((I was gone too,so no worries.))
Cross sighed. "It's not the poison,it's the orb. There's no other way to utilize it's true power unless I go-" He gulped at the thought of death. "There's nothing else we can do. If I just do nothing about this,the orb's going take my life. Slow and painfully...It's better I go out for something worth dying for..." Cross looked around him. Death and decay surrounded the lifeless,empty town. The thought of the current wars abroad the continent and victims desperately looking for a place of haven filled him with grief. As he stopped at the center of the town,he hoped that Ginji,Sillia and that one girl thought the same thing. Cross turned around. "I guess this is goodbye."

Ginji cursed and swore, knowing that in the end, Cross was right...
"Dammit Cross...You just had to be the ******** hero, didn't you...it's not fair..." He looked away, trying to hide his true feelings, as he wiped away a small tear; something amazing considering he was undead. He turned back to Cross. "If you die...You better make sure it's worth it! And you better come back some day! I don't care if it's as a ghost or some descendant who shows off just as much as you do...but...If I don't see you at least once more before I finally leave this life...When I finally cross over to the other side, you better hope I don't find you...You got that!?"

Cross looked at Ginji,astonished and grinned. He read his mind,but he chose not to confront him on his feelings. "Don't worry. I'll be back. That's a promise. But promise me you'll take care of the town,whether running it or finding someone who can."

Ginji shook his head. "I don't deserve to be here...I couldn't save you and I couldn't protect the others...I have no right...I'll find someone else to lead this place...Until I can get stronger, and actually protect the people that live here..."

"Then make it so." Cross walked up to his friend gave him a pat on the back. "Don't be so hard on yourself. It was either you or me. I would've only lived for a few years and you would waste your immortality. For what it's worth,I'd rather not see a friend go. After all,I am coming back." He walked back to the center of the town,chuckling.

Sillia was unsure how to act in this situation feeling conflicted she chose the truth was best "Alright then. What is done is done. Hurry up and get back here Cross with your next life I am sure Ginji will do a great job of looking over the town for you." she smirked at her last comment.

Cross nodded,back turned to his friends. He closed his eyes and spread his arms. He began to levitate in midair,body slowly fading away. Before his face could disappear,he let out one last "Goodbye." A pillar of light appeared before it let out a bright flash. Slowly,but surely, fields and flowers started to grow. The dark atmosphere around them slowly slipped away. Every lamp post and light was lit in the town,making for a beautiful sight. All of a sudden,immigrants from nearby lands began pouring out into the town. Cross's act was complete.
