The leaves rustled nearby, the sound of something heavy padding through the forest. In a few moments, a large boar sauntered into the clearing; and by large, it was large. The thing was about half as tall as the trees, clearly above Thalia's head. It was snuffling the ground, turned away from Thalia. When he turned his head, however, a new fact was visible.
His eyes were gone.
Whether destroyed by another halfblood, or gauged out by Dionysus before being placed into the forest, the boar now had large scars where his eyes should have been.
He was still, however, ferocious. His large tusks were pointed, sharp. His hooves seemed to have blood on them, and he was nothing if not muscular.
He snuffled a tree, his ears twitching as he came closer to Thalia. He hadn't seen her. But soon, he would hear her. And it would not be pretty; but perhaps she could attack first.

Melanie came to the forest.... It's so nice here she thought. She sat there and closed her eyes wanting to listen to the sounds of nature.....
