me to buckle down. Do I dare disregard another day
As my mind becomes ever disarray? An unbroken soul intended to drown. Do I dare sleep on this vile southern clay,
This filthy, stinking clay dwindling away? I melted into the remorseful town. Do I dare disregard another day
As we evanesce to a charcoal grey And our deepest fears become renowned? Do I dare sleep on this vile southern clay? Do I dare disregard another day?

also going into the mag
My Sanctuary
My sanctuary is behind the shed in my backyard, Amongst the cool dirt that tickles my bare feet, and the thorns that p***k my delicate skin, Amongst the mossy cinderblocks and the broken bricks; A place where I can go and exist, A place where I sit and am me. Sticks and stones and broken bones. Amongst the overwhelming underbrush, I sit and reminisce about the good and the bad. Living so far away, forgetting with each milestone. Crying. Sleepless nights. Laughter. Friends that have been lost, whether because of me or not. Anyone who's come into my life and disappeared into thin air. Lies. Secrets. Pain. Love. It's all there, hiding all the tears and notes and chords strung along from the distance. Brilliant ideas that have been lost with easy distraction and lack of confidence. Put downs and melancholy. Quotes and scenes that stay with me forever. Dreams and nightmares and questions and answers. The past is the past, the present is now, and the future is the past. Fights and bruises. The stinging, the screams, the begging. The regretting. The limitations of being a child, not being able to stop anything going on around you. The beatings from peers. The cold stares. The questions who know you shouldn't ask without even being told. Watching and not stopping it when you could have. Fear and courage. Mixed up with everything else in the moment of decision making.

Nights Cycle til Morning
The stars are out; light from the sun falling,
They glow blue, white; gentle colors showing,
Twilight has come out with loves embracing.
But after when the soft light is leaving,
The Black wolves with their claws are pouncing,
Take the Silvery moon and leaving nothing.
or the red Swan's take their darkened wings,
And cover it with their harsh loving.
Do not fear for the Dawn is Breaking,
The Black wolves and red Swan's leaving.
The light emotion, you embracing,
Golden rays of the gentle suns rising.

Something I wrote
Townspeople
The townspeople hurry, Completely unaware. Then suddenly in there flurry, A sound comes from nowhere.
Some people look around, As if they have heard something. Others have not heard the sound, And continue as if there was nothing.
This only proves, That some people know, When something moves, Whether it is friend or foe.
But other, Haven't a clue, And every sound they smother, Even if something goes BOO!
