This very unusual material is composed of dolomite, gypsum-bearing clay, limestone, or porphyry with lath-like crystals of andalusite, celestite, feldspar, or calcite which are grouped into a natural crystal pattern resembling blooming Chrysanthemum flowers--the official symbol of the Imperial Family of China. These stones have been found in Japan, Canada, China, and the USA.
Chrysanthemum stone helps us to experience our own passage of life in the way the petals of a flower unfold: a process in which change, rather than being unsettling and disruptive, is a flowing, harmonious journey.
