A good teacher is like a candle - it consumes itself to light the way for others. ☭ Well, it sure feels good to be back here ☭Andrew smiled and nodded a little as the other teacher explained the reason for her confusion, his silent way of showing understanding. "Well, such manners of speech normally cause some confusion, but I suppose no one is at fault." He commented, somewhat idly, before thinking about how he could reply to her next comment. He normally didn't voice many of his ideas, more out of fear of others thinking he was talking too much, so it was reassuring to find someone that didn't seem to mind. "Honestly, I'm glad you feel that way, Miss Liliana." The teacher wasn't sure if he was wrong, but she seemed a little surprised by his previous comment about his classes, but he quickly understood the reason behind it. "That is true, and I guess it shows me which students are really interested in the topic as to want to learn more." The 28-year old shook his head a little, pushing his bangs away from his face again afterwards. "Don't worry about it, Miss Liliana, there are always moments during which we must comment or dwell on matters we might not know much about." Normally, he would have made a comment about how she was possibly putting herself down or making it seem as though her knowledge wasn't enough, but in this kind of situation Andrew thought it could make the new teacher uncomfortable, and he didn't want the conversation to take that turn. "Not to sound rude, but you had no plans for this time, right, Miss Liliana? It seems like my little greeting has evolved into a conversation and I wouldn't like to hold you if there's something else you'd like to do." While it seemed as though the comment came out of the blue, and it kind of did, Andrew really wasn't sure if the other teacher had planned to do anything at this time, and he'd feel really bad if she was putting off to continue the conversation.
The blob-like pokemon let out another giggle as he was poked yet again, his body shuddering a little as it tried to keep the transformation while laughing. It was said that Dittos couldn't transform or hold a transformation while laughing, and the giggling was having a similar effect. Not like the pokemon minded, he was still having fun no matter what happened. The pokemon suddenly shrank a bit, trying to hide from the pawing for a few seconds, before the transformed pokemon reached out a 'paw' and tried to playfully paw back at Veyja. ~ Liliana Rosenberg ~ What is my occupation...?: Advanced Contest Teacher/Nature Club Supervisor What on Earth am I doing...?: Speaking with Mr. Andrew How am I feeling...?: Nervous, yet a bit free
It is the supreme art of the teacher... Liliana nodded, evidently agreeing with him, and commented nothing more on the matter. Hopefully, avoiding anything awkward would prevent further embarrassment. As he claimed to answer something truthfully, she smiled; most people didn't take the liberty to come out and say what they say is honest and mean it. "Well, Mister Andrew, I'm merely glad that you're honest with me." She replied, her smile still growing upon her face. Saria still listened, but still pretended to meditate, though she opened one of her eyes as Liliana patted her helmet. Seeing that she had been found out, the Kirlia merely stood and listened, with eyes open and no acting this time. "That is true, and it is those students who usually get better grades. And thank you so much for understanding; others might become angry if I spoke in such a way to them." She answered. It was true, though; sometimes the nicest and most innocent peoples were blamed for being impolite barbarians or something if they did the most trivial things wrong... well, it's happened to her before, apparently. "Oh no, it's quite fine! I didn't plan on much except to get some fresh air, and I feel much more relaxed and 'at home' now that I have befriended you, Mister Andrew. I am really enjoying this conversation, and I feel I am learning much just from this first meeting." She explained, surprised from the comment. It was a bit early in the morning, but did she seem like she was headed somewhere? Maybe it was just a random inquisition, though. Anyways, Veyja kept having fun with the little blob that it had also befriended! As the Pokemon shrunk, she crept a little closer, wondering if it was disappearing or something, but then it reached its long appendage, you could say, and poked her right on the snout! Surprised by the sudden outreaching, the little lamb fell backwards and landed on the grass. There was a little silence as she touched her snout, but the quietness was soon shattered as she began laughing, although it almost sounded like bleating, in her case....to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge.

