[PRP] Little Adventures (Rime + Ice)

Spire ran ahead of Rime, then, sufficiently far head, she turned around and ran back, repeating the process with her seemingly limitless energy, though it was occasionally broken by moments of stillness where she'd listen or stare at something that had caught her attention, only to bolt into sudden motion again without warning.

Rime smiled at her dracling, and wondered where Ter and Dee were spending their time. The silver-haired woman liked to spend some individual time with each of her dragons, and it was easiest to do so with her older ones... since they could come and visit her. Spire, still a dracling, was tied to the dream world, unfortunately.

Some of the things that Spire stopped and stared at were things conjured by Rime, to entertain the little purple drake, but other things were naturally occurring oddities from the dream world.

"Hey, hey Rime! Hey!" Spire suddenly spoke up, urgently. "Can we go to that shop place? I wanna go there. I bet it's warmer there, cause I'm cold here," she said, and looked up at her dreamer with big liquid pleading eyes.

Rime laughed; like she'd need encouragement to go and visit her friend, and any other visitors there might be.

"Of course we can go, dear. Shall we take the long way or the short way?" she asked, speaking of a dreamers ability to be wherever they wanted in Almahat.

"Oh... uhm... I wanna go now!" the dracling decided. Snow was fun, but she was already cold.

So Rime opened up her arms and picked the dracling up, though she wobbled a bit as she stood. The thought crossed her mind that soon she wouldn't be able to do this anymore. Then, with a bit of concentration and a few steps, they were suddenly in front of the little goblet shop, and Spire wiggled to be let down.

"Aw... it doesn't look like anyone's here..." the dracling said, disappointed, as she looked around eagerly.

"Well, that can change quickly. For now... how about a blanket and something warm to sip?" Rime asked, and provided these things with a thought when Spire nodded yes. Rime herself didn't seem chilled, despite only wearing a light sweater and a pair of earmuffs, and her breath didn't steam in the cold air.

Spire was delighted to be meeting someone so soon after arriving. And she recognized these two!

"Yup, that's me! ...Hey, I know you!" she exclaimed, then giggled and trotted after Angelina on her way back to Ice. "I saw you at the festival! You're... uhm... Ice! Aaaand... Angel... Angelina!"

Rime smiled and waved at Ice, beckoning for her to come over. "Hello, Ice. Would you like something to sip?" she asked, gesturing to the steaming thermos. Of course, it wasn't something that would really sustain them, but while they were in Almahat, it was nearly as good as the real thing.

Spire tilted her head to one side, thinking.

"I dunno. I never really thought about it, I guess. Ter and Dee don't have wings, either, and Rime calls all of us "drakes." Maybe that's different?" she asked, but it didn't really bother her at all.

"You haven't got legs, though! But, your wings are pretty!" Spire continued cheerfully. She had sat down in the snow, and while she concentrated on Angelina, she was almost unnaturally still, though there was still that pent up energy inside.


Rime handed Ice a cup, and smiled while she waited for her friend to settle herself.

"I've been well, as usual. The children keep me busy during the day, and the dragons keep me busy at night... though most of them can come visit me if they like... It would get too crowded if they came on a regular basis," Rime said, and chuckled at the idea of her house filled with dragons.

"How are Winter and Djin?" she asked, though from the weather, she thought Winter at least was doing well. The dragonkin took a sip from her cup, and looked curiously at Ice.

Rime tilted her head to think, then smiled "Ter is the same as always; a wonderful guardian. Dee has come out of her shell a lot, but she's still shy," she said, and smiled, thinking of her reunion with Morbus at the holiday festival.

Spire giggled at Angelina's observation, collapsing over on her side, where she rolled in her giggle-fit. "Yeah! I am! I can look like a statue if I want. But I can run real fast, too! I really like to run," she said, then stilled again and raised her head up to look at Angelina consideringly.

"Hey, do you think you could keep up with me if you were flying? Or maaaaaybe.... do you think you'd be faster?" she asked, eyes brightening at the prospect of such a challenge.

Rime smiled and nodded. "They do seem to be, don't they?" she asked, and then let the conversation fall into companionable silence.

Spire honestly didn't care if she won or not, it was the prospect of racing that made her happy.

"Oh, we'll see!" she said, teasingly, and then said, "We'll go to... hm... we'll go to that big rock over there, and then back, okay?" She indicated a rather impressive boulder sitting quite a distance away.

She waited until Angelina seemed set, then said ,"Ready, set! ...Go!" and took off running as fast as she could. She liked the feel of her claws digging into the dirt, and her muscles working hard to propel her forward, the wind flying past her head.

Spire gave it her all, but Angelina had already outpaced her halfway to the rock chosen as the halfway point. Her head was low, her neck stretched out, and her legs churned beneath her, digging into the ground and kicking up bits of it behind her.

Rather than slow down and turn around, she simply leapt into the air, springing horizontally onto the rock, legs bending, then pushed off, heading back the way they'd come from, still chasing Angelina.

Once she finally got back to the starting point, she flopped to the ground and laughed breathlessly.

"Oh, you won! Good job! I guess you really are faster!" she congratulated the little wyrm, and giggled. "I really, really ran, though. That was fun!"