A good teacher is like a candle - it consumes itself to light the way for others. ☭ This is actually quite enjoyable ☭Andrew smiled a little, glad that the first small comment and short conversation regarding the confusion was now over with, it would save them both some possibly awkward moments. The topic about his classes and the students in them seemed to also be nearing an end, which was good enough so that they could start on a new topic. "I take no offense in such comments being made, Miss Liliana, I've always encouraged people to be truthful and speak their minds. An opinion is but that, I really see no reason for people to get upset over such matters, as they often help us understand others more." That was perhaps the first reason why Andrew was considered a laidback kind of person, he didn't normally let trivial things get to him so easily, however there were always certain topics that didn't let him stay as calm, but he'd normally give signs of the topic taking a bad turn before reaching that extreme. "I'm glad to know this conversation's making you feel more at ease, Miss Liliana, and I'm happy that you consider me your friend." Perhaps the term friend was still a bit too much, considering the conversation had been rather short, but there was still a difference between friends and close friends, so it wasn't that far off. He glanced towards the pair of pokemon as they played, having heard Veyja laugh, maybe? and smiled a little at the creatures before glancing at the Pokegear hanging from the bag he normally carried. It was the little downside of having a schedule for the meals, not that he was complaining since there was plenty of time, but it normally made people come up with a schedule themselves. It was still early, sort of, so he didn't worry too much.
The pokemon watched as the Flaaffy fell back on the grass after the small poke, moving closer and silently wondering if it was hurt because it was being so quiet, but then also laughed when Veyja did. The Flaaffy was funny! He waited a bit, trying to see if the electric pokemon would continue laughing before trying to poke it again, this time on the stomach. It is the supreme art of the teacher... Liliana smiled more and more, beginning to believe more and more that this man was truly pure and meek. She hoped that the people around here were much like him, even though this man wasn't really indigenous to the island nor Canalave City. "What a relief, then! I am glad that you encourage communication, for I feel as if all peoples, including myself, never speak enough to others. However, I feel as if I have had a rather satisfactory fill of conversation with you, and I am drawn for more." Since she was somewhat foreign and 'mixed' (racially and genetically, that is), Liliana's speech in the English language was somewhat unfamiliar and perhaps old-fashioned, which might cause her trouble when teaching her students in class. The teacher nodded to him, but was shocked when she realized that she had used the term 'befriended'. She didn't even know that she had until now, and felt she had to be more wary of what words she used. "Ah! Well, as am I, but I did not mean to put it that way... that is, I am glad I have become acquainted with you. I have only met you once, and I suppose that since our first meeting seemed so promising, I subconsciously stepped forward in a metaphorical sense, believing that we were to become friends in the future. My apologies for leaping before I thought carefully." Liliana bowed apologetically, hoping that she did not anger him or anything. Although he was setting himself up as a very understanding and kind person, she felt that she couldn't do anything that might irritate him, for he might be hiding said anger within his thoughts. "Oh, but if you have somewhere to go or something to do, I won't keep you from doing so. I would hate to be a burden." She added, wondering if he had asked that so as to give himself a reason to continue on with his schedule. Veyja giggled as the Ditto touched her stomach, which was one of her ticklish areas. She rolled around, trying to escape, but she only laughed more as she recalled the feeling....to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge.

A good teacher is like a candle - it consumes itself to light the way for others. ☭ This is actually quite enjoyable ☭Andrew smiled and shook his head slightly as Liliana started to apologize about her way of phrasing her previous comment. It seemed as though they both tended to try and avoid any kind of trouble that could occur because of their manners of speech or how they phrased and expressed their thoughts. There was nothing wrong with that, but it would probably leave to situations like this more than a little often. "Ah, do not worry about that, Miss Liliana, I'm a bit at fault, myself." Andrew was the kind to consider most people a friend to a certain degree, and it had also made him jump to the conclusion a bit earlier than expected. "I consider you a friend, even if only to a small degree, but I should have considered that maybe you didn't agree with that just yet." The white haired teacher blinked a little and shook his head slightly as the other teacher asked if he had something else to do. "Oh no, do not worry, if anything, I was just making sure it wasn't getting too late." He replied with a smile. He would've have asked if Liliana would like to go eat breakfast with him, maybe meet some of the other teachers, but he'd wait for her to calm a little so it wouldn't turn into yet another awkward situation.
Ditto let out another laugh and tried to chase Veyja as the Flaaffy tried to get away from him. He wasn't about to bother the pokemon too much, but he was enjoying the fact that other pokemon was having a good time playing around with him. Not most pokemon around school were the friendly type. -Andrew Lowell ௫ -Ditto ₪ The best teachers teach from the heart, not from the book.
